      ​​@@howtobenormal5497the Dagor engine is not to blame, it would be very easy for Gaijin to just increase the render distance (with the performance hit that entails), they just don't want to
      It's important to mention that along with vehicle render another big problem is terrain render distance, there's a preset distance at which high res terrain stops being loaded and it switches to a low res version, which makes vehicles invisible because even though they're rendered in they're clipping through the ground which isn't actually the real ground but the low res one, which blocks your view. That as well could be easily fixed

      ​@@nothingelseyt4340 The problem I have is how they handle low-resolution versions of certain elements, like maps. For example, when you're only 6km away from a tank on the ground, instead of rendering properly, it starts sliding around and disappearing beneath the ground. I've encountered this issue several times while using GBUs for laser targeting.
      To illustrate, let's say I'm flying over the battlefield looking for targets. So, I use the thermal camera and spot it at around 6km away from me. I lock onto it, but when I switch away from the camera (remember, the lock is still on and should automatically track the tank perfectly), and pitch my plane up to get out of the SAM range, the lock instantly disappears. It's as if the game engine assumes that since I'm not actively looking at it, I can't see it anymore. As a result, it stops being rendered, even for the camera that is supposed to "lock" onto it. To regain the lock, I have to go back to the camera, lock onto it again, and then I'm stuck inside the camera view until the bomb hits.
      I fucking WISH the range for rendering was 15km, its more like 6-7km and out to 15km its just a slidy mess that makes it infinitely harder to bomb accurately, even if you are locked onto the slidy tank going beneath the ground 9/10 they are not even there, they are not where the slidy mess is happening, they have moved out of the blast radius of the 500 pound bomb already.

      You can really notice this crap in heli battles too, sometimes vehicles hitbox will be 50 meters away from where they look like, and they will even be under the ground

    It has 70 second guidance so you can't hit its theoretical max range still. It's track range for tanks is still similar to existing TV guided missiles as well. Though can be good to hit stationary SAM players.

      Max range I found for spotting top tier SAM system players on the ground is only 16km, less than half of the max range of the MiG-29SMT's Kh-29TD. Player tanks simply de-render at that 12-16km range, depending on their visibility on the stat card, the max value is only 250% visibility and that is still only enough to see player SAM at 16km.

    I got a laser guided bomb kill from 22.5 km away on a player tank in a real battle yesterday and I was at the "return to battlefield" border by the time the bomb exploded on the target.
    If there is one thing I can tell you about this KH-29TD it is that you will never be able to spot a player tank from farther than 12-16km (depending on the tanks visibility statistic) because at those extreme ranges the tanks simply de-render. I believe they added this feature a while back to combat cheaters who use ESP.
    Even if the if the MiG-29SMT had a thermal targeting pod, it would be impossible to spot any tanks at the KH-29TD max range because they are invisible and most ground realistic tank battlefields are only 20km from the map border @ 13km altitude to the center of the tank battlefield.
    This missile is definitely a gimmick in war thunder but I hope that some day they will make it so that player tanks don't disappear at such ranges and increase the ground battles maps airspace border before it returns you to battle by 2 or 3 times.

    Usually the stat cards lie, yes on paper it could reach 35km but at optimal conditions like launch speed and altitude, whilst in practice, they should be launched at half the range they're rated for so in this case 15km shots are below are recommended

    Weird how this missile with a 35km range can lock from 35 km like it should, but the French PGM-500 and PGM-2000 have a 50 km range, yet can only lock from 25 km...

      Supposed to carry 6, but got 2 presumably for "balance" then they added an even vehicle that is an older model with 4. Also, Su-39 carries R-27s irl

    The Su-25T, Su-25BM, and Su-39 should have this missile idk why it dosent have it but if they ever did add this to the Su-25bm or Su-25T i would 100% use this in sim.

    The top tier CAS problem in grb has to be fixed. Best way to do that I would say is to have each map contain AI CRAM type weapon sites to shoot down all or most incoming munitions. One or two at each spawn, one or two at each cap, and maybe some between spawn and cap on each side for larger maps. make the engagement bubble large enough to cover the points and spawn, but not too large they cover the entire ground map. That way ground vehicles traveling outside the bubbles have to be more careful as they move due to larger threat of CAS. Also maybe vehicles with this functionality, I want HEMTT CRAM.

      @@comranw5465 There would still be plenty of people not protected with my idea. and the HEMTT CRAM couldn't do it's job while moving, it would have to stop and deploy. But you won't find a bleeding heart from me about CAS, fuck CAS.

    I’ve always liked mavericks over the original Kh-29 simply due to the fact that you can almost always carry more mavericks and the mavericks can hit targets from 22km, compared to the Kh-29’s 13-12km. Now- I’ll have to try these out!

      the key difference is your can hit targets with the Mavericks but with the Russian stuff you can kill targets.

    Guys look at the ingame controls of the tank I just see there controls for UGV launch( Unmanned ground vehicle ) and under that we got Mine detonation. So could it be the ww2 Goliath there was a tank carrier that could drop those uvg mines

      They had an event where it was PVE everyone in sturmpanzers you could also control goliath mines and 75mm AT guns against waves of enemy tanks. Since then they never removed those keybindings. Could mean that they still plan to add those type of weapons, but also could just mean the devs are lazy. Both are likely.

    There is a large chance at the ranges you are testing that the ground is actually being locked instead of the tank since its so far. Still this is gonna be wild to have russia's first competent mulitrole fighter

    depending on how good your pc/gpu is the rendering of vehicles at long distances changes. The stronger PC and GPU the further distance you can render vehicles in.

      @@Iceyyyyylol 100% agree and that if you play with a controller you get aim assist as well. I would have loved an option to still play competitively and not have to cross play. Never encountered more BS play than with console players up to and including hackers.

      The su 25 cant carry 8, just 2 the most inner pylons, the others can only guide kh 25 or s25, btw the mig 29 can only carry 2 of them aswell

      The SMT is the best plane in air rb with it's missles, why would you also make it the best in ground? And also russian teams already got the Pantsir so the mig29 has no competition in the sky anyways. There is as of now no counter against the mig29 smt aswell as the pantsir so i dont see a reason on why you should buff the mig29 even more. Russian teams are already op they dont need buffs or upgrades in capabilities as of now.@@larry8437
