looks strange, that guy who is working as experienced team lead, worry about chatgpt replace devs, it's doesn't looks possible next 5 years at all. Even now public alot of white papers that prof that transformers don't significant upper efficient of devs(like copilot), but produce alot of bugs, and it's just top of iceberg. For me personal feel like faster produce code by my self then fix defects after gpt, or explain super detail what i need.(we have for this programming langueage, so why the f** do job twice)
The best analogy here is school, high schools students can easy make a joke to juniors, after several years this stupid junior that believe in mystical monsters, start to make the same jokes to newcomers No one knows what would be in 5 years, but IT one of the most perspective way to have a work and money One little thing, in case of singularity, it probably would be communism 😂 so keep calm and do whatever you like
