    Nice Video! The PVCX is so much easier to use than any piggyback system available for our Indians. Connect, flash, disconnect and ride!
    The Version 2.2 firmware that will be released soon for the PVCX will ignore any hidden files that the MacOS puts on the device. So very soon there will be no issues with using the Mac to copy files over to the PVCX.

      @@ChangingLanes I'm going to put on my cams next week. Was it a noticeable difference versus the flash card from Indian.

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes 6 років тому

      Yes... 2 different things, really. Cams totally change the timing, and gives you that nice lob lob lob sound. New Cams, of course, also require an ECU flash so they kind of go together (pretty sure the dealer will require the flash to install the cams). I chose to re-tune (after the factory cam tune) using FuelMoto's tunes via the Dynojet. Hope that makes sense. -chad

    Nicely done. I got the PVCX from FM as well and I've gotten there tune & a tune from DJ. To me the FM tune is a bit more aggressive with the A/F and also the throttle. I feel as if the DJ map runs a light lean-er. I don't get the same gas mileage with FM map but it runs great and has excellent response.

    • @ChadsStuff
      @ChadsStuff  7 років тому

      Agreed.. I've compared the two (DJ vs FM) also and like the FM maps much better!

      I noticed the tune I was sent from FM has no top end horsepower. Original stock tune was actually faster (especially higher RPM's) I haven't tried the DJ tunes yet but I am hoping there is one that focuses more on Power.

    Mine never did go to that sleep mode or power off by itself. It did idle higher and seem to run better but maybe that was in my head.

    crazy question. can u use the PVCX to pull ur master pin? if not is there anyother way besides going to the dealer to pull my master pin??

      I'm getting that less now that I keep a tender on the battery. In fact, keeping a tender on the battery seems to solve a few issues I've had lately since we started full time RVing and she has to stay outside with a cover. I still have the stock battery though. Might be time to replace it.

    Hey Chad I love your videos, I have a chieftain dark horse with the same mods. I am getting ready to do the intake and cams, I was wondering what the difference is between this tuner and the tune they will put on it after the cam install at the dealership?

    • @ChadsStuff
      @ChadsStuff  4 роки тому +1

      The big difference is the dealer has to put an EPA compliant tune on it which runs leaner and hotter. The FuelMoto tunes are much better IMO. -chad

    I know dynojet offers a map for my freedom exhaust and lloyd air kit just diwoad that tune and I'm good. Also I do not have the ride command on my bike so how do I keep it powered on without it shutting off on me

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes 6 років тому

      Not sure about that. Guessing it wont shut off while being flashed, but you might want to call dynojet (or FuelMoto if you bought from them).

    Thanks for taking the time. But why would any one want to use a MAC and the 1970's DOS format?? To each their own I guess. You have certainly shown a lot of people, buy a Dobeck EJK. It is sooooo very much simpler.

    • @ChadsStuff
      @ChadsStuff  7 років тому +3

      Well.. it's Linux underneath... If you're running Windows, it's DOS underneath. Every OS has a command line interface that is faster and simpler if you know what you're doing. The trouble with the Dobek, IMO is it has to run piggy-bak and sort of trick the ECU... I'd rather just program the ECU. And if one wants to delve into the bones of it and really tweak the settings, a programmer is the only way to go... And there's nothing to install... But to each his own.

      Chad Florian . I’m a rider, not a software engineer. Thank God I have a Dobeck EJK. I’ve always had to re-jet my dirt bikes richer. After getting my Indian Springfield I did the same thing, only electronically. It runs so much better now. I wish I was computer savvy, like my (computer systems engineer) son. But I bet he wishes he had grease monkey skills like me. Ride on!

    I had my dealer put the exact same pipes on my Roadmaster as well as cams and air cleaner. It makes all kinds of noise now almost like it is low on oil with chirping sound. Did yours do this and would this PVCX fix it do you think?

    • @ChadsStuff
      @ChadsStuff  7 років тому +1

      No... Mine sounds great. As noisy as any air cooled 1811cc v-twin I suppose. Sounds like you have what is commonly called a "clacker" on the Indian forums. Check out: www.indianmotorcycles.net/search/171175961/?q=clacking&o=relevance I'd be curious to heat what it sounds like if you can post a video?

    • @Ob1Love
      @Ob1Love 7 років тому +1

      Mine ran like a sewing machine until they put the cams in her. Then the noise of chirping and clacking. I was told it's normal, but when it was such a big change and constant at certain steady RPM's no matter what gear I called Polaris. They called the dealer and poof a new flash update that did tone it down a bit. I did it at 451 miles and I only have just under 900 now. But I believe the PVCX ECU is the ticket. Thank you for all you share. I LOVE my Roadmaster ... I just want my engine back quiet and smooth again. I have only MACs so your video is perfect for me. Can't begin to thank you enough. I live in Florida as well ... Indian Harbour Beach.

    Won't they just send you the pvcx with your tune already on it and you just plug it in and not have to use your computer?

    • @ChadsStuff
      @ChadsStuff  7 років тому

      I think that *used* to be how they did it a few firmware revs ago... the way it's set up now, they have to get the TuneCMP number from your bike before they can send you a tune. But FuelMoto is super fast at turnaround and if they're backed up for some reason, you can go on dynojet's site and use theirs. I like to load both and compare, but I've always chosen FuelMoto's tunes.
