Salute to the subscriber for recommending this video! Yall did great on the rundown of the info. I was sleeping on the buoy, weight belt, and fins. 👍 for the examples/story time. After watching four or five videos, I was ready to jump in the water. Since last month I've had my eye on that 2x Blinky tako #VENTURE 🤙

Great informational video. I still think you are one of the best fish and dive channels for the community and Hawaii at large. Everyone doesn't have all the resources and money to spend on equipment, travel, sponsorship and time like a lot of the other local channels feature. However, you tirelessly show and explain how if you have interest you can enjoy this sport and become very productive through initiative and hard work. It is a shame that viewership rewards those channels that, not to single anyone out, feature literally a high school aged kid using thousands of dollars of equipment obviously from great privilege beyond an average Hawaii youth telling about how they go out and shoot an ulua, heck may as well bought it from a store. These guys are NO COMPARISON to what guys like you do. For whatever its worth keep up the spirit, hard work and true devotion to what you do and I will continue to support!

Sure was! Im glad I got the honu freed in time.. And ya thanks for pointing that out.. I always try to take only what needed.. I was lucky enough to have an O.G. in my life.. My uncle used to dive.. he pretty much lived in the water lol.. And when I started diving.. He would always mention to only take what's needed..
I also seen a huge decrease in fish in a short period of time.. Made me realize that being greedy has a negative impact..
But ya thats super cool your dad dives.. Im sure he has some crazy experiences in the water and it must've been cool diving in a time where the fish were everywhere!

Every time I watch your videos they crack me up. I got that same Ulua print venture wetsuit and I learned the hard way about that sun. Came out the water with my legs burnt to hell after 3-4 hours!🤣

true bro, the tinted mask for some reason, make everything in the water more dark. Even though the hammerhead masks says other wise, I have one and can say, it makes everything more darker, clear lens all the way! If you are worried about fish seeing your eyes, just look down, learn from unko Royce. Yessah

Where do you keep the dive line attached to now?
Good Question Bro.. I attached a 2lbs weight from my old weight belt to the end of the line.. I carry the weight in one hand and my gun in the other.. When I’m ready to hunt an area.. I drop the weight which anchors down the float.. it’s waaaay better that way bc now I’m free to move around without a line attached to my gun. I also don’t have to carry the weight of the float and Kui. There’s less tangles on the reef and I even feel like fish can see the line .. so I usually anchor the float way before a pile of fish.. It’s just way more freedom to dive that way imo lol Then when I’m ready to try a different area.. I just grab my line and drop it at the next spot

What are your thoughts on using a load assist when using a powerful gun?
I never used a load assist.. I think you would only need to use one when using a roller gun? 🤔 I was able to load mines without one so I never tried it

We grew up diving with unko guys no mercy!!! 🤣🤣 first 10 or so dives u jus pulling da gallon shoyu bottle or any recycled float with all da dead fish n no moa even one spear 🤣🤣 should’ve been child abuse!!! Fkn sitting duck for da tax man luckily neva come by. Then had to save up money for buy my first three prong from long drugs neva have walmart only had maui sporting goods n was triple da price go figure. Das pretty much how i started off.
