I think less is more, I started painting 2 years ago, having come into painting close to 70, I cant believe how much I have accumulated in that time, so much so that I find it more difficult to get motivated now, so I intend going into my studio re arranging and parting with at least half of my stuff, so that the space takes me back to where I first started, less is more Wendy, we don’t need all we think we need.
Empaté thing I have noticed, white sheer or lace fabric that can veil or re'veil' the windows during busy to peaceful times helps muffle when you wanna cocoon. 🥰 I love big windows, openness, truth, vulnerability- c'est la vie but all vessels benefit from a bit of a veil be it skin or bark, a sash, or even art. 😉☺️💖 it also sorta even adds more light when off to the sides of the window because the light bounces from it and it just brings an ethereal airy feel. And aaa when you open the windows and the wind sets sail to the soft drapery, aaa feels so magical!
Dear Wendy, I discovered your channel a few days ago and I’ve been binge watching your videos ever since. You have inspired me so much and your videos make me feel so safe and encouraged to follow my dreams at my own pace. I’m an artist in my 20s and sometimes the pressure I feel stops me creating but you are a bright light and it makes me want to be brave and be one too! Thank you for the safe space this channel has become. You are such a beautiful and radiant soul! Xxxxxx
I watch this video again and again. It's time to make my studio more organized, but it's difficult to find a starting point. Your video helps me find an idea on how to make my home a place of well-being and creativity. Thank you Wendy ❤
A space where we feel at home is absolutely needed for our mental well being. Since I was an adolescent, I saw that need and rearranged my room to my liking. My parents always allowed me to do whatever I wanted to feel happy in my room. Now, as an adult, I am still like that. My art room is my happy place, but my bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc, is accordingly to my mental well being: no visual pollution, only what really makes me happy. No objects that mean nothing to me or bring bad memories, shells, stones, plants, my art work, family photos and that’s basically what makes my house my happy place and comfortable for me to do my art. Thanks for keeping me company, see you soon, Wendy 💙💜❤️🧡💚💗🖤💛♥️
Love how your space is evolving. Enjoy seeing James and you being resourceful and using what you have when refurbishing and decorating. The paint pegboard is brilliant!! Thank you both for sharing your light, creativity, and providing a calm and safe space on this channel.
I am from an Arab country and I follow you, I love you very much because you are spontaneous and your thinking is wonderful, please make simple educational videos in which you explain
This was truly time well spent! Your studio is gorgeous, looks like an ideal space to create. We do think it's time to declare a day of appreciation for the humble binder clip, without which so many artists' studios would fall to pieces!
Dear Wendy and James, what a team! I wish I had a James in my life. Love the paint tube set-up and good place for the wood shelf, I’ve never liked my back to any door. The studio looks so open and free . Love that you have a space to spin around or yoga. It’s beautiful. James is a very cool guy to have around. A keeper! Beautiful time with you. Enjoy the week ahead. Enjoyed a cuppa with you both. Sending hugs and love from my space to yours. Sprinkle fairy dust around to keep us all feeling bright and full of light. ❤️☮️✌️💫💋
Cheerio! Love what you have done! My years as a social worker where I met people in their home environment made me aware of how much a person’s mental and spiritual Health was affected or even reflected by unorganized and cluttered spaces! At the time I wasn’t aware of Feng Shui principles, but often there were natural solutions, improvements occurred when spaces were opened and orientation adjustment! I think we could see this in this video and it inspires us! Blessed and safe days!
I think its not so easy to be ordered for a real artist as you are. I adore you two, so lovely and funny. Thank YOU for keeping me so much company. The poem of the Free Spirits moved me...😊✨💚🌷🌞🎶🦋🍀🌹🕊️🎈🌻
My craft room is not working great right now. I bought a second sewing machine and the balance is off now. I have too many hobbies but none I care to give up. Great job you guys.
I love your atelier! Even in the cluttered state it's cozy to look at. And to see the transformation of your working spaces, and the process of finding their new shape - AND the process of relighting the brightness of the smile in your eyes as new spaces grow, it's so amazing! I live in a cluttered home and have no steady space for trying to do some art. You inspire me to create at least nice storage and portable art space so I can have a little bit of an art life at least 😃 Thank you for taking us into your room 🙏
I can only dream of having a space that large. My home is small and I'm in a 7' x 10' space for art. Pianos and music related items take up a third of the room so I'm am working on a 3 x 5' table with items all over it. I Love your ideas and organizational creativity. Excellent!
Your space looks great. James is such s super help with great understanding of your needs. Whenever I tidy and reorganize my stuff I get a bit lost for a week or two. I am getting ready to start the inside of an angel/goddess / white witch/alchemy journal for my new daughter out law ,Dawn, who is so lovely she even came to Mum's funeral last week and looked after me so kindly people couldn't believe this was only our second meeting. She feels like the daughter I would have loved to have and now I do. All sorts of exciting, sad and life changing events are happening in my life and with Dad and Mum passing in the last 4 months a lot of worry has gone too. I am being very peaceful and quiet. Spring has suddenly turned very wet and cold again. I've had the fire going all day and I've been journaling, avacado dying papers , crocheting and fussy cutting while I.watched a movie on Netflix. I love that; house care: a real game changer in attitude. Thanks. And yes I love learning from these two too. I feel a paint station board coming up and I can reclaim the place where the trolley is taking up so much floor space. The tricky part is I use a wheelchair so can' go up too high on the wall space. But I will figure it out.
@@KerrieDuff I love that too ; there is something about the word 'housework' that puts me right off it! I hope you find solutions to your art space; maybe S hooks and rails on the side of any tables, window sills etc could help.
I think it is great to organize and make comfortable spaces. I like to see the choices for insperation. Yes we do appreciate James you are so lucky to have a good mate.
Loved the Chi of the room. I can feel the energy from the video. James is so wonderful to help you achieve a safe, warm and 🎨💃💃 ultimately a sacred composition of your energy and his love. Everything plays a part, the paints and everything in it that all have their own energy revived. Wendy it's lovely. The areas all accessible and what you need right at your fingertips. So HAPPY for you. And James you are a sweetheart to help your beloved sweetheart get her musical flow and dance back and now her spirit can paint and create. 🎶🎶🌿🌈👫💞Cheers
Ooh, love your vlogs and art! If the boxes are low key bother and pleases you, you could always scavenger after a pretty, colourful fabric and hang over them as a door without being a door :) am finding that I can follow your thought process quite easily, which is rare for me at times…but got the same problem, and having issue with where to place my art stuff in my small-ish apartment 😅 (& that I am overthinking is always “helping”) Keep up the lovely work and vlogs tho! They are calming!
You and James are me and my husband! This is what is going on most of the time in my pottery studio! Philips input, his excellent storage ideas, endless supply of tools, and always has the perfect hook for my needs!
Excellent improvements! I can actually “feel” the new comfort of your work space. The “wall” to enclose the area is brilliant. I so agree with the importance of having a “nurturing” space in which to work. Enjoy! And thanks for all of your inspiring videos.
Why do I find myself saying “I’m proud of you?” Your studio just gets better and better!! James and you are such a wonderful pair of spirits together, and such a joy to watch your working together. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Your so lucky to have James! I am on my own and have been for a very long time. It would be nice to have help with projects or just someone to bounce ideas off of. Anyway, the studio looks great! Can't wait to see what you create next 😊
This is the video I didn't know I needed I've been struggling 😩 with the new layout of my craft room but now I have so many ideas from this video thank you Wendy and James xxxxx
What an amazing job you two have done, great teamwork.❤Its so lovely to see your smiling face and your happiness at your newly organised space. Its is as much a joy for me to watch, as it is for you to show us and use the new organised space......enjoy.😊👍x
Such a sweet start to my week! Thank you, Wendy, for all that you do, and your willingness to share with us, even when you’re feeling blue. Much love from the Mohave!
Loved this Wendy. I am a sensitive soul and an empath also so I know how much your working environment can really affect you. It's important to get it just right for how it works with your energy. Well done. Also really enjoyed seeing James contribute to the video as he did with his talking cameo. You are a lovely pair to watch working together. Happiness to you both. ❤💜💙
Good evening Wendy! I watched this video and realized that the chaos of my creation corner was depressing and blocking my flow. I took a few before photos and started the daunting task of putting it in order. I got only far enough to uncover some interesting bits that I have been working on. I have been percolating on making a journal for some time now, along with the card creating that I do. I have a ton of materials for this craft. But when I sit down to create a new card my mind is messy. I took your advice and made a cup of Lady Grey tea and started making the bits that will fill my journal. I also have your videos playing as I work because your soft voice and encouraging words quiet my jumbled mind and the floodgate has opened. Somewhere I found this quote "Mess is stress, organize your way to serenity. I wrote this out on a piece of stamped cardstock and taped it to the wall over my desk as a reminder to finish decluttering. Thank you for your inspiration.
Studio looking all sorted and ready to receive you and your fabulous creative spirit! As with everyone your video is inspiring me to get my space like I need and want it. Things change and it's ok to change with them. James is an awesome addition to your make-over. Full of good ideas and so helpful in getting it done! Enjoy your make over and your creative week! Hugs from Arizona🥰♥️🥰
Oh,Wendy, what a lovely place to create and be inspired!! I have a space as well for my creations. You are so right when you say tidying up your workspace, I get anxious when it's a bit of a mess when I'm making jewelry or wire wrapping or doing journal books. I have to clear it up before each project or ideas won't flow to me. I am a sensitive empath and lighting is key to me as well. One thing I do not have are plant babies in my room, and I will add some to keep me company and for the energy they bring, thank you so very much for your heartfelt videos, they are a joy to watch and listen too, and know I am not alone being a sensitive. Many blessing to you and James! Happy creating in your new space!!:))) From across the pond in Sheffield Lake, Ohio!
I’ve done the same since creating my little ‘art studio’ in a spare bedroom. Being so tiny, mine is all about playtime! And I go to my living room to read, meditate, research & ponder…………… You are my #1 favorite channel! I’m working on ideas/courage to have a channel myself (bought lighting, etc.); thinking it easier if I begin with ‘talking hands’, so to speak. So I seriously appreciate your openness, vulnerability & just being real with your channel! I laughed out loud (& replayed a few times;) when James’ words coincided with your braided ponytail flip. Excellent timing! Haha
Sometimes a little tweak here & there is all that is necessary! I love your studio, I love how you use what you have and repurpose, a great example & reminder that money doesn’t always need to be spent to solve a problem. I think everyone needs a James in their life💕! May God bless you, thank you for sharing your thoughts and studio today🥰.
Studio is looking great! If it’s anything like mine, it’s always a work in progress. I store my acrylics on a board like yours too. Big thank you to James for all his hard work on your space. You two are adorable together. 😘
I was feelin' called out when you were talking about living in a "tiny, cluttered, unwindowed space". I just sort of looked around and had to let out a deep breath. I love the loft I live in, but the lack of windows and natural light has been making me so unmotivated and it has become more cluttered and as a result, more tiny. There's a lovely floor to ceiling window in the bathroom and a small kitchen window and a door with a window to the balcony, but I feel like if it's not enough light for plants, it's not enough light for me. But I'm not going to remain depressed about it. I'm feeling inspired to finish tidying it all up after watching your videos and getting back to painting the ceiling a lighter color and the walls light and colorful. I think for the windowless bedroom a sunshine-y yellow is in order. And definitely going to take what you said about adding more lights to heart.
Purging "...what is no longer serving you or relevant..." That's a seriously challenging statement! Thank you Wendy, for your continued honesty and life-learned wisdom. I'm really appreciating your company in this season of my life. It's been rather messy lately and I've struggled to find direction and purpose. But your videos help restore some reason. Heaps blessed. Thank you.
Studio looks fabulous. More airy. Love the pegboard. This video is helping me rethink my art area in my home. I'm having a hard time just starting to paint. Thinking I'm having a creative block because of the set up of my area. Thank you and tell James thank you. Have a wonderful week.
I painted a microwave cart (needed freshening, indeed) as my trolley and have in the past put two back to back with board on top as a standing desk 😀. Use what we have and be happy .hugs.
Brilliant idea to create a cubby feeling by adding that divide between paint area and front door! Feels less like a hallway Im sure now. Brilliant. Hoping you are feeling mega creative and feel like you are being hugged by the room in support for creativity!!! It looks great from out here lol. meow meow purrrs
What a blessing to have a peaceful space. You and James did an amazing job together. It was nice to hear a bit more from James on the reasons for your area, and his dance moves! You are both such an inspiration to so many. 🧚
Love your refreshed sacred space! Easy to do: I hope you add a painted round mandala "rug", loose boho style. It would finish your dance space so nicely!
I think a Art Studio is never big enough and the furniture is never enough 😀 I think lots of People have Problemes with ,,no Energie " me to and my friend tell me that too 🤷♀️🤷♀️ 🌻🌞🌻 wish you a beautiful Sunday evening.
Yay! The shelf found its home 😊 Lovely video - nice to see you two having fun with it all too (James is a DIY star 🌟) I just had a reshuffle of my little art space at home & it's such a good feeling. Finding stuff you forgot you had is a bonus as well! 😁
I love that you created zones - I’m currently missing zones. I do journaling, collage, watercolor, dry mediums like charcoal and pencil, oil and acrylic paint…. I REALLY need to figure out zones. Currently i have 1 floor easle, 1 drafting table, and I’m using a folding table. But the zones are always moving around - i like to spread out!
Aloha Wendy and James! How lovely that this has come together with such ease and grace. Sometimes, I have to live in a space to know where x y z needs to go. Keep on keeping on as we go forward into Mercury Rx on the 9th (maybe 10th for you?) ! Peace and well-being to all of us.
I just love when things are tickity-boo! Although I realize now that I have no idea how to spell it ;) What a happy uplifting space! James was SUPERB on camera. Get loose, dance, and yoga in the middle of the chi space. Definitely tickity-boo! Cheers.
Oh wow, guys! Fantastic experience, thanks so much for sharing. My fave bit is the paint tube organizer. Idea: When you add a second panel or more to it, maybe you could design them like a shop display with hinged double-sided "pages" that you can flip through, like a paint tube catalog come to life. But somehow ensure that they don't get locked onto one another by the bulldog clips. Maybe roll-down fabric blinds? At any rate, I love your refresh! Well done, Wendy and James! Bright blessings, all.
I love your studio, the light, the plants, your beautiful paintings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful light. Oh, I used to have a shelf like your brown one. I gave it away & now I miss it. Hugs!
Beautiful and love the pegboard especially. Little life-hack to make the next one easier: You can put a C-hook in a drill chuck, interlink it into a hook on the pegboard, turn it on and voila! it will gently twirl the hook in, and then you simply unhook the drill and do the next one. Hope that makes sense lol and saves a bit of time and finger-ache. Can't wait to see what you create in your lovely new space. :)
Oh Wendy, Your space looks wonderful! You and James are such a wonderful team. I feel like you are going to be so much more creative and productive just because it’s organized and it gives you some peace of mind when you walk in. Bravo!
Your video is spot on. Thank you both for the ideas you created and shared. You never fail to make me smile. Wishing you a week that is kind to you both🙂
You might think about putting a plant on top of that cupboard by the door…one would see it from both sides. It looks wonderful not to mention much more productive
Hi Wendy. Looking good . Here comes a little tips a big shelf over the daybed were you can put your journals and a little lamp facing Down for cozy reading 🥰👍 big hugs from me .my studio is still water damege ...😒 but later i will get a new wodenfloor.🤩
I tend to like to kitty corner things so it's not so squared off so in your entrance maybe that shelf could be Kitty cornered? I love it!!! I love your Madonna, with the pink pink flowers I'm sorry I don't know off handy type of flower but it's the print on the black backing that's in front closer to the door I love it I have to go to your shop and see if she's available and I love where you placed the Lady Gaga that sweet little show such a perfect place for it being so useful your space is amazing light is so critical when it comes to creating I love it all just perfect I can't wait to see what you do with that little nook in the corner of your entrance!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 🌺🌼🌻☀️💛✌️❤️ I love the idea of having the books above your day bed, how perfect, it comes to life your space inspiration.... James has been wonderful you're so fortunate to have such a great relationship 🤩 so true about a free spirit we are the ones that bring life to the light!!!☀️ I've always thought of fairies being what they are as fairy tail unfortunately I haven't been able to appreciate them as you have but thank you so much for bringing the light in my vision what will we do without them those beautiful in fairy tales no matter what the age they bring love and appreciation for nature and a relaxing spirit of life!!! Just so sweet amongst the darkness we all have to face in our journeys...🎶🌞💗😋
James is indeed a godsend! What a great team you are! This is looking great. I keep having a vision of that long painting in front of your computer in the "Oval Office" hanging above your lovely daybed - or something long and narrow like it. I, too, while watching your previous videos have been wondering about the placement of things in that room given the odd shape and placement of the door. I hope that this arrangement provides a space for many happy and comfortable hours painting! (By the way, thanks to the recommendation of an online art course I am now taking, I now have a 4 x 8 foot easel which is a piece of 3/4" MDF on an A-frame "easel" (just three 2 x 4s screwed together in an A shape, with the middle 2 x 4 where the MDF rests) the top of which just rests against the wall. It is fabulous. I can tape work to it that is on paper, or stack canvases one atop the other, and still have plenty of room to work on a painting. Many of the other students have a rolling cart beneath the crosspiece of the "A", but I have a table perpendicular to the easel on which I keep the supplies I am working with. You are an inspiration!
I'm so happy that I found your video as it gave me the "kick" that I needed to "change the flow" of my special space. I'm a writer and a journal maker while they can complement each other, I had stopped doing both. It seems I had too much of both and they were all over the place. So, taking notes from your video I am going to have a clearing out and reorganize the lot. Thanks for sharing
I'm in limbo again in temporary accommodation and my art space is also my computer space...it's just filled with piles of things and I can't wait to get settled somewhere with a dedicated working space!
Love your heart, and how it presents in your art and disposition. 😊 I know your video is not recent, (saw it today May 2) but just this weekend, I worked in my art studio doing a transformation. an ultimate breath of fresh air in this studio! Had fun with it...added a beautiful plant/plant stand for the healthful benefits!
Ohhh wonderful additions to your studio dear love this what you and James Have done so Happy for you, looking so comfy and cozy dear for you to create in
Your studio looks fantastic! I love your mindful approach to arranging your workspace to enhance your daily creativity and peace of mind. And yes, thank you to James for his expert advice, painting and carpentry. The paint tube board looks terrific. What a good idea!

Why do I find myself saying “I’m proud of you?” Your studio just gets better and better!! James and you are such a wonderful pair of spirits together, and such a joy to watch your working together. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Many blessings back to you Betty 😙😙😙
Ooh I like that term "deep storage" makes the place more legit than "boxes in the corner" ... extremely motivational... thank you.
glad to hear that Beth xxxxx
Such a sweet start to my week! Thank you, Wendy, for all that you do, and your willingness to share with us, even when you’re feeling blue. Much love from the Mohave!
awww, thank you dear Monica xxxxxxxxx much love to you in the Mohave!!! xxx
It's always good to have someone like James around. I have a Jay and he is good about giving me a hand.
I have been percolating on making a journal for some time now, along with the card
creating that I do.
I love it!!! Have a wonderful week Wendy and James. I love the way you both are and how you both work together.
I’ve done the same since creating my little ‘art studio’ in a spare bedroom. Being so tiny, mine is all about playtime! And I go to my living room to read, meditate, research & ponder……………
You are my #1 favorite channel!
Haha
Have fun having playtime! And good luck with your new youtube channel :)
Your creative space is quite wonderful. James is so supportive, that's worth more than gold
Thank you.
Thank you too, for keeping me company xx
Great video! My studio is such a "chaos magnet" - Your video has inspired me to clean and organize! Thanks!! ❤🩹❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤍
Ohhh good! Happy tidy up !xxx
Studio looks fabulous. More airy. Love the pegboard. This video is helping me rethink my art area in my home. I'm having a hard time just starting to paint. Thinking I'm having a creative block because of the set up of my area. Thank you and tell James thank you. Have a wonderful week.
I know meee toooo!! Such patience to make such a thing too!!! Good luck with your transformations!!! xxxx
I painted a microwave cart (needed freshening, indeed) as my trolley and have in the past put two back to back with board on top as a standing desk 😀. Use what we have and be happy .hugs.
Soooooo inspiring beautiful and joyful thank you Wendy darling and James 💜💜
You always inspire me when i feel sad and meaningless! I can find happiness and pleasure here!
awww, you in good company here xxx I hope you feel brighter soon xxx coccoon and then pop your head out when you're ready!! xxxx
James is so supportive, you are so lucky. The space looks great.
But the zones are always moving around - i like to spread out!
yes!! Zones are lifechangning!!! xxxx
Your new set up looks great! Looking forward to seeing new creations coming from it. Much love to you and James (he's definitely a keeper) xx
I just love when things are tickity-boo! Although I realize now that I have no idea how to spell it ;) What a happy uplifting space! James was SUPERB on camera. Get loose, dance, and yoga in the middle of the chi space. Definitely tickity-boo! Cheers.
wwwaahhoooo!! xxxx tickity boo! xx
Bright blessings, all.
thanks Belinda xx
Very very cute video. James looks like hes having fun making a space to FLING YOUR PAINT so funny. Hmmm a swing...perfect.
Can we just love James anymore!
These organization/studio space clearing videos have been incredibly inspiring. Thank you so much Wendy❣️🌸🏵🌼🧚
I love your studio, the light, the plants, your beautiful paintings. Thank you for sharing your wonderful light. Oh, I used to have a shelf like your brown one. I gave it away & now I miss it. Hugs!
It's so nice to see James chatting more in the vids!!!
You two are so cute! I love the changes you've made and how you are maximizing your space vertically.
Simply beautiful! Makes me a bit jealous, but I send best wishes for creative flow and joy in your new/redesigned space.
You are so inspiring Wendy the Fairy, I look forward to you videos so much. I am so grateful that I found you
Thanks Wendy and James fantastic video I really enjoyed it so beautiful and inspiring!!! Keep your light shining bright!!!💛 thanks once again!!❤🙂
Hi Wendy. Looking good . Here comes a little tips a big shelf over the daybed were you can put your journals and a little lamp facing Down for cozy reading 🥰👍 big hugs from me .my studio is still water damege ...😒 but later i will get a new wodenfloor.🤩
You are a wonderful couple. You inspire us a lot. Thanks!
Love that when we change our horrible self talk to openness and freedom thoughts the sadness and depression is left upstream! Flow!💝💃
I feel so inspired to tidy up! I think I was having some art block because my space is so cluttered.
I just love your Lady Godiva Painting! I just love looking at it and studying how you painted it💕
Absolutely beautiful brilliantly organised. Also it's nice to get to know your lovely husband, I hope that he'll feature more in future vlogs.
Love your color organization!! Thank you for sharing your journey to an amazing creative space. Totally identify with :31 to 1:10. Keep on flowing 🌈
I love your studio, so inspiring 😊 James is awesome with his cool diys . Thanks for sharing and happy Sunday 😊❤️
I'm in limbo again in temporary accommodation and my art space is also my computer space...it's just filled with piles of things and I can't wait to get settled somewhere with a dedicated working space!
You both are so adorable and fun to watch what you come up with. Wendy happy painting, may you get many inspirations.
Fantastic job and thank heavens for clever James absolutely loving the space now it makes more sense now xx
James and Wendy you are a fantastic team 💙💛🤗🇬🇧😊
Love your heart, and how it presents in your art and disposition. 😊
I know your video is not recent, (saw it today May 2) but just this weekend, I worked in my art studio doing a transformation.
an ultimate breath of fresh air in this studio!
Had fun with it...added a beautiful plant/plant stand for the healthful benefits!
An idea to get a bell that rings by the door when it opens? that way u know if someone is about to enter.
Ohhh wonderful additions to your studio dear love this what you and James Have done so Happy for you, looking so comfy and cozy dear for you to create in
This organzation I loved, it became so airy. ❤❤❤❤❤
Your studio looks fantastic! I love your mindful approach to arranging your workspace to enhance your daily creativity and peace of mind. And yes, thank you to James for his expert advice, painting and carpentry. The paint tube board looks terrific. What a good idea!
