When you said "this guy is mostly dead" I couldn't help but think of The Princess Bride 😂
Thankyou sir, for this information about the dark pitchers, I thought my one was half dead. Much appreciated from England uk
What are the black patches of mold on your plants I find myself having small spots like that as well in my greenhouse on my plants but it rubs off easily what is it! also I have an air drop humidifier in my small 12x12 greenhouse I have been using BOOGIE BLUE PLUS+ (High-Capacity Filter)
Resin-Ion Exchange Carbon + Maximized KDF Content on my city water and it takes the chlorine and cholrimine out of my water! its designed for plants that are sensitive! my question is my plants have a small film of white powder on them so does my greenhouse! its been like that for a few months but hasent affected my plants yet im curious if it might be the salts/ minerals in my water that are still present after filtration that's building up? any suggestions!?
Interesting clippers!
a helpful video - thanks ! also, where can I get such clippers ?
I just bought a Nepenthes.. but almost all the leaves’ tendrils , the end tips are all dried up. There were a few pitchers but they were all dead.
So I cut off the pitchers . Shud I nip off the tips of the tendrils also? Please advise… thanks 🙏
I just got my nepenthes. A small plant but have 3 pitchers on it and 2 comming. Do I put water in the pitchers?
Sir I need help. I got one as a gift in the mail but all the pitchers are half brown, the plant itself is green. The inside of the pitchers are dry too. Should I just cut them all off? Please help it’s my first nepenthes.
Hey Brad, what do you do to clean mould in your greenhouse? I was thinking vinegar, but I don’t know what effect any door might have on the neps.
+Chris Waldron i use bleach, just not on the plants
I bought one of these for the first time at the beginning of the year and now it is starting to turn black. I don’t know what to do. Can you please help me?? I love the plant.
Very nice. I tend to go by Jeff's advice from Sarracenia Northwest. When you can't stand to look at the pitchers anymore; cut them off. But I've also cut the dead top half and leave the live bottom. Just depends how I want to call it. And my outside pitchers tend to die all the way and then I cut them. I have a lot too so I don't always have time to go plant by plant as you said.
thanks!
nice video, thank you.
Where do you get your plants from? I'm looking to purchase my wife another nepenthes!!
Hello, if it's a picture plants need to be filled or do they secrete something when a bug gets in there?
Do not fill them, they create the fluid themselves just let them be.
Hi, I enjoy your videos! I recently received my 1st pitcher plant in the mail, and all the pictures are empty. What if anything do I do about this, please? Thank you
Lol! As soon as I asked my question you answered it on the video! Thank you.
Will nepenthes self-regulate their fluid level? For example, if you fill too much (or they get rain in it), will they absorb that water (or will it evaporate?)
👍🏼
Will new pitchers grow from where you cut it off the tip of the leaf? Or pitchers only grow with new leaves?
It will only be off of new leaves
Can I add pictures?
Great video
My hybred makes lil hooks but not goes to the pitcher, I spray.I cut off the leaves( bottom ) without a hook. ?? Ok why no pitchers, coffee feet. R.O. water everyday thanks
Are you sure that you put water in the pitchers because I put some in my first nepenthes and the pitcher died
did you use distilled?
Hey Brad! I've been watching your channel for a while and it's helped me so much to understand and grow carnivorous plants. I've always had a special place for these and would love to get some varieties you have in the greenhouse. I've asked you before but I wasn't sure if you sell them at all? I'd love to purchase a few and do a review on my channel, I talk about your channel and what you grow all the time. We live in Central Florida so these thrive in the humidity here all year long.
Why would the tops close? Does that mean they caught something?
Do a bromeliad tour
Thanks for all your good information, Brad. Just a quick question. If your plant hasn’t got any effective pitchers but is starting plenty, how can I keep the plant fertilized?
Maxsea folar spray at that point
Good video :)
ok boomer
He didn't even deserve this 😂
