i'm so happy you are using drag/drop. I use it a lot and took a class from someone that said they didn't like it and never used it. And I don't know how in the world you could quilt without it. Great job you did. Love watching what you are doing.
Thanks for doing theses videos Adam. My husband is hauling me to all the shops on the All Iowa Shop Hop and he saw a Dream Big panel at one of the shops and challenged me to try it. I’m sure I’ll need to watch these several more times before I get the courage to do it. Thank you also for advice on the TOWA gauge, I did purchase one and found I had a pretty loose bobbin which is probably why I felt I had to loosen my top tension too far and had bobbin thread peeking on the top. I’ll rewatch you tension testing video again for sure. I also wondered about the baseline question another viewer mentioned so glad you addressed that also.
Hello Adam. Im excited to do my 1st dream big. 2 questions... this will be a blanket so what batting would you suggest, and 2nd what color was you bobbin thread as you used 4 different top thread colors. Im super excited...did i say that already??😂
When do you baseline? Baseline when the workspace is opened? baseline when a new design is brought in? baseline when you add designs in the row? It's important to know specifically when the baseline function should be used.Please edit to address baselining when using this process.
When I'm doing a design like this, where I am not editing the designs in anyway and just moving them, I find that I don't have a need for baseline. If I selected everything and hit baseline, it would glue them all together and I wouldn't be able to get rid of things when I didn't need them anymore. If I was doing more editing to them, I would definitely baseline them.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do this. You might have to fidget with the design on the second panel to make sure things are lined up but I don't see why it wouldn't be able to be done.
Love your videos, need help on this dream Big. Do you have the gears on when setting up the area? If I turn on the gears after I have set up the area. The machine is no longer aligned with the pattern. Thanks,

I wish you had shown the machine going from one design to another. I don't know if it did that on it's own or if you had to move and set it for each design. I have something I want to try but am not sure if it will work.
I move the machine for each of the jumps. I don't like my machine to auto jump, so I set my jumps to 0 and do tie-offs at each stop. Move the machine to the next start point and resume the stitching.
This was Magnifico thread by Superior Threads. It is a trilobal thread, which is typically used in embroidery. I mostly quit with polyester thread, but of all types. Any threads should run through your machine, you just have to adjust your tension for each.
Adam, I thought you did a fabulous job (with both videos) right up until the end, where you did not touch on what you needed - or didn’t need - to do in the center. Did you have to make any adjustments? If so, did you resize??
I did resize the center down a little bit. I didn't touch on it because it is mentioned in the instructions that are given with the pattern. I probably should have, I will have to make a note on that for the future.

I did the second row, that’s the first row that is stitched in this video. The first row was stitched in Part 1. I stitched the middle last because I was following the directions from the designer and they suggested to stitched in numerical order. When I free motion these, I usually start from the inside and work my way out but since they suggested outside in, I went with what they suggested. It truly was stitch by number.
This looks so good, I would love to see a dream big panel quilted on pro stitcher using pre existing designs that came with pro stitcher
as a newbie to Pro Stitcher (about a month) I have learned a tremendous amount about the purpose of area, drag/drop, etc. love your teaching style

I would use an 80/20 if I were going to use it as a coverup. I used two different greens. One lighter and one darker.

Once the first row is done. can this be saved for the next panel. or must you do from beginning for each panel

Always have to have the gears on when creating areas or doing anything with the prostitcher
