    I don't compete... But my stoic really help with my bad knees keeping the thing warm and help with the movement. It also helped a lot building back the strength there after I got hurt. For now, I don't think I need to go in the stiffer range, but if I compete one day, it might change...!

    Solid info! My next vid is on my new SBD sleeves and I’ve learned the importance of getting the size right, when choosing sleeves. It can be quite difficult however, when you’re on the border between sizes, like I often am. Add to that, the confusing info from MFRs sites, and it can be hit or miss. Glad you found some that provide proper support while being more comfortable (expecting some break in to help with circulation 😂).

    I am a bit confused. In your description you have Iron Rebel Performance knee sleeves (which are like 70 USD), but in the video you are actually using Iron Rebel PR ones. How much of a difference is there between the actual Performance and PR ones? I am guessing the PR ones are much more supportive and stiffer?

    Looking to get a pair of the Iron Rebel sleeves. I see in the video you're measuring around your knee. On their website it suggests you measure around the calf. Did you also take that into consideration? I just want to make sure I get the right size the first go around.

  • @OMyGlock
    @OMyGlock Рік тому

    Just got the Iron Rebel sleeves in a L. My calves measure just a tad under 15", my knee is 14-14.5", and my lower quad is about 18". According to the size chart I should be a large, but when I went to put one on, it wouldn't get over my quad at all. Tried to take it off and it got stuck on my calf. Within 2 minutes my foot started to go numb, 10 minutes later I had to cut it. DO NOT GO TRUE TO SIZE, I will probably reorder a 2xl.

    • @BasementBrandon

    Raw is on the half natty path to geared lifting. Singlet wars are the next logical progression from the knee sleeve arms race. I predict within the next 5 years you'll see raw singlets with close to the same carry over as the old school Inzer Champion suit. I also wouldn't be surprised to see someone find a way to make a t-shirt that falls within specs that is made out of dense enough material to start getting some carryover on.
    All the "raw is real strength" evangelists are floating down the river of denial towards the sea of equipped lite & I'm here for it.

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  Рік тому +3

      It def is a funny thing to see. Most times I recommend the Titan singlet as that seems to offer the most support 🤪

    • @twr74
      @twr74 Рік тому

      I did my 1st meet in ‘92 & powerlifting was just equipped. Took almost 3 decades off, came back raw because it was just easier. I use weak knee wraps because they’re easier to put on & off than sleeves that give any carryover & strong wraps just hurt to much for recreational lifting.
      As an almost 50yr old I hope they continue this trend. There’s multiple reasons geared lifters seem to have longer careers & having support in the most compromised part of the lifts is probably a factor.
      I truly wonder if there’s as much animosity between something like NASCAR & NHRA as there is between raw & equipped lifting.
