The Wild Side of Dirfi Mountain!

Dirfys is the most important and impressive mountain range of central Evia ! The main peak of Dirfyos, Delphi reaches 1,743 meters and is clearly visible from the whole of Central Greece. It is wild and steep and, with the exception of the mountains of Crete, it is the highest peak in island Greece. In ancient times, it is said that the temple of Hera Dyrphya stood in Delphi , commemorating her marriage with Zeus, which had taken place there. Mount Dirphys was dedicated to her, that's why she was called "Dirphya or Heavenly Hera".
