- Demonstration of how I made a few baby rattles from Maple & Walnut and also Hawiaan Acacia (Koa) wood using a wood lathe. I used popcorn kernels inside a drilled hole. Many possibilities for different shaped baby rattles. I finished my rattle with food safe butcher block conditioner, which is made up of beeswax and mineral oil.
This is one of the simplest, most beautiful baby rattle projects I've seen, thank you so much for sharing, I need to get a lathe and learn to use it now!
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks from Puerto Rico.
I really miss this class
I hope you get another opportunity to build. Thanks for saying so. .. Mr. Mann
Nice Job. I need a baby rattle measures.
I make mine from a block measuring about 3" x 1.5" x 1.5".
Is this the Michael Mann that produced ' last of the Mohicans '........:)...?
I’m not that one. That one also did the tv show Miami Vice, I believe:)
What size hole do you drill? How many kernels of corn do you use?
@@matthewmccord4175 I believe I drilled a 7/8” hole and used about 10 kernels of corn. I have switched to using bb’s for my baby rattles, they make more noise.
may I know the dimension of the wood plates please ??
Very sorry for such a late response to your question. I make mine from a block measuring about 3" x 1.5" x 1.5".
