I know it’s just a game… but I have been playing both splatoons 2 and 3 with my daughters and wife for a bit now. It has actually become part of family time. We tried our best to overfish but quickly realized how hard it was. Couldn’t brake 148… seeing this team absolutely kill it was awesome! Btw we have learned allot from you Haz. Keep up the great work! We all look forward to your training vids :)
That's so so sweet!! Splatoon as a family game, parents and children! This comment made my day. Keep at it, that's a great score and most importantly you're getting fun and bonding time with your fam ✨ Mr. Grizz recruiting an entire family to get some golden eggs is also a very funny concept 🤣
That. Was. GODLIKE!! The flow of movement! The optimization! The sheer pure skill over luck in this run alone... This is just beautiful art in Splatoon form. I'm sure their pyramid is way more insane than ours seeing that the first 3 teams cracked over 300 eggs.
@Jwvermillion apparently there were regional splatfests in s2 or something. Some of it had to do with cultural interpretation (like the unicorns vs narwals splatfest).
I wanted to point this out too! The brella was getting a lot of the Chinooks with egg throws during Mothership, and they used the egg throw to finish off some Chum or softened Cohocks as well without having to take the time to shoot again.
17:38 I was wondering why the 3rd inkstrike didn't go for the Drizzler too but then i realized it was actually going for the Lessers spawning at shore for uninterupted and easier egg collection. That was actually insane, it looks like they only missed the Fish Stick strike
this was soooo cool to watch! hazmy, you and sensei's commentary was great! i mean, i'd love for you to do more of this in the future...if you ever feel the need to. please thank sensei for us, enjoyed having both of your commentary!
That is an impressive score! It is so satisfying to watch how flawlessly they cruise through these difficult waves! I wish we could have watched the other players' perspectives as well!
Really admirable! The perfect Flyfish kill on Wave 5 and that Reefslider shortly after are so satisfying. I could rewatch that part many times and not get tired of how smooth and calculated their movements are. The co-commentary was cool as well. Sensei sounds like they may have a German or Dutch accent. I've made friends from all over the world through Splatoon and it's so fun playing with different kinds of people. Couldn't participate much this time around, but I'm hyped for the Junction one, whenever that will happen
I LOVE WATCHING THEM PAINT EARLY IN WAVE 3. The end of Freelance for this event had SO MANY people abusing the "THIS WAY" to stand at the top of the entrance to low tide doing NOTHING. It was painful.
Another pretty much unnoticed strat they used in W3 is the "fire extinguisher". They deliberately stall the steelheads for a single cycle but manipulate them to throw their bomb in the water, making them harmless.
I only did that on accident a couple times over a weekend of eggstra work. It was satisfying watching the steelhead pitch their bomb into the drink. ;)
We have the slosher's POV too! They went immediately on the fishstick that the inkstrike missed and it honestly seems as if the slip up didn't happen The sequence is here: ua-cam.com/video/8Zcoeu6H5Pw/v-deo.html
Everything they do, they think, the way they cooperate is just flawless... Pretty fond of the smooth double kills on the lids at wave 5, because I tend to go on one lid in order to splat the others and then kill the one I'm in. The way the player switches and go up to the next lid was smooth as hell... This is motivating to better me as a a passionate Salmon Runner...!!
What an impressive team! So coordinated, and they executed all their moves so well. No movements were wasted, they utilized everything as much as they could. This definitely requires hours of practice and skillful execution. Congrats to them!
15:26 I think one of the reasons they stayed in the canons-besides safety-is to optimize the power egg count, because it would be used as the tiebreaker when going for first place
Thanks for showing and talking about this awesome run, it's definitely inspiring! What got me was seeing the badges for only evp200 and 100 drizzler splats on the banners - they're probably just there so you underestimate them but it definitely made me do a double-take, lol.
Getting a high score in Eggstra Work, for me, feels like an FFXIV savage raid. While it's really hard, everything is scripted, so it's just a matter of figuring out what works and then perfecting that mechanical execution with a group. Also the egg throw blast radius is a really useful weapon! It goes exactly 100 damage, so I always know I can kill chums with it.
I spent Wave 1 inking everything. That team had everything inked. IMO, that’s part of a good team and strategy. So many times, I’m one of the only ones inking.
I can only dream to have this level of skill, and such a coordinated team, I’m taking notes! I love strategizing in this game but unfortunately I wasn’t able to play with my friends this time and had to settle for freelance, so I hope next time I get the chance.
So is it for mothership waves, the faster you kill the chinooks the more chinooks will spawn? I was looking at my game stats and in some games, only 60 eggs spawned on mothership and in other games 80. I'll keep this in mind from now on. Also, I'm excited for the next eggstra work too, this one was really fun to play.
I recommend you try strategies that improve different aspects of your gameplay one at a time. If you just focus on "being the best" all at once it won't be fun and sooner or later you won't even see the point anymore. If you continue enjoying your games while keeping an eye out for possible improvements there's nothing stopping you from becoming an amazing player. Same as most things in life, you can do it friend! :)
@neon_quest well I am awesome at Salmon runI learned their strategists in salmon run, and I got top 5% on everything, so I'm still good at this and i got some gold boss salmonid badges
@neon_quest I got steelhead, fish stick, stinger, drizzler, scrapper, slammin lid, flyfish, and flipper flopper as my gold badges and I have 3 left which is maws, steel eel big shot and the king salmonids
Sad thing I have is my random teammates were all messing around and they were all getting splatted under 10 seconds starting from Wave 3 And my record is only 173 eggs
Man, imagine The Great Turf War from s1 but with salmonids. Put these guys on the front lines. Also does anyone know how much damage the cannons do? Do they also have piercing? I always wonder because I think I can one shot something but am never sure.
It's widely believed that cannons do 400 damage because they one-shot Cohocks not only in direct contact, but also the splash damage doing that much as well...up to like a certain distance away from the blast zone where damage potentially falls off... With the damage being 400, it's 50 points away from killing bosses, but it does one-shot Steelheads as they only have 350 health. EDIT: Oh and no the shots don't pierce, but they have a very big splash range.
@Jwvermillion thanks. Also if you go to the training room in salmon run and find the high up Balloon with a steelhead sticker on it, that Balloon has the same amount of hp as a steelhead which is 300 actually. Just wanted to point that out. Thanks.
Do the pools work for you guys? I literally can’t get anyone to join me. I am always sitting for 10 minutes waiting to fill a room. Yes I send out invites.
Wave 1 is like the Monastery in Fire Emblem 3 Houses. It’s hardly interesting at all in repeat playthroughs on new houses, but it has to be there to facilitate growing of your units in the way you chose to - you couldn’t skip it or the balance would become weird That said, I think both of them are kind of design failures. The fact that they’re necessary but not interesting isn’t all that fun unless in 3H you happen to really enjoy that planning part, or pay extra attention to the few unique lines you get from picking a new house. The proper solution would be to add more elements to make them feel unique each playthrough - maybe wave 1 could be a unique part of the set where only it is random? But the boss limit is capped to 7, so there isn’t any benefit you get, you simply have to do something different to get the same result.
343?!?!?!?!?!?!? NOWAY BRO WTF, they say all races are equal but Japanese asians are DIFFERENT, if we ever wanna get on that level we better start working on our reaction time, this is mad

Wow I am so good. I got just as many eggs as them wave 1
Bro same. That is crazy 😂😱
At 18:41, the brella pre-damages the big shots so the reefslider will always kill

That is worldwide pyramid!
The overall limit for eggs possible in the whole waves should be 333. Why? LORE that's why. Idk just an idea
Oh that's the worldwide pyramid? Interesting...and here I thought it was all regional-based...
@Jwvermillion apparently there were regional splatfests in s2 or something. Some of it had to do with cultural interpretation (like the unicorns vs narwals splatfest).
I love the perfomance!
One of the underrestimated weapons: Egg throw!
There are many people, who doesn't use the extra damage with an egg throw.
I wanted to point this out too! The brella was getting a lot of the Chinooks with egg throws during Mothership, and they used the egg throw to finish off some Chum or softened Cohocks as well without having to take the time to shoot again.
Such beautiful ink management with that extra 100 damage
17:38 I was wondering why the 3rd inkstrike didn't go for the Drizzler too but then i realized it was actually going for the Lessers spawning at shore for uninterupted and easier egg collection. That was actually insane, it looks like they only missed the Fish Stick strike

you can do that with horrorboros' booyah bomb too!
Imagining the salmonids still underwater like "bro where u aiming >:("
Thank you Hazmy and Guest for the commentary and breakdown! I really appreciate it. It does help me consider how to grow better!
Very proud I was able to match that performance in wave 1
We have the slosher's POV too! They went immediately on the fishstick that the inkstrike missed and it honestly seems as if the slip up didn't happen
The sequence is here: ua-cam.com/video/8Zcoeu6H5Pw/v-deo.html
Great idea for a video and great commentary from you and Sensei. Thanks for all the effort you put into your content!

Probably spin up new Nintendo Online accounts every event to keep everyone guessing. Lol

Did you see that Gungee posted a 99 egg Mothership run? Unfortunately it didn't make it into his final record, but it was extremely impressive
I spent Wave 1 inking everything. That team had everything inked. IMO, that’s part of a good team and strategy. So many times, I’m one of the only ones inking.
Hats off to these players. 🎩
Damn you should make a tutorial on how to weaponize egg throws
I can only dream to have this level of skill, and such a coordinated team, I’m taking notes! I love strategizing in this game but unfortunately I wasn’t able to play with my friends this time and had to settle for freelance, so I hope next time I get the chance.

Holy smokes! That was so cool =D
What about putting a night wave wave 1 to make it less trivial?
It's impressive how they always try to make use of the egg throw explosion and every little tip possible oO
Well all I can say is that it will never be me
I really wish that i was good like them

Holy shit, that is 101 more eggs then what me and my team got.
When I saw the quantity(343) that left me completely flabbergasted, how can they be that good?
Sad thing I have is my random teammates were all messing around and they were all getting splatted under 10 seconds starting from Wave 3
And my record is only 173 eggs
Hey Hazmy,
Do you have some tips for getting the golden eggs to the basket as fast as possible?
Thank you😊
the japanese people always have the SMOOTHEST movement when they overfish

They made almost no mistakes
I would have gotten to bronze but i kept losing at cohock charge😬
21:20 they leave that one egg on the shore, really sloppy playing guys. Could’ve gotten 92, cmon. 😜
Do the pools work for you guys? I literally can’t get anyone to join me. I am always sitting for 10 minutes waiting to fill a room. Yes I send out invites.
Are you in HazCoSummer?
I’ll look to see if I’m in the updated pool! I’ve been looking everywhere to make sure but I couldn’t find the updated code! Thank you :)
Bruh, i got more than 143 eggs.
