What a legend of a driver olly is 🤣🤣🤣
😂 could have done a video about the Yaris on its own!
@@TomPembertonFarmLife What till you get your ranger Tom then do an off road car link up that would be cool
@@leebarber5528 yes Lee!!
The block of silage should be lower than the frame of grab makes it easier on grab and leaves a clean face
Got to love Olly for driving that car like it stole his lunch, what a Mench
Stand by your beds!!! Tom
We spoke with Penny and Des the day we visited. When the areas were being prepped for the Sand. You were in Ireland. Very polite indeed. 👍👍
Tom, it is June 22nd. Where are you, no video yesterday. I hope all is well with you.
Tom, my Husband died last Saturday and it's so nice to get back to watching you and returning to a little normality. Love watching you 💚
the hardox tines the tips can b sharpened and it does help and aslong as the knife is sharpened with a buffing disc will leave it alot cleaner again
Definitely an improvement and looks robust enough to last - and no leaks!
No leaks!! 😂
And how will it go for the hydraulic oil salesman? out of business 🤣🤣
Tom, keep the boom stationary as you lower the blade on the shear grab, helps to reduce the size of the void you find under the clean cut from the knives👍
Or maybe even put some down pressure on the grab before lowering the blade since the blade is trying to lift the grab when cutting
@@SvenLippens1 that's what I do
I looks like a combination of the downward pressure of the rams and a bit of slap in the pins letting it lift up. Like other people have said, boom down maybe before closing grab
Tom I wouldn't buy a Rangerover in the fitst place.
Have a great weekend be well be you
Tom's singing is the best 😆
Hello Tom on looking closely the tines are not detachable
Sorry for the confusion
Regards john
Try giving the teeth/knife bites a shine up with the ginder sometimes the rusty metal can cause it to not cut as easy
That’s a better job.. at least this time you had a chance to check it over and try it out..and the manitou handles It ok👍
Great to see some family!
Definitely give it good sharpen on front and side will cut much easier
Friends, what would we do without them. Congratulations on your purchase. Hope you get fare value price for the others.
After all the tens of thousands you are getting off U Tube a year you can’t buy a new shear grab?????.makes a bit of content for the channel
@@foodforthought4829 Always a dairy farmer though 😊
Well chuffed for you Tom happy days
Tom, top tip keep the new shear grab edged will work much better...make use of your cordless Milwaukee. Pit looks much better already.
Tom, what you really needed was a rotating roller scraper….which mixes the feed as you go down with it! Also it wouldn’t hurt safety wise if you were to clean all your windows on your tractor's so you can see better!
If olly hasn’t welded it, it’ll be ok! Joking not joking! #seenhiswelding
Cheeky
I’ve got an ordinary Yaris (the new model) and when you press the sport button it’s rapid. So that must be an absolute beast.
You’d make a fun teacher, Tom! You are quick to think of examples to explain complex situations simply, it’s a gift!
@Tom Pemberton get a flap disc in a grinder and polish the blade up, clean all the rust off it will cut a lot cleaner
The Best you can get Albutts are. But I only say that because they are only made a few miles down the road from me in Gloucestershire. There attachments are designed and made by a Farming Family so who best to do farm attachments
Perhaps touch up the cutting edges with a flat file to keep them really nice and sharp, will also require less pressure to cut, but it definatly looks like a good purchase.
just going to look at a jcb and a new trailer 4 ollyblogs
Needs down pressure on the grab before cutting also before lifting out open the grab up a foot then lift out you will get a full cut face rather than it pulling the bottom bit out👍
I often don't recognize the music you play (I'm older and don't listen to current music), BUT today I heard a snippet I recognized!
Well me father often told me when I was just a lad
A sailor's life is very hard, the food is always bad
But now I've joined the navy, I'm aboard a man-o-war
And now I've found a sailor ain't a sailor any more
Don't haul on the rope, don't climb up the mast
If you see a sailing ship it might be your last
Just get your civvies ready for another run-ashore
A sailor ain't a sailor, ain't a sailor anymore
Greetings from Eastern Museum of Motor Racing! Oley made donuts yea! Love to watch Tom have some fun! Museum is located in York Springs Pennsylvania USA
Road trip @tompembertonfarmlife
Great job!
I guess in this case 2nd times the charm. Sure looks solid. 👍👍
Tom, if you need to weld something to stay and you have to do multiple pass welds, most people just lay the first line and then just add the additional lines. What you need to do is after every pass/line, you need to grind off the high spots and if there are any valleys and there usually are for people that are not pro welders), grind down to it so there is a clean wide open surface to add the next line/pass. If not, there will be many voids/gaps in the weld, which leads to cracks and welds failing. I am not a pro welder, but my welds are good enough to be X-Rayed like they would for critical flawless welds for pipelines or other critical needs. Even if it isn't going to be there permanently you will find that it is easier to cut through the welds with a torch. It makes a cleaner cut and this makes it less work to grind the surface smooth again. A few seconds during the welding will save you tens-of-minutes/hours later.
Sharpening
Keep it sharp, Thomas! Not only in the front. Sides and tines too! It makes a big differens. Bolt on stainless acid proof steel on the side edges will hold it sharp as a butchers knife for long time!
If you edge the blade of the sheer grab and the centre blade it will help to have a cleaner cut and don’t move the the boom when taking a bite of silage.
Tom you don’t get it. definitely not an ordinary Yaris. Dream car right there, absolute pocket rocket
Happy Father's day ya'll
That gr yaris looks so much fun! Can see olly getting shares in pirelli lol
It’s on mitchlins
When the first doesn't work bite and bite again. Glad the sheer grab is working Cheers Tom!!
Great video Tom great drone footage the grab looks good Tom 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
As if that sticker is still on the car! Your dad must like it 😂😂😀
😂
Skid steer putting in work.
Since watching your channel I see farming in a totally different way.
So technical in many ways
Great channel
Make your old shear grabs into bale spikes that can pick up 2 rounds or squares. Just cut off the grab part and take some tines out, it’s what we did with our old shear grab
Tom I’m so pleased for you!
Albutt grabs are brilliant!
You have so much power their with the triple ram. You have the best tines on them too.
Keep it greased and keep the side and middle blade sharp and she will work a dream.
That’s some tough dry grass you have there too!
Get a sanding disc for your small grinder to touch up the blades. Once it's shined up with a bit of regular use again it will be easier on the tines.
It’s amazing all the machines needed to farm, can’t imagine that all being done by hand in days of yore. Blessings on you, your family and all the animals 😇💜
You should have pout new nives on your old one, we did that and it worked perfect
a flap disc in your grinder, keep moving don't let it blue with heat, rocking 👍
Big Boys must PLAY 🤩🤩😍😍😍🤩🤩
Nice to see that dead calf laying in the middle of your yard that you tryed to blur out tom
Loving the contrast between UK and USA. They use a machine that shaves the face of the silage leaving it very smooth. The shaved silage is then picked up with a loader. Still love to watch you all!😊
It's the same for a mixingwagon
That seems so much better, because you can take a thin layer off the whole face for each batch, thus helping to keep the silage 'fresh', I'd imagine.
Do bunk shavers work with ryegrass silage tho??
love the Yaris GR , amazing car
hands down I would have the gr Yaris
hope your going to paint the bracket and welding, at least with red oxide
Great video Tom, like the recent Olly content, it's good to see two people come together and help each other out.
I could literally smell that grass silage when you were at the back of the Keenan.
Cheers.
Boys and their toys! 😁👍👍❤️
The Yaris is so cool, fantastic car!
Please stay safe Tom.
Tom did you see a farm as soon as you got in the air in the plane because I live there
Glad you found one that works !
Great video Tom and the grab is not that old plus you know were it came from which makes a big difference it looks like a good one 👏👏👍👍
Great video Tom, you got the right grab in the end. Maybe the cutting edge needs filing/grinding to be more razor sharp too?
Work is so much easier when the kit does a good job.
Good job 👍
We've got the new version of that grass, we use it for maize clamp and you have to keep the loader completly still to get a clean grab, if u role back slightly itll not make a clean face
We've got one of those grabs Ive found that by keeping constant pressure driving into the face while grabbing makes all the difference, also the voids are where your taking to much silage, so the top of the frame on the head stock side line up the top of the block you want to cut then it should meet up
Push boom down as you close shear grab, stops it lifting up👍
Tom you and Olly are like Agri collage students
He did a great job getting rid of that Land Rover, they deprecate the second you buy them. Not to mention the stupid high repair bills on them(and you will be repairing it a LOT.)
Glad your liking it good luck hope it works out for you
that's much better , nice cleaner cut looks tidy , all i would say is keep the blades clean , sharp , it pays off , what a great buy
That’s much better 👍👍
😊
Tom, it is stand by your beds.
Drove in hard stamp on brakes hold brakes put down pressure a bit onto the grab then rev it up and cut through as others have said reduces the void and means u'll get a nice clean cut also look at getting the cutting edges sharpened makes an insane difference
Hi Tom loving the Videos, if you want to keep your pit as tidy as possible when you are using the sheer grab close your grad fully the open it about 5 - 6 inches before pulling out from the pit, it will leave your face cleaner for you.
Looks a good grab👌 if you’ve got a soft disc for the grinder just a quick touch once a week. We’ve a 3 ran with a central blade. 👌 👏🏼👏🏼
You’ll get on just fine with that grab! We have the same one. Had to have one of the rams seals replaced this winter and it carried on doing the feeding with 2 rams on it!
Great video so pleased for you but what did the Ginger guy with the moustache think? Keep the videos coming Good luck and happy Farming
Well ware Tom, best of luck with the "new" grab 💪
Sharpening it will definitely help needs done every month
It would be awesome if you could show about 30 seconds to a minute of some cute cows 🐄 in every video. Like at the very end 😍👍🐄🐄🐄🦦🐄🐄🐄 lol
Looks like a proper grab judging by the wall, fingers crossed the next video is not titled "Sheer grab breakes"
Tom.
Grease cartridges cut the little lug off round the top and it wont get stuck in your gun anymore 😉
Give the grab a good sharpening it makes 1 hell of a difference
Glad to see you finally got your shear grab sorted, reducing that secondary fermentation. Try crowding down a bit while grabing as it should help with a cleaner cut.
Oh and love that sticker on your dad's car it's sick 😉.
Great video. Andy
Toyota yaris GR is phenomenal. More reliable than a range rover too lol
Tom just lightly buff up the blades of the grab with a flap disk, just don't press to hard, keep them sharp. The slightest burr will make a big difference to how clean they cut. Good choice btw.
Delighted for yas, it looks good, well built silage grab
might help if you sharpen the blades on the shear grab 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
Look for a metal worker who sculpts Tom, maybe LOL
We use a shear bucket and have one like you have but with different tines we found to not get the ragged bit you have to take a smaller grab full and let the grab cut in to the clean bit above the ragged bit then it all cuts clean it takes some practice and a polish up of the cutting edge helps when you cut lots. I would send a pic but I can’t seem to comment a picture.
Defo want the gr yaris
keep up the amazing work tom 👍
I really hope you guy’s get more merchandise in soon! Love the hoodies and glass bottles 💞💞💞 Plus I love the channel!!
Hi Tom, two things I have noticed. You need to rust coat your bare metal. Please try to make sure the mast is completely recessed, or you are going to do some expensive damage with the extra weight of your grab
It's little easier to get the tines in with a small angle downwards
14:51 Two nice faces there 😎
