It's because we finally abolished the national selection show that we had from 2011 to 2018 (looking at you Germany) and started to actually cast and prepare our nominees internally and thoughtfully. This work really paid off.

When the Netherlands wins in 2019 and Switzerland finished in 4th, I have said that it was a good start for Switzerland and I hoped that they could win someday after many years of not qualifying, just like what the Netherlands did. Today, it has come true.

Meanwhile, a couple of years ago, the Netherlands had the longest ever NQ streak. Then came Anouk and placed ninth. 6 years later Duncan Laurence took the win. Basically all the proof needed that changing tactics works xD

Switzerland had great songs and musicians at esc… my fav’s are 1971, 1974, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1986, of course 1988 ❤, 1991, 1993, 2000 (seems Al Bano is in the Background 🤩), 2002, 2021, 2023 and 2024. From 2004 on I‘m not surprised so many songs failed to qualify 👀 except 2010, 2013 and 2017… they‘re not that bad in my opinion. But all in all it seems I loved the great ballads and melodic songs from former times more than I like todays modern music 🤷🏼♂️😅

Switzerland had great songs and musicians at esc… my fav’s are 1971, 1974, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1986, of course 1988 ❤, 1991, 1993, 2000 (seems Al Bano is in the Background 🤩), 2002, 2021, 2023 and 2024.
From 2004 on I‘m not surprised so many songs failed to qualify 👀 except 2010, 2013 and 2017… they‘re not that bad in my opinion.
But all in all it seems I loved the great ballads and melodic songs from former times more than I like todays modern music 🤷🏼♂️😅
Switzerland is a powerhouse in 2020s! And also congrats to Nemo! Switzerland won after 36 years after Céline Dion. I voted for Nemo and I'm so happy for them! They absolutely deserved it! Love from Lithuania

I miss the time when countries were required to sing in their national language(s). Now most of the songs are English, which is really a pity
