About 10 years ago my 9.6v Dewalt batteries were toast, and that drill was from the 90's. Found a Black and Decker 9.6v battery about 1/4 the price of Dewalt. Had to trim a tab on the battery, and it worked. But the Black and Decker battery lasted only about a year.
Just curious would the porter cable battery fit into a b&d 2 amp rapid charger? I got a 20v b&d vaccum to review and ended up getting a drill from goodwill to use 20v with. If I get a saw or something wondering if other batteries fit into the rapid charger I got.
I have black and decker stuffs and batteries but ide like a portable fan to take to ball games. I cant find one online for BD. Ide rather not buy another brand and have multiple batteries. Any thoughts? Will bd batteries work in stanley/dewault since they are already without the grooves and such?

I have been trimming Porter, cable, batteries, and black and decker batteries to switch back-and-forth for years now.

Lithium batteries don't have as long of a shelf life, unfortunately.

Very impressed the porter cable batteries work with a little modification on the stanley and the black and decker tools
The operate with 0 modification on the Stanley tools, since they're the same exact thing as Porter Cable!
I have 2 of the porter cable batteries, they won't fit my B&D weed eater. Both batteries are 20 V lithium
I use adapters from amazon all my batteries fit every thing I have even a works weed trimmer
stanley, porter cable, dewalt, craftsman , bd and dewalt all the same company.
Don't forget Mac Tools, Lenox, Irwin, Proto, and Facom.

It fits l, as long as you cut the notch out.
What model Porter Cable battery did you use?
The PCC685L, but any Porter Cable battery will work as long as you modify the tabs.

Look for a fan, and look online for a battery adapter. Usually eBay has a lot of different ones

I'm not sure. But, they'll still work in the Porter Cable 20v line

I just had to cut a notch on the other side of the battery. Other than that, there are no other mods.
