True story. I was living in SLC and Bicycle Thief rolled through circa 1999-2000 to play a show at club DV8. I had heard “cereal song” due to the fact John Frusciante played on it and I liked the song. I went to the show and was a little bummed because of some things I was dealing with at the time. I was at the bar and started talking to this guy. It turned out it was Bob Forrest. I unloaded a bunch of my personal problems on this stranger and he just sat there and listened to me. It was only until I got over myself that he told me who he was. He gave me a CD of “You Come and Go Like a Pop Song “ and Thelonious Monsters “ You’re Bumming Me Out In A Supreme Fashion”. He then introduced me to Josh Klinghoffer. We went down for the show and Josh started playing keyboard parts from Radiohead’s Kid A. I was blown away by both as they killed in front of an audience of 20. Bob and Josh are both such awesome dudes. That was one of the best concerts I have ever seen and I will never forget that Bob just stopped and listened to a messed up little kid like me and hear my trivial problems for a bit. I was an instant fan of both Bob and Josh.
@@kp4588 great story. I was at an REM concert in LA for the Green tour in the late 80s and Bob was wandering around during the show. I yelled, Hey Bob, and he came over. He didn’t know us, but we were big fans. He ended up hanging out with us for a long time. Such a cool guy
