Kyle Dean Massey, star of Broadway’s Next to Normal, Wicked, and Pippin, as well as the ABC series Nashville, looks back, not at the things that were, but at the things that weren’t. The songs he heard nightly, the ones he played on guitar or belted in the shower, the ones that made him dance or mended his broken heart … all songs he was not able to share the way he wanted until now.
Every time Kyle Dean sings this song, he does it with the same introduction as if he was reciting it. Hahahahaha I like it though.

what is it with todays generation wanting to rush everything speed/tempo wise, the words and the majestic power of the images that they can convey get muddled with wanting to speed up ballads.

Truth is the pianist is the one who set the tempo.
Ryan Alexander Music it literally is the singers fault. Yes the pianist plays the notes with the tempo but whenever starts saying the words really fast and off tempo like he did in the first verse the pianist has to try and keep up
@@trentsoto6852 I disagree a bit. It's easy to speed a song up as a singer, but not as easy to get someone to slow down with you.

ik this is a year ago, but still I tried to sing it rounder, it doesn't give u that specific flair when u sing it. I think the song has been built is up to the interpretation of the singer cause every performance ive seen, they all have their different takes on the song. And no one could really give u that satisfaction u want maybe because it's a song about wanting something, yearning, which is why we never feel satisfied hearing it from the singers
