@@chaitanyabhargava5131not really….all this was easily avoidable…if the mother knew how to keep her legs closed. The other was a 18 year old fool hung up on a woman. And, this lady talking got too much justifications for bs. Easy to know who the sickest is…the mother who cheated on her husband, got her daughter involved in a murder scheme on the heels of her own affair. One bad apple spoils the bunch. One rotten mother took down her own family and two others. And I’m sure they made the blackmailers sound far worse and themselves better…but the dead don’t get to tell their story, right?

typically during 999 calls the operator will stay on the phone after police/paramedics have been dispatched in order to keep the victim calm and advise them on what to do in that situation (instructing on how to do CPR, etc). the questions often seem irrelevant and it is extremely frustrating as a caller but there isn’t much the operator can do after sending help. also, calls are recorded and can therefore provide important evidence/additional information if emergency services are too late.

Most people who commit murder wouldn’t do it if they believed they would get caught. I guess murder might save their image and allow them to keep their perfect family if they didn’t get caught, and we will never know how many people are out there who that worked for. We only know about the ones who it didn’t.

This is beyond the murderers wanting to "save their image". He threatened to make nude pics go viral. He was abusive.
Going beyond this case, there are cases out there that even when victims called the cops on such threats, the cops either ignored, slut shame the victim, or took insufficient actions and gave the perpetrator time to actually post the pics.

The police just said they couldn’t help me. For quite a while I slept with a shotgun by my bed because I would call the police and say he was at my house and I was afraid and they wouldn’t come. Then my ex stalked me for several years after I left. Again, no help. I’m not saying murder is ok, but I’ve been in the place where I was prepared to do whatever it took to save my own life. The number of calls and the context of those calls from the “victim” is extremely telling.

Most people agree and the comment section are talking about the seriousness of his actions, but I think is not more mentioned in the video because he is already dead so there's nothing that the justice system can do(not that they do something about it when it comes to victims, unfortunately). Caring, kind, and compassionate does not accurately describe someone who stalked, abused, and blackmailed. Those actions were not “a little odd” Stephanie. You have to also take into account the mother is someone who lives in a conservative house surrounded by a conservative community. She was married off at a young age to someone she likely didn’t know and had to start having babies. I’m not saying affairs are ok at all. I am saying context is needed. There is a lot of stigma in more conservative communities and having the revenge porn released wouldn’t just mean the end of her marriage, but possibly the end of her entire social structure. The “victim” wasn’t a good person. That’s black and white I’m sorry. He didn’t deserve to die, but I’ve been on the other end of a stalker’s obsession. Police often don’t do much. I was convinced he would eventually kill me and I’m still as anonymous as possible online just so he doesn’t suddenly remember I exist enough to start stalking me again. Context is necessary for this case and I disagree with your takes.

While I'm not saying that he needed to die for his actions, time and again, police have been shown to be next to useless in helping the victim of stalkers and the legal system is ill equipped to protect the poor men and women that are victims of this type of crime. It's not as black and white as Stephanie is making it out to be.

Hard agree, that was an odd take. In the community they live in, where obviously everyone thought jumping someone to teach them a lesson is a perfectly reasonable thing to do on a random weekend, you don't know what the consequences for the mom from this blackmailing would have been. From some incidents in the Muslim community in my country and the group around her that we know of, she might have had legitimate fears for her own life and safety.
Of course, you shouldn't murder someone or have extramarital affairs, but this might have been a situation that is hard to understand for someone who wasn't part of this group or ever in such a situation.
My cousin had a dangerous stalker once, and we all took turns staying with her until he was put into jail, which was a long time. I am glad we live in a community where we were able to talk about it openly, he was just her obsessed neighbour with whom she had coffee one time, but if he had attacked her again and I was there, I don't know if I wouldn't have given him a less than gentle bump with my car.

Stephanie, I usually love your coverage of these cases but I feel a little put off by this one. 100% none the victims deserved to die, and both mother and daughter should pay for planning and commiting murder. However, I feel that it is not right to completely brush off the stalking, harassment and revenge porn (even the deep fakes) as "a little odd" and instead present him as a kind and compassionate person when his actions only show that he was a misogynistic, selfish and abusive liar who thought he could get away with blackmailing his ex bc she broke up with him. Does it mean he should've been killed? No, absolutely not. But let's not present him as a nice and kind person when in reality he wasn't. As others have mentioned the only true innocent victim here is his friend that died by being nice and offering to give him a ride.

@@eveelee4152Lmao Islam is currently the most violent religion to exist. And a woman's purity not only before marriage but after it is so important in Islamic nations that women's lives are taken over it regularly.
If this woman was from a fundamentalist Muslim family, she could have feared that her husband or male family members might murder her to restore the honor of the family name due to her actions. So she decided to restore her honor on her own and murder the man threatening her image within the community. It's always a twisted mess in traditional and religious cultures, because all of them treat women as disposable if they are anything less than perfect, and they take serious action against women in particular who cheat.
And the fact that her family married her off to some guy when she was only young shows me that she's definitely from the kind of Muslim family that would take her actions super seriously since they seem to follow custom. It doesn't justify this guy's death, but all I'm saying is that Islam definitely influenced her actions here due to its obsessions with the ownership of women's bodies by men in a way that often leads to either the murder of the adulterous woman, her partner, or both. There isn't any such thing as letting bygones be bygones when it comes to cheating in Islamic culture. Someone's gonna pay.

When has that ever worked out for us. For victims of blackmail, they DO feel like having to unalive the perpetrator is the only way out. They likely won’t face charges and by snitching on them, you’ve just angered the man enough to leak their personal videos. The blackmailer met his fate and I’m glad it’s one less incel roaming the earth. May the real victims stay well serving their sentences. The worst thing she did was cheat (yes it’s bad but doesn’t warrant blackmail). He escalated the situation all on his own by deciding it was a good idea to abuse women. I guess he met his match. May he rot in his grave. Stephanie, we love you but let’s not forget this is a man’s world. Women are no longer waiting around for the fists to fall on them. Police rarely do their job appropriately. He threatened to harm himself. He allegedly threatened another woman to get his way. Anyone who had/have been on the receiving end of such threats know how absolutely terriying these are. I do not condone murder, but by taking away the terror these threats bring is just misleading.

I honestly think that man’s death was inevitable. If this mother daughter duo hadn’t murdered him then someone else would have. People who have experienced being stalked and blackmailed often feel like there is no way out, especially since police are usually no help unless something severe happens first to the victim. The desperation to get out of a scary situation can cause people to be irrational. I’m not saying he deserved to be murdered, but I feel like with that repeated behavior he would have eventually run into the wrong person.
Also Stephanie, it’s ok to admit that a victim is a horrible person. Describing his actions as “a little odd” is undermining the fear and harassment those women faced. Not everything needs to be viewed with a neutral point of view. He was not a good person and that’s just a fact. The only person I truly feel sorry for is the friend who was driving the car.
