A short film to coincide with the 2020 exhibition of paintings by Helen Simmonds at Beaux Arts Bath. Produced by Emmy-award winning cameraman Michael Pitts and his son Oliver.
Exquisite work as always by Helen. I love her paintings and it was lovely to see some of the items I have in my painting by her being featured again in her work. The new exhibition looks lovely and many of the tempting pictures seem to have already been snapped up so we will make the extra effort to get over to the gallery once we are freed from lockdown here in Wales. Very interesting film and some delightful photography.
I've been such a fan of Helen's work, although only seen online. I rather yearning to be able to have such a deft touch. This film inspires me as Helen speaks of her dedication to the progress each painting takes and the fundamental elements that she works with. The next one . . . and then the next one. I would so like to see the work at the gallery and see the gallery and met you Aiden who presents our poetic news from Bath. A beautiful and very sensitive film.
