    Steel mesh size for best application ....?

      Our stainless steel reinforcing mesh comes as one 5 inch by 10 inch sheet. We just cut the sheet to the size we need to fit the area.

    How do you tell the difference between polyethylene and polypropylene plastics?

    • @polyvance
      @polyvance  Рік тому +3

      The easiest way is to look for an ID symbol. Polypropylene is usually >PP< or >PP+EPDM< and polyethylene is >PE< or >LDPE< or >HDPE.
      If there is no identification symbol, you can do a weld test with polypropylene and polyethylene filler rod to see which one sticks.

      @@polyvance I've searched all over my ATV plastics for these symbols. Are ATV plastics typically PP or PE?

      @@moaski Most are HDPE, but a few are PP. Look under the rear fenders up near where the strut is mounted. They are hard to find and are usually in the dirtiest place, covered in oily grime and mud.

    Is there a EU distributor/sales point?

      I'm not sure if any of our international distributors stock this particular welder. WOW Autobody Technologies in the UK carries the Mini-Weld Model 7.
      Where are you located? You can email us at info@polyvance.com with your details and inquiries.

    Please show the comparison results with brand new!

      We didn't have a brand new fender to compare with. A local customer brought this in to be repaired. He just wanted it to be repaired; he didn't want it to be painted.

      @Polyvance, Is it possible to recover to brand new state ?

      @@MotoERS Only if you have an an exact match for color. Which you could do using a scrap piece from another part, or if there is a hidden edge someplace you can take a shaving off of to use as filler rod....or you might get lucky with the color of the welding rod from Polyvance. Unless you are doing a restoration, most people with dirtbikes really don't care if it looks perfect, they just want the part to perform its function and not fall off, without spending a fortune to replace plastic.
