Word of advice: Add an aftermarket transmission cooler. The torqe convertor is a fail point and took out my 96's transmission. Had to pay 2k to get the burnt up convertor replaced and added a cooler. Also, add an oil catch can. Change the oil every 3500 miles, the trans fluid every 35k, and the diff fluid every 45k, and you'll be passing that car down to your kids. I have a 1996, which is arguably the most reliable year you can get. Keep up with the maintenance, and don't cheap out on cheap Chinese parts, and this car will serve you impeccably as you cruise onward to 1,000,000 miles. Welcome to the LS 400 club 😂
Nice too see an 18 year old appreciate a big luxury boat, those old Lexus are extremely reliable and yes some things age with simply time not mileage, most young people want something sporty but there are a handful of young people that appreciate non sporty luxury/comfortable cars, I’m 24 years old about to be 25 years old next month, in October, 2021 I bought a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 and I was 23 1/2 at that time, prior I had an 08 Acura TSX and an 06 Toyota Corolla 5-speed manual, I loved the corolla cause it was my 1st car which my parents bought new and handed down the car to me in 2016 cause I was going to college, 203k miles on the odometer when they handed it down to me and I drove it EVERYWHERE until I was 22 and crashed it after I fell asleep behind the wheel 4 months after I graduated university…..had 319k miles and needed very little maintenance, then I got an 08 Acura TSX I got a few weeks after my accident and LOVED IT, I wanted a sporty compact luxury sedan that was reliable and yup the 08 Acura TSX fit the bill and was unique since not too many where sold but used common Honda parts, I miss the VTEC crossover on the K24A2 engine that made 205hp stock but after almost a year owning the Acura a lady rear ended me and insurance totaled the car, trying to find an Acura TSX 1st gen with decent mileage or not modified is very hard even in SoCal where I live, my friends made fun of me kinda for wanting to get a Fully loaded Toyota Camry but in San Diego (i live in LA suburbia) I found an 07 Toyota Camry XLE V6 fully fully loaded for 07 and only had 38k miles……I bought it and I don’t care that it handles like a boat but it’s soooo comfy and I don’t even know how shitty the roads are sometimes cause the suspension makes the bumps feel like nothing lol….. And the V6 is POWERFUL making 268hp which is very healthy for a late 2000’s V6 before everything became a damn turbo 4-cylinder…….0-60 is 6.2 seconds which I timed on a straight street but don’t make the car turn or you’ll tip over the boat lmao
Yeah.. it was just put on coil overs last week... so it's dropped nice and low. Going to replace the front seat and center council. Not sure on the paint yet... may just get it wrapped. Going to replace the radio too. It's my boys car... he just bought a rc350 fsport... dropped that too. We have a video on that car too. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Nice car Allen! I had a 96 LX450 and the seats looked worse than yours. It’s a Lexus thing. Was going to reupholster in cloth since it’s more comfortable and breathable but never got that far.
