What's happening to MUO (Universe, USA, Teen)? This is a total nightmare. I don't know why Miss Universe Philippines is still planning to send a delegate knowing that these bunch of bullies at the helm of this organization will ruin the life of the winning delegate. No wonder Miss USA and Miss Teen USA resigned.

I'm impressed by how this young lady expressed herself without reservation, no encryption, no ambiguity. It's clear that she is no longer with the program and it does not fit with what she signed up or stands for. Looking at her former IG titleholder account, it's apparent that she didn't have many opportunities to advocate for the causes that she cited in her resignation letter. No details needed; she kept it classy and to the point. Smart girl. Good luck to her.

Now with Miss Hawaii assuming the Miss USA role, I think she may be treated really well by Layla and company and will be used as a PR puppet to “patch things up”. I was hoping no one would fill the position which would have made a huge statement, but we will see what happens.
Agreed, so typical of a narcissist’s love bombing phase. Making so many promises like Laylah did when she first got the org. The façade only fades when the hunger to control the narrative takes over. Luckily with three months left Savannah might dodge that toxicity, but I worry for the next group.

Ok .. now this is the PROOF where now I am 100% sure if something is not done to address this "toxic" environment that sadly seems to end one of the most beautiful events created and was a pageant (along with Miss Universe, Miss Teen USA and the reason we received this pageant, Miss America) with my mother growing up.
Since Jordan didn't know the history. Up until 1951, the winner of Miss America was filmed in one of the pageant's sponsors (Catalina) swimsuit. When Miss America 1951 Yolande Betheze refused to be photographed in the swimsuit, Catalina withdrew their sponsorship and created their own pageant, Miss USA, starting in 1952 - held in Long Beach, California where 18 year old Miss New York, Jackie Loughery became the OG Miss USA on June 27th, 1952.
I pray that everyone involved can put pride and egos aside and they need to listen to one another ... because I'm sad to say I'm afraid that there may not be any more Miss USA or Miss Teen USA pageants. I understand doing a NDA for the year you compete at Miss USA, but once your reign is over, you should not have to sign a NDA for the rest of your life .. that signifies to me there is a cover up about something. I pray I'm wrong.
OH wow, I just realized something that the first Miss USA (1952) & Miss Teen USA (1983) had in common ... but pageants were each won by Miss New York! Jackie Loughery & Ruth Zarkarian (professional name Devon Pierce and was once the baby sitter to Jessica Collins - who was 1st Runner Up at Miss Teen USA 1988 AND both of them had roles on the biggest soap opera of them all "The Young And The Restless" and if you want a BIGGER connection Miss Teen Rhode Island USA 1991 Top 12 semifinalist and Miss Photogenic - Gina Tognoni - played Jessica's sister on TYAR!)

There should be a full walkout of contestants and a straight up boycott until this tyrant is removed. Anyone who steps in to save her ass for the remaining months is not serious about values or morals.

I use to groom L’s dogs . They were always in the worst shape total negligence on her part as a pet parent. I ended up with her two poor babies bc she didn’t want them anymore. After months of getting them back to good I gave them to a loving family and they come to me every 4 weeks still. How someone loves and cares for animals tells me all I need to know about them. Best thing she did was give them away. Maybe she should consider giving this organization away to someone who is a better fit.
Personally, I do not want them to have a successor...they are the true winners and need to be remembered the same way...there should be no replacement...

It’s truly incredible to see so many in the 2023 class voice their support so boldly. A stunning show of strength. I’m interested to see if Miss Hawaii 2023 will make a statement, or accept the title. I saw some reports that she was offered it but not sure how accurate that is. Additionally, I can’t WAIT to see what statement Laylah Rose musters up. Honestly, anything other than a resignation and release of Noelia’s NDA will fall short.

Hawai'i (Savannah Gankiewicz) has accepted the Miss USA title, but New York (Stephanie Skinner) has declined the Miss Teen USA title (posted on her IG a few hours ago)🤭

@@JayMartel24 to be fair, they wanted to treat Miss USA like the other franchise holders of other countries, so maybe there will be less preferential treatment for Miss USA. In the end, it were the actions of both Crystle Stewart and now Layla Rose that's damaging the brand. They are both attention seekers who uses the pageant to bring attention to themselves rather than the titleholder. They think they are the face of the organization, not the titleholders.
You should take over the Miss USA organization. You have a passion for the event. -)

Dani, did you see the actual official notice from Miss USA basically throwing Noelia under the proverbial BUS, gushing about how Savannah is going to usher in the Class of 2024.
It was so darn rife with Layah Rose’s screw you to both girls for causing a full blown scandal in her “world”.
I am so proud to be competing in a pageant where it’s truly all love, friendship and support, but I have to say that I will NEVER support or watch Miss USA or Teen USA until Layah is no longer in charge of those organizations.
Seriously been waiting for this, thank you for getting it done so soon!

It's kinda strange that Miss USA has been a mess since Anne became owner of Miss Universe!?! Also, I wonder why nobody is talking about the meeting Layla had with the Miss Universe owners a few months ago!?! Maybe they wanted Layla to start drama so it can be turned into a reality drama series like Anne wanted Miss Universe to be turned into. (Anne mentioned a show and said other horrible stuff in the leaked video at the Miss Universe meeting)
Nope. Anne taking over only highlighted the existing problems within the organization. Paula bandaid everything and it was only a matter of time before the bandage came off.

I am desperately waiting for your thoughts about Miss Hawaii.
When you know your worth, and knowing when to leave the table when the discussion no longer serves your growth.
This part right here!! This is complete conjecture on my part, but it seems like LR thought she was going to be able to treat these women like she does her models - as in, giving them what they get, and expecting them to be happy about it. These women, on the other hand, have developed their self-confidence and self-worth in a very (VERY) different way. And so - very different outcome.
I hope all is well with these organizations many people inspire to be a part of them. But there must have been a really important reason as to why both of them left knowing they would lose some opportunities.
Also Miss CO had reigned! There is so much happening in the span of a few days!!!!
At this point, Miss Universe Org should:
1. Remove Laylah Rose and cancel the Miss USA 2024 edition
2. 1st RU Miss USA 2023 will compete in MU 2024 and assume the Miss USA 2024 title
3. All state title holders of USA will compete in Miss USA 2025 instead, which will give them more time to crown new state winners, while protecting them from this mess of a leadership
Giving state queens more time to prep is a great idea, since they got crowned so late in the season already.
Dani, thank you for your continued service to the pageant community and pageant fans.These videos provide more valuable context to pageants in general and these historic events.
While I recognize (and applaud ) standing up to oppressive organizations and supporting those who have been victimized, I feel sad that the MUSA brand will continue to suffer. More importantly, there are many women who have already invested and sacrificed their time, energy, and money to competing this year, and may have already won their state pageants, For those women, do we just say “too bad”?
What needs to happen to ensure that the MUSA brand can survive these historic events? Is this year already doomed? If the MUSA pageant is held, who will place the crown on the winner? Will the winner be unfairly labeled as someone who supports the current direction of the pageant?
These incredible women just want to compete and advocate for their causes.
I have been a pageant fan since I was a little boy. Watching pageants sometimes provided an escape to the bullying I suffered as a young boy. To this day, watching pageants provides me an escape to the sometimes ugly side of the world. It’s so sad to see these events unfold.

Since you worked for Laylah Rose at one point for VIP Pageantry, would you be willing to make a video airing out your personal experience with her?
I've shared with others that my experience working with Laylah at VIP Pageantry was a positive one. She was always nice to me. It's sad to me that not everyone has been able to have that same experience. I am a hopeful person. I do still believe there is a way she can turn this all around. For the sake of the org and all future contestants, I hope that's what happens.

So proud of Stephanie for declining! Shows that she really is in solidarity with UmaSofia and Noelia. Now let's hope that the 2nd Runner-Up (and the 3rd & 4th Runners-Up) do the same. If any of them accept, their choice, but keeping the seat vacant would be the most effective stand against the Miss USA org TBH.

Miss Hawaii just took over the Miss USA title AND her mom made a comment that her daughter had a conversation with Noelia before she accepted the role and said Noelia’s complaints were not nearly as detrimental as everyone is making it seem saying it was due to them having to take spirit airlines, not having a driver or makeup artists at times etc AND saying that Noelia might have forgotten why she got the tittle in the first place which was to be a ‘role model to little girls’ 😱 I am shocked

The comments by Savannah's mother are SO much more nasty than anything she is replying to. I screenshotted them if anyone wants me to paste some "highlights"
She did make that statement and Noelia's spokesperson denied that Noelia ever spoke to Savannah's mom.

This is sad for USA. Other countries have held licenses to Miss Universe for 50 years+, and in USA, two completely insane fiascos in a span of 3 years. And they didn't come without shower pics of the directors husband and now a psyko boss that makes you want to throw up every morning. GREAT JOB Miss USA Universe!
Wow, what a video! I don't know if you agree with this, but honestly...I think that Noelia, Uma, and the two ladies who were fired should just plain ignore the NDA and go public. Sure, NDAs are binding...but to an extent. If the punishment is a fine, and they do not pay it, MUO can harass them with collections agents until the statute of limitations expires (so probably a few years of unwanted mail/phone calls, unless they move and get new phones), and in the USA, there is no such thing as "debtor's prison" so legally, they cannot be sent to jail. If MUO wants to sue them, first, they would have to hire lawyers, and if the organization is in financial trouble to begin with, what money are they going to use to retain legal counsel? Then, if they do manage to assemble a legal team, they'll have to file suit and make a strong case, and even so, there's a good chance that the case will be thrown out, leading them back to square one. This is the MUO, not the FBI, the CIA, Interpol, Scotland Yard...in the long run, there is very little that they can realistically do to hurt any of these women, and virtually nothing they can do WITHOUT hurting themselves even more. So, speak up Noelia, speak up Uma, because even though MUO can issue statements and throw tantrums all they want, if Noelia and Uma have the media on their side, they'll be protected and able to have happy, successful lives and careers.
Savannah’s mom responded about her daughter taking the position. Saying the truth will come out and that they thought “that’s all that happened?”

Yes, let Miss Hawaii decide on her own (with eyes wide open). Caveat: she is technically no longer the current Miss Hawaii as she has relinquished the crown to the 2024 winner (but of course, she's still 1st Runner-Up to Miss USA 2023)

Hi! Dani the Greek fan/blogger here. As you know we are not a big pageant country. however, I come from the only region in Greece to have crowned both the very first Star Hellas (aka Miss Greece) and the one and only Greek Miss Universe (MU 1964). So my parents know a couple of things about the pageants and their genuine question after hearing about the whole story is: "can the US justice system intervene on their own in order to investigate the shady stuff going on behind the scenes in the organisation?" "can they bypass the NDAs with a court decision or something so that the people affected can speak out and as a result press charges etc.?". And after they spoke their minds those questions became my own as well... As I don't know how the justice system works in the US (aside from what we are watching in procedural police shows) I would appreciate some clarification on this. Thanks

I think Paula Shugart should think about founding a counter pageant to Miss USA and MU for the simple reason that the current MUO has not upheld the tradition and values of the MUSA/MU pageants. I don’t think the current ownership of the MUO owns the tradition and history of the MU pageant. They bought the pageant and name not the soul of the MU and its history from 1952 to 2021.

Miss USA/Miss Teen USA does not belong on a resume. The opportunities you get from it belong on a resume, and those opportunities are over. Even former Miss Americas state they keep it off their resume in professional settings because it is just not appropriate.

We don’t have the exact details because Noelia and UmaSofia are under a NDA contract which prevents them from saying too much which is why some of the class of 2023 are releasing the statements.
It might help if you go back and watch some of Dani's other videos to get an idea of what has been going on with both Noelia and UmaSofia through their reins. Leylah Rose is not necessarily mentioned by name, but she is the head of the Miss USA organization, so you have to keep that in mind.

PUBLIC FIGURES are entitled to so many things including th PUBLIC OPINION (bad, good, great and worst) because when your publicly famous you bcome a public property in all sense , forms etc. Learn to live and accept the reality of it, knowing it is part of our daily lives embracing the importance of coexisting in this world. Reaching a certain agreements that somehow will solve a certain problems. Remember bad things happen to good people, likewise good things happens to bad people. One thing for sure we are not exempted nor immuned from being ridiculed, scrutinized and judgement... same goes with praises, compliments and ALL THAT JAZZ!
I remember Geri Halliwell talked about how she and the rest of the Spice Girls were greeting a mob of fans from a hotel balcony. Everybody was cheering and screaming for them...and Halliwell saw one girl in the crowd gave her the finger. THAT one girl totally ruined her day and got her mind racing about why that girl hated her, despite that everybody else loved seeing her.

Wow, I wish I knew the whole back stories behind these resignations. Do you know what Noelia meant specifically regarding her mental health? Are they somehow abusing the title holder's?
From what I see, Noelia was not making that much appearances and Layla seemed to be ignoring and left her on her own.
I wish both of them all the success. They so need Dani Walker running the show.

This is just MY PERSONAL opinion; I think that the reason why they both resign is bc they feel like there not getting the deserved sponsorship from the organization and I mean the UPPER members; exactly where is Miss Anne involvement in all this; why isn’t she handling her OTHER divisions but chooses to ignore them completely and to only keep her main focus in Miss Universe Brand.
Isn't Miss USA now being treated separately like any other national pageant? For example, what Osmel and Lupita do in their own pageants is their business and prerogative. So the same is with Crystle and Layla.
