I’m not from the uk but have been listening to Dave since young and I think ppl love his projects but forget about him bc he doesn’t have much commercial success in between them. Ppl know he’s good but he disappears (at least for mainstream rap fans). Whenever he drops ppl listen and usually love it. However I know ppl who know Dave for his bday tracks or his heavier stuff and like it but don’t always wanna listen to a song like “how I met my ex” when they’re trying to vibe.
As a west african, that line in Black about having 20 cousins living stress free and walking for their water daughters wrapped inside a bed sheet hits so close to home because that's literally how my family there lives. I've got to see them twice and on both occasions I felt so at peace knowing how grateful they are for what they have and the amount of love they have for eachother

After Ed Sheran's 2017 Divide and Drake's 2018 Scorpion. So at 15, this was the 3rd album I ever fell truly fell in love with. I'm so glad you guys have finally got around to listening to it. I loved that even while reacting to such a melodramatic album you found moments to make each other and also me, laugh. You guys are amazing.
