The only bad thing about Crete is that you need to visit it again and again for the full experience. But on the bright side, even a couple of days won't disappoint you as you can see top notch sceneries and of course amazing food.
Theseus slayed the Minotaur! And I have to say that this video has put Greece at the top of our next travel list! We are waiting for our passport renewals to come back, and then, let the adventures commence!
Hania and the whole Crete is one of my favourite destinations. Have been there many times and will go back for sure. Still good tips in this video and places I havent seen, thank you!
Great video and I'm here now following some of your recommendations. Yesterday we did a round trip from our base in Bali to Knossos Palace, Sisi Harbour, Spinalonga and a little further to Agios Nikolaos. We found your Fredo Cappuccino cafe, the same lady was there and she was nicely surprised to see herself in your video when I showed her! They do great ice cream too with real fruit bits and yes the Fredo is nice.
@HereBeBarr also since been to the monastery, Chania at sunset just about (beautiful), Elafonisi beach and the little outdoor restaurant at Dracona (Dounias/Ntounias Taverne). Again showed the manager the video. Food was great and he was very friendly, piled us up with more food after we were done with mains, left there stuffed! Great recommendations in this video.
We’re going to try to get there in the next few weeks. This is one of the best videos I have ever seen an American make. We plan to see The old Olympic Stadium and Temple of Haephestus in Monastiraki area. We always forget about it. We also plan Acrocorinth. We did enjoy Kerameikos the last time in 2019. Mystras is very interesting and we ended up meeting a Nun there pulling a mule, usually they offer you something. Very nice!
Thesis slayed the Minotaur and used wool to enter and follow his way out the labyrinth I believe. People think the the ruler would dress like a bull for some sort of ritual. Great video.
Beautiful and authentic ! Looks like such a grand time and adventure. I’ve only been to Santorini, nice but obviously missed the a more exclusive journey into Greece. Be awesome to visit for a few days at least - Ty for sharing 👍🍻
Funny - I watch your NYC videos, they're great! Now you're in my back yard in Greece and I found this video when looking up something about Crete :-) Thanks!
Who ever goes to Crete for 5 days is almost a fool without trying to be offensive. I have been to Crete 8 times, each 2-3 weeks. And still have things unexplored. A colleague of mine goes to Greece for the first time and goes 4 weeks to Crete. And THAT us how you should do Crete for the first time. At the absolutely bare minimum 2 weeks. 3 weeks is great ahd 4 weeks is wonderful anount
Hercules was the man who slayed the Bull. The Australian 6th Division alongside with the New Zealanders were on Crete when the German Paratroopers when they invaded the island in 1941 . Yep it certainly looks like food and beach heaven there in Crete 👍👍👍👍
Gorgeous. Had 3 days scheduled last September but had to cancel due to COVID. You’ve given us plenty of ideas once we rebook. Thanks. BTW. Thesus killed Minotaur.
@@HereBeBarr yes I know...just one small thing as far as I know there are travel restrictions from UK to Greece,in fact I don't quite understand how you are able to travel to Greece from the US ? anyhow..I'm OK staying out atm, there are some nice beaches around me here in the UK,only not much sunshine at present and the food doesn't look anywhere near as good !! what about the people, are they friendly? I should imagine Greece is very happy to be welcoming tourists back again...anyhow,not expecting a reply just kind of thinking out loud :) !!!
My kids wife and I have this on our radar for next year. I have a some friends/soccer parents who are from Greece who are convincing me to go and I have decided this to be our next location. Is there a lot of walking as I already like how this looks like a nice backpacking type of journey. Different than the all inclusive vacations we do.
If I knew you were going to Crete I could have offered you free accommodation! I have rental units in Heraklion...lived there 14 years! Glad you got to experience this wonderful island.
@HereBeBarr Love your video's! We go to crete in 2 weeks and i would love to know were in Chania we can try that delicious bougatsa (name of the restaurant/taverna) ? It looks so yummie on the screen too haha ;) Thank you. Your trips are inspiring!
Great video I'm going September. I'll go to that WWII museum. Do you know is there anything from WWII still standing? Like a bunker or something like that?
It was my first time on crete and I have to say, when I came here to make some Videos for my vlog I expected it to be really boring, but actually it IS REALLY WORTH VISITING! just a must see Island

this vid was amazing, can you tell me which hotels you visited in Crete are NOT pet friendly, I want to know which hotels do not allow pets at all.
"I think this is what travelling is about - meeting locals and eating the way they eat" I agree 100% !!
The only bad thing about Crete is that you need to visit it again and again for the full experience. But on the bright side, even a couple of days won't disappoint you as you can see top notch sceneries and of course amazing food.
That is the worst part, ahah

Crete is an amazing place to visit - I was lucky to visit there and seen most of the places in the video
The hidden beach there looks beautiful! That water looks so blue! That is awesome that goats just chill on the beach.
