      We live in a sexist world. Mad Max is pretty unique in how it features women, for an action movie. The guy's allowed to ask a question about that.

    It's so unfair that there's only one Tom Hardy in the world.

    20:50 Tom Hardy apologizes to George Miller for being a nightmare on set (showing up hours late, doing crazy shit, etc.). The Blood, Sweat, and Chrome book was eye opening for sure, can't believe how much they went through to get such a great movie made.

    George Miller seems supremely confident in his own abilities and intelligence. He is a true visionary and talks as if he was making a 60 minute art film rather than the action behemoth that we all ended up seeing. Basically he's got huge balls.

    Wow I'm a girl but when I was watching the movie I wasn't thinking about the topic of feminism or whether it was a ''man's film'', I just that it was a cool ass movie. But now, I think hell yeah Furiosa was a strong female character and we need to have an even amount of strong female and male characters throughout these films cuz it CLEARLY works out. Mad Max: Fury Road was 10/10

Ugh some people just think that they are above others, very annoying, regardless of the time constraint he must have thought the guy's question didn't deserve to be answered, as if HE was the director. Awesome of George Miller for his ability to give a humble answer and seem genuinely appreciative, you can tell how cultured he is just by doing that.

    George really showed a lot of character at the end by answering the gentleman's question. The moderator made fun of the gentleman's comparison with Casa Blanca when he was only comparing how the actors were communicating so much through their eyes and not through words just as they were in Mad Max. Then he ends the session with out letting anyone answer the question! But George the gentleman that he is won't let that go and answers the poor man. Good for him. Unfortunately it sounded like Charlize was making fun of him too. That says a lot.

    • @cyber797
      @cyber797 9 років тому +41

      david reichelt I don't think she was making fun of him. After the moderator made fun of him for comparing mad max to casablanca and the person asking the question said "that's what I think is terrific", Charlize said "Yeah me too" and I think she said it more to support him, even though her inflection made it sound sort of hesitant. I don't she liked the moderator mocking him either.
      If you look at charlize facial expression a couple of seconds later when the moderator ends it she kind of yanks her head and looks displeased that he wouldn't let them answer the question. Then if you turn the volume up you can hear her say "shouldn't we answer it?" After that when George Miller says "we should answer it" Charlize also chimes in with a "Yeah!"
      hehe I kind of over analyzed this, but i really like her and wanted to make sure she wasn't being a douche. If you ask me, I just think the moderator was being butthurt because he thinks mad max isn't worthy of being compared to casablanca. I really think they should change the moderator.

      @MaxesandDavids 9 років тому +14

    this movie was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. i love it, its my favorite movie of 2015 if not the best movie of the year.
    the cast, the visuals, the story were all incredibly executed. george miller for a 70 year old did hell of a job of directing this movie. tom hardy is one of my favorite actors, he is at the top of his game and he embodied mad max. cant wait to see him as elton john, sam fisher....charlize theron looks stunning, everything she is in she elevates.
    i was disappointed when i heard charlize theron and tom hardy didnt get along while shooting this movie.

Then I saw that it was with Tom Hardy and I became pretty concerned. When I saw the hype of the movie i had hope and when i saw it I got goosebumps. His part was perfect. HE was perfect. Beautifully quiet, scared, but strong. A great character. A great actor.

Working in the desert for 6month can drive some people crazy. Tom respects Charlize’s work and he did said that he wished he knew better back then and gave Charlize the support she needed.

      Yes indeedy, RadioFreeEuropeInExile., albeit with the assistance of 3 major English actors (Tom Hardy, Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley & Nicholas Hoult) and goodness knows how many others who were born there but live here. I see the movie's UK revenues are the highest outside North America (though per capita we're nuttier for it here) so thanks for that too. I hope you do your bit and pay to go and see it at a cinema in London, maybe even in 3D @_@ I've seen it 3 times here in Goulburn, looking forward to a 4th! O_O

    I remember watching Devil's Advocate in 1997. Now almost 20 years later Charlize looks even more beautiful. Such a charming Woman, and funny - episode of "Between Two Ferns" showed how cool self distance she has. Amazing Woman.

    I've been a HUGE fan of Mad Max since the first movie, and I adored this one, so.. don't you worry about the women, it's a wonderful genre either way. I love how Charlize aimed to not play a man but a woman in this wild ride that is Fury Road.

    Miller wanted the thing they were chasing to be human beings, he didn't even think about feminism. Kudos for someone who has that mentality without even trying. He thinks of women as human beings, not women being the "other" or the "them" in "us verses them" mindset.

    If only I could ask, will there be any development in the story of Max and Furiosa's relationship?
    (Ps shipper lol)

      No, mad Max is sort of meant to be a loner and furiosa isn't going to be in any future movies.

    That moderator sounds like all those people who preface their comments before they say something stupid
    "Not to sound racist but....."
    "My friend is gay but......"

    if you count army of darkness as an action film (which it is,if you ask me),then this is not the first action movie where the hero/heroine has one arm or/and a mechanic arm.

    They made sure to separate Charlize and Tom since they didn’t get along. Ironically they’re my two favorite actors, but both intense and strong.

    Good to hear so much from George Miller. Tom and Charlize are brilliant in this movie. Would have liked to hear more from Tom.
    I'm not quite sure what George was referring to when he said he was sorry to hear what happened to Mel Gibson. is it something specific or just that he's been so public with his raging bouts.

      Mel had some issues with alcoholism and brushes with the police. He was persona non grata in the realm of movie-making for awhile.
