    How has your experimentation of magnacut been going and will you be offering it on blades in the future?

      it pretty much got shelved for a bit. all the "getting ready for winter" projects needed done and then hunting season hit. so when I get caught up with orders and stock for my website then I hope to get back to it.

    If you took that round stock and squared it do you think it would be good for a drifted eye tomahawks?

      i dont know alot about tomohawks, but i think it would make a great hatchet if you wanted to take the time to make one out of it, and id think they would be similar :}

    Superb video Joe. Really enjoy hearing about the larger than life players in the knife industry from years back now. Always blows me away what they were doing; the obvious insight and heck genius for what they uncovered way before the hive mind of the internet and answers to anything and access to everyone at an instant. How is it that at guy like Ed waaaay out in the middle of nowhere comes up with this nuanced understanding that just unlocks a steel like 52100? Something that as you mention, with the wrong handling, appears unremarkable. Utterly charmed as always and I just love hearing about these Goldie Oldie steels that are the antithesis of the latest powder metallurgy hype machine steels...some of them older steels ain't half bad! For your knife to have lasted a season like that? C'mon, what does anyone really need? That many animals...verging on magic! Very generous to get a peak behind the curtain of the time invested as well as the talent and passion you have for knife making and the particular journey you've been on. This is where I'd put the prayer hands emoji! ;)

      i am glad to hear that you are enjoying them! that is something magical that happens when you work in just a small handfull of steels for a long time. you get to know them if you listen. ed used to work in 5160 and then found 52100 and only works in 52100 now.
