Hello! Thank you for taking a look at this video. This is the 3rd deltarune sprite animation, and by far the most ambitious. There are some heavier elements here that I really hope come across as intended. Ralsei's isolation prior to chapter 1 is a known trauma our prince has suffered through, and yet I rarely see a focus on this part of his character. I wanted to portray it's harshness, but not hang on it's sorrow. The theme of this short is intended to be Ralsei's recovery. If you like dry atmosphere and optimistically sad little guys who are also goats and named Ralsei, you'll probably like this one haha.
(I promise the next video wont be a 4th in a row with a Ralsei focus. I just cant help myself!!! I love this silly little goat and his many problems.) (Also P.S. Just throwing this out there. I might do a PMD explorers video soon? Maybe! I was working on one before working on this video. It may come out...one day...!)
Just finished the video! You did an amazing job covering this part of Ralsei's character!! Always felt like his isolation and the effect it had on him will eventually be a much bigger part of the story, and the way you highlighted it here was just so MUAH beautiful!
It's nice to see that this acknowledged that Susie isn't dense. Susie recognized that Ralsei just wasn't doing okay and while she didn't immediately act on it or know how to fix it, she's learned since the first two chapters how to respond appropriately.
Chapter 1 was in a lot of ways almost centred on Susie and her struggle to show emotions, chapter 2 Susie has her being leagues more open and finding joy in grabbing her friends by the hand to go on a cute fair adventure. Susie is far from dense, her character's theme is about learning to show affection. Im glad you can see Susie's growth too :)
in a fandom full of people wanting Ralsei to be a big twist villain, i'm glad there are people like you who see him for who he is. just a lonely prince who wants friends. not an evil mastermind, not a disney twist villain who was evil all along. just a sweet little boy
Ralsei being a twist villain is silly and in my opinion, a choice Toby would never make. People are skeptical of Ralsei because of how pushy his kindness is, but when considering he's been alone all these years and is desperate to play out this legend he's been told, it starts to make sense why he'd act the way he does. Particularly around Kris, since Ralsei is seemingly one of the only other characters who knows of the soul's existence. Ralsei, at most, will have a twist of doing something he was told is good, but is actually harmful. There is a lot of depth to Ralsei's character, saying he will be a twist villain makes me so upset because it means throwing aside all that depth in favour of "what if the kind person was actually evil". It's just so shallow. I am however, very excited to see Ralsei take on an antagonistic roll in the snow grave rout. There's no way he'll let the soul push Kris to murdering all those people. Anyways, sorry for ranting a bit haha. I'm very happy you see Ralsei as the sweet little guy he is🥺

Toby's writing style typically outright avoids straight up villains. even King chills out a bit after being imprisoned. people may point to Flowey but considering his circumstances he can't really be defined as a straight up villain. people may also point to Chara citing the genocide route as if they themselves did not commit to it and could quit at any point the worst i could see Ralsei doing is having one of his attempts to be kind backfire out of straight up naivety, like it has with King once before he isn't evil, he's just socially awkward and wanting so bad to be liked by the lightners and have a purpose through the prophecy. i saw a lot of traits that i embody through him back when i was young and trying to make friends and it is kind of dumb seeing people say he's evil and only pretending to be nice to fool us for a big reveal where he pulls a gun on us or whatever idk i tend to ignore the Ralsei Villain theories a lot i am so happy to find someone who sees him for who he is and likes him as much as i do

Because flowey thinks exactly how the player react, flowey used his power to make people happy, but started to get boring, like in the game, that is boring make the pacifist route again and again, So flowey killed everyone like The player that maked the genocide route,

This is probably the most “Toby Fox” feeling piece of fan media out there. Everything just feels… real. Like Ralsei is in front of me, speaking to me, and Susie is really here, comforting him. I love this animation beyond all else.
considering ralsei was done dirty for most of chapter 2, it’s really nice seeing people add to his character instead of the obligatory “ralsei is evil” thing that alot of the fandom does, great job on this!

I love that Kris talks by walking. I know that's a super small part of the video, there's just something super endearing about them taking a few steps and people being able to translate that, since they're a silent protagonist but it's still implied that they _do_ speak. Idk, it made me giggle.
It’s sprite animations like these that are beautiful to me, they don’t create new worlds or turn original worlds on their head, but instead build up on them. There’s something nice about seeing how ralsei gets more depth, what they do while kris and Susie aren’t around, their very well fitting backstory before their initial arrival, and the best part is that each character fits perfectly into the world that was already created.
Honestly that just made me realize of bad of a fate that is.. Imagine being trapped in the same empty town for so many days you aventually lose count. That's like solitary confinement but just with a little more room.
I think the worst part is how you know you couldnt even be upset about it. It's Ralsei's purpose as a darkner to fulfill the prophesy and one day meet Kris and Susie, he was doing everything he was supposed to be doing. His purpose was to be alone :(
That is why I try to hug Ralsei at every opportunity and encourage him in every possible way. The fluffy femboy deserves to be loved °^°. (Yep, I’m writing this answer 9 months after your comment)
This was an absolutely phenominal experience to watch. This genuinely honest-to-god feels exactly like Deltarune in all the best ways it could concievably feel, from the humor to the emotion to the characters, just- everything, it feels like it was really made by Toby, and I don't mean that as a joke. It's beautiful, it feels ripped straight out of the game, and- god, that nightmare scene was executed PERFECTLY. Those tally marks made my heart sink. I was NOT ready for that. As a whole, the animation is absolutely masterful and expressive without feeling out of place with the original game's style, all of the characters feel in line with how they actually act, their actions and mannerisms are spot on, the humor feels perfectly accurate and well timed in contrast with the heart and emotion, of which this video is MORE than happy to deliver. The little bits of horror have enough time to shine and don't overstay their welcome by any stretch of the imagination, every second feels like it has something to say, even when no one is speaking, and the character interactions and dynamics feel exact. This video is the goal to achieve, this is the ideal Deltarune animation. This is perfection.

But seriously love how much you dive into who he is as a person and actually help him learn and grow with Susie and the residents of Castle Town, it's adorable! 1:40 Like THIS exploring the trauma Ralsei has from being alone his whole life before this, what that does to a person being in seclusion for so long. 11:04 Oh geez...
This is beautiful! It feels canon, in a wonderful way. I love how Susie is there for Ralsei, staying by them and helping him talk it out, and just simply being a good friend. I love all your Deltarune animations, they’re amazing. Be safe, stay determined ❤️
To be honest, they aren't a complete Yandere, they are just shy about expressing their emotions to Susie, and when Berdly comes into play, Noelle won't hesitate to throw them out the window.
Oh my, this actually makes this Deltarune universe more deeper than we have in-game, I hope all what you create is canon. I don't have a lot of words but I really appreciate your work, keep it up! I wish if you enable subtitles because if you are open for community in making captions, I would translate everything in Spanish for you. So more people would recognize your work.
I just love your writing in every one of your videos!!! It feels so episodic and presented so well it feels like its own series. The dream sequence was unsettling and I loved the way you transitioned after - it feels just like the viewer woke up from a nightmare theirself !! Not to mention how well it blends into canon writing and animation. You captured the writing so well it feels like its part of canon deltarune! I've already watched it multiple times in a row, and I still have an increasingly long list of things I love about it. Amazing job again!!!

You deserve much, much more recognition, that was really, really good, everyone was in character (except mayyyyybe Noelle? Waiting in a locker for 6 hours doesn't seem to fit her, but leaning on the obsessed with Susie part of her was fun), the animations are really really good Also idk if it's intentional or not, but the way you use Kris' animations reflect the fact that they still aren't comfortable with ralsei (like being silent while ralsei is explaining his dream, returning early to the light world, not rly caring about ralsei being sad), that's a part of Kris I feel like everyone just overlooks in favor of ships and stuff like that Hope to see you continuing deltarune animations, you're insane at this
I am so sad Kris is such a mis-understood a character. Heck, lots of people don't even know they *are* a character. We know from the Ralsei tea and other hints that Kris doesn't like Ralsei all that much, I tried leaving Kris's feelings towards our prince as quiet at I could. Us not seeing Kris talk certainly helped haha. I'm so glad someone took notice of Kris. Super happy you enjoyed the video :) ♥
@@Eraser_Tracer True, but consider that ralsei and Noelle pretty much have 0 connections, if 50 HP is the healing for almost strangers, then kris with 60 HP healed isn't very good But yeah hate would be too strong of a word, they've still done a lot together, even if we as players influence Kris a bit in that way
@@gulvhan3420 i think it moreso shows that Kris actually shines through as a person with Susie. Someone that can nurture his prankster and troublemaker side. And Noelle was his childhood friend so of course he'd be closer to her. Ralsei is just a guy he met for two straight days. Compared to Susie who shares his loneliness and brashness. Even if she was his biggest bully for a while, she ended up being a super close friend, maybe even more than Noelle. Ralsei's connection to Kris is moreso his connection to us. If we make Kris a mega pacifist, Kris is annoyed that we're listening to Ralsei, making him feel like he has no free will. If we make Kris attack everyone in the dark world, we make Kris feel like he has no free will, like we're trying to spite Ralsei, something Kris doesn't want either. And with the weird route in chapter 2, we're actively destroying his childhood friend's sanity, forcing Kris to be a manipulative abuser. No matter what we do, Kris is never happy with us. His only happiness seems to be with Susie or Noelle
This looks even more polished and higher-quality than the previous, great job! Can't wait to see more of these, you're really good at making in-character dialogues and interactions :)

This is amazing! I love the themes of the video + how it is Ralsei focus (I am a ralsei connoisseur). The conversations felt very fluid and real, and was funny at times while still pulling on my heart. I love this video and your entire channel! Keep up the fantastic work!
Dude, this is really amazing animation! I never even though about those days when Ralsei was the only one in castle. And you portraited it so good! Swapping between this lively hum castle and lonely hollow one. Also those PTSD flashabacks really made me feel uncomfortable (the ball scene with eyes was scary tho). And the humor in animation is also very very good. You put those tiny little moments, like Rouxle in the final of the dance battle (and how he got here just by standing in one place) or Noelle accidentaly falling on chalk etc. However, the funniest one was the moment with Noelle and Berdly sitting in school closets and waiting for Susie. You're making great stuff and I haven't seen anyone in the Deltarune community who could make content as good as you
I tried really hard not to milk Ralsei's sorrow for any more than it was worth, but still keep it shocking enough for people who hadn't realized it had happened. It was a tough job balancing the fun with the sad, but i think I pulled it off okay. I'm glad you think so too :))

this may seem a little silly to comment, but your deltarune videos are probably one of the biggest parts on why im still in this fandom. the expressions, the bonds, how everyone here knows and is able to care for one another---its genuinely so, so good. you characterize everyone, especially ralsei, better than ive seen any other sorta fan content do it. its kinda astonishing. you deserve a LOT more attention and love, and i cant wait for the next video on these silly little guys
This game is a masterpiece. The audio, the visuals, the gameplay and the characters. The dialog made me cry. I've played this game twice already and both times I had a completely different experience. It's beautiful, and I will continue playing this game until the end of me. I bought a whole new gaming PC, two GTX 1080 TIs, an i9 7900X, 128 gigabytes of RAM, making sure I can play this wonder at 8k 144 FPS. I don't just recommend this game, I'm telling you to play it. If you don't, you are missing out on the reason humans exist. Every single person should play this game. I will fight wars to make sure people can continue playing this game. I have stayed in my room since this came out, which is the day I wrote this, and I haven't talked to anyone except the NPCs in this game. I think this is the next step in human evolution. We will eventually all be plugged into a machine, like in the movie, "The Matrix", where this beautiful masterpiece will be our life. Every day, we will wake up in heaven. Every night, we will go to sleep on the copy-pasted textures on the ground. That soon will be the glorious reality, the reality we are meant to be in. Download this game right now, it should only take you a second, and play it. Enjoy it. Live it.

Your style of storytelling transcends into a rare category where genuine quality and emotion is depicted, while also being completely believable by staying true to Deltarune's style! This was so beautiful ;u; The way the loneliness was so powerful and poignant, vivid. The quiet pervasive and crushing. But at the very end, after that heart-to-heart, it's quiet again, but it's a good quiet. This made me so emotional. (also I am obsessed with that little Ralsei sniffle sound effect)
This is simply amazing... Something that i had to recognize you is the fact that you get the exactly characterization of the characters and all those little effects that's made this feel... real, like a cutscene, when people uses to make emotional things like this is common that they uses a fanon version of the characters and is more common the null use of the subtlety, in other animations Ralsei simply would start crying when Susie and Kris gone or something like that, you know good how represent emotions and make them feel organic and not out of character! Keep going, i love your work.

Aww, the poor boy! Him hugging the mannequin/dummy was just, I can't. :( At least he's much happier now! Though it also makes the prospect of a furthered Weird Route even more sad. I would literally cry if Ralsei has to go back to staring at a wall alone in the Trauma Closet. (or dies obviously) And as for the animation itself it's amazing! The graphics, the writing, even the humor wouldn't feel out of place inside Deltarune itself! And that's extremely high compliments coming from someone who LOVES Deltarune! (okay Noelle was quite OOC but the entire lockers bit wouldn't have worked without her, and I think it's better off for having it, since that part was hilarious!)

You are getting better and better with each video and you're gonna be a [[BIG SHOT]] with that very [[specil]] subscriber count. My favorite visual has to be either the Sweet Cap'n Cakes Judging sprites or the C. Round blinking animation. I can't wait for the next animation already! Amazing video! Really really great! Loved every bit of it! I laughed really hard first parts, thought Ralsei was schizophrenic, felt sad for him, 6:38, thought Ralsei was schizophrenic, felt sad for him and then was heartwarmed when Susie tried to talk to him. You really gave Ralsei the character deepness he deserves! Probably what Toby would make. Also loved the ship parts lmao, loved when Noelle and Berdly showed up with Susie like “wtf” lol. Also loved the moments of the ship that will stay. Well, as I said, amazing animation, underrated and deserves more views lol.
This was really well done, feels true to the characters and tone. Was really heartwarming too how they were there for Ralsei in his time of loneliness.

Every day you expect them in a cold and empty castle. B u t n o b o d y c o m e s. You try to keep track of the days, but soon you lose the very flow of time. You try to entertain yourself, but all this is just a pathetic attempt to cope with acute loneliness. Most of the time you sleep on the floor, trying to find peace, but even there, nightmares from ancient legends come to you. W h i c h a t a n y m o m e n t c a n b e c o m e a r e a l i t y. Hell, if this animation is canon, Ralsei survived one of the most terrific tortures ever. He really is a hero who doesn't deserve to be just a dumb villain. I hope this fluffy boy gets a real happy ending. Sorry for bad English.

I totally loved it, it is very well made, it matches perfectly with the game and its characters. Also... many times I feel just like you described Ralsei's feelings (which fits with him spending a lot of time alone) and made me feel like Susie was talking to me. Great job, keep it up
[11:50] A little thing I noticed was just before the tennis ball touched ralsei and the eyes were opening, you could very faintly see in ralsei's shadow was one of the eyes. [It appears for a few frames so set the video speed to 0.25× to see it better.] perhaps ralsei is a titan that wanted to be friends with lightners instead of shrouding them in darkness? Just a little theory with no real basis.
I'm going to be honest, this animation is one of the few that respects what deltarune is. I'm a Kralsei fan but I still have to admit that the interaction between Susie and Ralsei is close to being canon, plus it shows Ralsei's disdain for time alone (the legend being what gave him a purpose, and that she smiled because of that to avoid the situation she was in), and Susie's evolution as a person (showing that she was good, and that all she was missing were friends to guide her on the right path), in addition to the valance between humor, and seriousness (even touching on terror) in a way that I thought only Toby Fox would know how to do, I hope that for the next chapters of deltarune, we can see more of your animations. I would have liked Kris's interactions to be like the player's options to choose from, as if this were a gameplay of the game (and demonstrating that Kris's free will no longer exists thanks to us XD), but even so it is a work that even True fans of deltarune and undertale will enjoy it, keep it up buddy.

Particularly around Kris, since Ralsei is seemingly one of the only other characters who knows of the soul's existence.
Ralsei, at most, will have a twist of doing something he was told is good, but is actually harmful.
There is a lot of depth to Ralsei's character, saying he will be a twist villain makes me so upset because it means throwing aside all that depth in favour of "what if the kind person was actually evil". It's just so shallow.
I am however, very excited to see Ralsei take on an antagonistic roll in the snow grave rout. There's no way he'll let the soul push Kris to murdering all those people.

Toby's writing style typically outright avoids straight up villains. even King chills out a bit after being imprisoned. people may point to Flowey but considering his circumstances he can't really be defined as a straight up villain. people may also point to Chara citing the genocide route as if they themselves did not commit to it and could quit at any point
the worst i could see Ralsei doing is having one of his attempts to be kind backfire out of straight up naivety, like it has with King once before
he isn't evil, he's just socially awkward and wanting so bad to be liked by the lightners and have a purpose through the prophecy. i saw a lot of traits that i embody through him back when i was young and trying to make friends and it is kind of dumb seeing people say he's evil and only pretending to be nice to fool us for a big reveal where he pulls a gun on us or whatever idk i tend to ignore the Ralsei Villain theories a lot

This is probably the most “Toby Fox” feeling piece of fan media out there. Everything just feels… real. Like Ralsei is in front of me, speaking to me, and Susie is really here, comforting him. I love this animation beyond all else.

I love that Kris talks by walking. I know that's a super small part of the video, there's just something super endearing about them taking a few steps and people being able to translate that, since they're a silent protagonist but it's still implied that they _do_ speak. Idk, it made me giggle.

It’s sprite animations like these that are beautiful to me, they don’t create new worlds or turn original worlds on their head, but instead build up on them. There’s something nice about seeing how ralsei gets more depth, what they do while kris and Susie aren’t around, their very well fitting backstory before their initial arrival, and the best part is that each character fits perfectly into the world that was already created.
Honestly that just made me realize of bad of a fate that is..
Imagine being trapped in the same empty town for so many days you aventually lose count.
That's like solitary confinement but just with a little more room.
I think the worst part is how you know you couldnt even be upset about it.
It's Ralsei's purpose as a darkner to fulfill the prophesy and one day meet Kris and Susie, he was doing everything he was supposed to be doing. His purpose was to be alone :(

This was an absolutely phenominal experience to watch. This genuinely honest-to-god feels exactly like Deltarune in all the best ways it could concievably feel, from the humor to the emotion to the characters, just- everything, it feels like it was really made by Toby, and I don't mean that as a joke. It's beautiful, it feels ripped straight out of the game, and- god, that nightmare scene was executed PERFECTLY. Those tally marks made my heart sink. I was NOT ready for that. As a whole, the animation is absolutely masterful and expressive without feeling out of place with the original game's style, all of the characters feel in line with how they actually act, their actions and mannerisms are spot on, the humor feels perfectly accurate and well timed in contrast with the heart and emotion, of which this video is MORE than happy to deliver. The little bits of horror have enough time to shine and don't overstay their welcome by any stretch of the imagination, every second feels like it has something to say, even when no one is speaking, and the character interactions and dynamics feel exact. This video is the goal to achieve, this is the ideal Deltarune animation. This is perfection.

I am so sad Kris is such a mis-understood a character. Heck, lots of people don't even know they *are* a character. We know from the Ralsei tea and other hints that Kris doesn't like Ralsei all that much, I tried leaving Kris's feelings towards our prince as quiet at I could. Us not seeing Kris talk certainly helped haha.

@@gulvhan3420 i think it moreso shows that Kris actually shines through as a person with Susie. Someone that can nurture his prankster and troublemaker side. And Noelle was his childhood friend so of course he'd be closer to her. Ralsei is just a guy he met for two straight days. Compared to Susie who shares his loneliness and brashness. Even if she was his biggest bully for a while, she ended up being a super close friend, maybe even more than Noelle. Ralsei's connection to Kris is moreso his connection to us. If we make Kris a mega pacifist, Kris is annoyed that we're listening to Ralsei, making him feel like he has no free will. If we make Kris attack everyone in the dark world, we make Kris feel like he has no free will, like we're trying to spite Ralsei, something Kris doesn't want either. And with the weird route in chapter 2, we're actively destroying his childhood friend's sanity, forcing Kris to be a manipulative abuser.
No matter what we do, Kris is never happy with us. His only happiness seems to be with Susie or Noelle
This looks even more polished and higher-quality than the previous, great job! Can't wait to see more of these, you're really good at making in-character dialogues and interactions :)

Dude, this is really amazing animation! I never even though about those days when Ralsei was the only one in castle. And you portraited it so good! Swapping between this lively hum castle and lonely hollow one. Also those PTSD flashabacks really made me feel uncomfortable (the ball scene with eyes was scary tho).
And the humor in animation is also very very good. You put those tiny little moments, like Rouxle in the final of the dance battle (and how he got here just by standing in one place) or Noelle accidentaly falling on chalk etc. However, the funniest one was the moment with Noelle and Berdly sitting in school closets and waiting for Susie.
You're making great stuff and I haven't seen anyone in the Deltarune community who could make content as good as you
I tried really hard not to milk Ralsei's sorrow for any more than it was worth, but still keep it shocking enough for people who hadn't realized it had happened. It was a tough job balancing the fun with the sad, but i think I pulled it off okay. I'm glad you think so too :))

This game is a masterpiece. The audio, the visuals, the gameplay and the characters. The dialog made me cry. I've played this game twice already and both times I had a completely different experience. It's beautiful, and I will continue playing this game until the end of me. I bought a whole new gaming PC, two GTX 1080 TIs, an i9 7900X, 128 gigabytes of RAM, making sure I can play this wonder at 8k 144 FPS. I don't just recommend this game, I'm telling you to play it. If you don't, you are missing out on the reason humans exist. Every single person should play this game. I will fight wars to make sure people can continue playing this game. I have stayed in my room since this came out, which is the day I wrote this, and I haven't talked to anyone except the NPCs in this game. I think this is the next step in human evolution. We will eventually all be plugged into a machine, like in the movie, "The Matrix", where this beautiful masterpiece will be our life. Every day, we will wake up in heaven. Every night, we will go to sleep on the copy-pasted textures on the ground. That soon will be the glorious reality, the reality we are meant to be in. This was so beautiful ;u; The way the loneliness was so powerful and poignant, vivid. The quiet pervasive and crushing. But at the very end, after that heart-to-heart, it's quiet again, but it's a good quiet. This made me so emotional.

Something that i had to recognize you is the fact that you get the exactly characterization of the characters and all those little effects that's made this feel... real, like a cutscene, when people uses to make emotional things like this is common that they uses a fanon version of the characters and is more common the null use of the subtlety, in other animations Ralsei simply would start crying when Susie and Kris gone or something like that, you know good how represent emotions and make them feel organic and not out of character! Keep going, i love your work.

I laughed really hard first parts, thought Ralsei was schizophrenic, felt sad for him, 6:38, thought Ralsei was schizophrenic, felt sad for him and then was heartwarmed when Susie tried to talk to him. You really gave Ralsei the character deepness he deserves! Probably what Toby would make. Also loved the ship parts lmao, loved when Noelle and Berdly showed up with Susie like “wtf” lol. Also loved the moments of the ship that will stay. Well, as I said, amazing animation, underrated and deserves more views lol.

A little thing I noticed was just before the tennis ball touched ralsei and the eyes were opening, you could very faintly see in ralsei's shadow was one of the eyes.

perhaps ralsei is a titan that wanted to be friends with lightners instead of shrouding them in darkness? Just a little theory with no real basis.

I'm going to be honest, this animation is one of the few that respects what deltarune is.
I'm a Kralsei fan but I still have to admit that the interaction between Susie and Ralsei is close to being canon, plus it shows Ralsei's disdain for time alone (the legend being what gave him a purpose, and that she smiled because of that to avoid the situation she was in), and Susie's evolution as a person (showing that she was good, and that all she was missing were friends to guide her on the right path), in addition to the valance between humor, and seriousness (even touching on terror) in a way that I thought only Toby Fox would know how to do, I hope that for the next chapters of deltarune, we can see more of your animations.
I would have liked Kris's interactions to be like the player's options to choose from, as if this were a gameplay of the game (and demonstrating that Kris's free will no longer exists thanks to us XD), but even so it is a work that even True fans of deltarune and undertale will enjoy it, keep it up buddy.
