Got here from the Dive talk video! What a crazy story. Any life threatening situation I encounter I want to have the no panic problem solve attitude like you. So glad you survived that like a champ ! Sharks save lives!
Hey, Bud. That podcast you did was lit! If you're remotely interested, the UA-cam algorithm is pushing that video. Do some vlogs and tell us more about yourself, you seem like a good bloke. :)
@@icejakeyjake talk about some of your diving experiences. Favorite/most memorable dives, how you started, maybe mistakes from your earlier diving days, why somebody should try it out and how to go about trying it, what gear a beginner would need, etc. There’s so much potential for content that I’d like to see.
@@icejakeyjake - I agree you should continue. Maybe collab with other divers, vlog dives etc… give safety tips, tell stories. I’m not a diver, have never dived, probably will never do it seriously, and the podcast about your story still came up on my timeline and I clicked. Your story is very interesting. I know a whole lot of people would agree and want to hear and watch more.
Glad to see that wasn't the end for Jakey. I've been separated in cold water setting up some salvage lines on a sunken barge in Alaska. I was found after about an hour and that felt like forever, can't imagine 6-8 hours.
Here from watching your video on the Dive Talk channel. It was so awesome to see that you're ok! Loved Woody's reaction when Gus brought you into the vid chat. Hahaha. WHOLESOME! Subscribed!
Thanks for sharing your story! I almost had a similar situation in Costa Rica (puerto viejo) where several novice divers were drifting several hundred meters away from the dive boat in rough seas. I demanded that the diver operator/captain pick them up and abandon the dive, which he did. This could easily have turned into another incident. Calm cool and collected, you demonstrated all the right survival skills mate. Good on you!
I may come off as strong but man, you felt like an older brother whenever I found out you were alive on Gus and Woody's podcast. I was just so happy, to see you alive and well. Just maintaining a composure, I couldn't help but feel the pain you must have felt in order to maintain strong. I only wanted the best for you even afterwards. Thank you for being strong man, you made me so happy
What a comment, I'm not too sure how to answer it. Thanks, little bro! I think I just don't care about stressing about things that I can't change no matter what I do. Happy to pick someone's mood up.
subscribed....damn ...."Final hours" at first when i came across a video talking about your story ...my first thought was no no no sad ending story i rushed into video ,really really hoping to find out good ending N ufffff a big relief ....there you are :-)) ...cheers ......
Just watched Dive Talk! Would love to see an intro to you and some videos of your diving experience. This is absolutely crazy and you really keep your cool! 👏😎🧘
At least it was a beautiful sunset to watch. So glad you made it through this ordeal and sorry you had to go through it. Do they have a statue of limitations for giving additional details about the incident to the police? Tell them you left out some information althat maybe you should have told thrm about from the get go? Or is that not something you can do?
Same just came aross mine too ! Do reactions to stuff with your thoughts be yourself , and do your videos of the actual dive people like that your first video is cool ! Maybe once you grow you can separate the two and make bank off both ! Good luck I subbed !
Thanks for the sub! The problem with being yourself is it's hard for the personality to come out when you're staring at a lense but I'm I'm trying! I got some stuff coming up, mainly some dive theory but its been a lot harder to organise than I thought.
I'm here after watching the Dive Talk video... Did you ever end up meeting Woody and Gus? I breathed a big sigh of relief when I learnt you got picked up, and didn't have to spend a night out there!
I’m surprised that divers don’t have those high powered lasers, the ones that you can see the beam and could technically shine it into a plane (probably not a good idea). You could just shine it straight up though, it would be like a huge beacon. Great video, glad you survived!!
Dude!! I just came across the podcast you did sharing the story and I have to admit I didn't think it was going to end well with the intro they did showing these clips. Can't believe how well you handled yourself in this situation 👏👏 and so glad to see you survive and pop up on the podcast to tell the story! What a scary experience 🤬 glad you're alive and well man. 🙏✨ How long did it take you to dive again after this?
“Have a fckn geez at this” 😂😂 your commentary cracks me up, I’m Australian and it’s how I talk to myself too and to be honest it’s entertaining and keeps me grounded . I have a question about what you mentioned in the interview: You mentioned you’re in amsterdam and can’t get into Australia due to pandemic border closings? Im asking because I’m stuck in Berlin and it’s so depressingly ironic that you went from being stranded at sea, to being stranded overseas 😭😭 I got mega homesick and took myself to Egypt for a bit of sun and diving which is how I found this video. Thank you so much for sharing it and your experience. It been my biggest nightmare since I was a child. You handled it so perfectly
Thanks! I know the feeling, it's been rough not being able to get home. I also go to Egypt to cheer myself up! I'll let you know next time I'm in Berlin!
Damn Ive watched all the videos and was excited to see the Rescue on here because that was the title......Guess you turned it off before they got to you.
Ah yeah, sorry, perhaps a bit misleading but it's the only bit I have of the rescue, I guess I had other priorities! Nothing too much exciting happened after that, lack luster ending!
@@icejakeyjake Can you proof the accident other than pretending it? Just asking because we have nothing but your words here. What is a bit comcerning, when you talk about 'rescue'. Where is the policeboat here, you were talking about w/ Guy and Woody? And where can I see footage of the diving trip BEFORE your accident happended? Oh, I see, there is none, right?
well the capt of the boat who left him behind had to be in court right? this is mind blowing that a responsible of a boat leave someone behind like this, isnt standard procedure to call everyone before leaving waters? this capt or whatever was responsible should be doing community service for the rest of his or her life, this guy could died just like this, alone in the water without saying goodbye, this is crazy. Surely it is a sea company that do these events, whats the name of this company?
No boat. No lights. No voices. No machine sound. Just a man in water, Rescue, anybody? I mean IS THERE any proof of the incident after all? Why didnt he record the boat, the rescue itself, - he had time and was fine in filming reaal long vids in there, but nothing when he was rescued? Okay ....^^
I just watched you on Dive Talk and throughout the whole thing, I had one burning question. Well, I had loads but most were answered throughout the vid. I set out watching this, completely fascinated, as I am about human behaviour and how these last hours and words would unfold. I thought, am I going to see you give up and drown? Pretty harrowing right? I cried when I saw you alive. Back to my burning question (bearing in mind the podcast was a year ago and you might not even see my question): For all those hours you were in the sea, lost, abandoned repeatedly and basically totally fcuked, did anyone alert your family? You need a book deal. I want to know more about your thought processes and the deep stuff that was in your mind. And all the tiny details that you only ever get from a book. I know you were incredibly calm as is your nature but you must’ve had moments. This is an amazing story on so many levels but it’s also a story of hope. Sending you love from Bonnie Scotland 🏴 Oh, and I love expressive cursey words too. Not so much the C word but I believe it’s a big fave for the Ozzies. You own it, it’s not even like swearing when you guys say it 😅
You should have immediately reported the boat operator and the dive shop to the authorities, the Police and the media. Not to do so, for years, knowing as you admitted you did , that they continued to take unsuspecting people out and put their lives at risk is as irresponsible and cowardly as it gets. I am surprised you expressed no shame about your dishonesty on the Utube with Woody and his colleague.
Absolutely! He acts totally unrespectful and without responsibility for the diving community. The thruth is this guy is happy to be save, that he was rescued, thats all he is interested in. Question: how shall he live on peacefully, if he is hearing one day bout another diving accident ... this time a fatal one .... proceeded by this so called captain? Dude is not thinking, but has a real big ego.
--> in protecting this so called captain you are risking the dead of one or more divers after you, because this guy is still working like so, just as you told Woody. And you know it. What kind of guy are you, dude? You better should not talk about diving safety again since you are proven an unresponsible person. How dare you keeping this secret? Maybe god will remember your decision on another occasion, who knows? Will he then send an angel saving you again ...?
All things aside, the sunset looks beautiful.

Knowing that a bull shark is stalking and sizing him up at this very moment is frightening
There was no jaws music so no sharks were stalking him.
