  • On The Nightly Melody show 166, I arranged and performed the famous melody Can't Help Falling In Love, I used a capo on 2nd fret, in D major. I also review the Boss OC-5 Octave pedal and share my experience for creating new guitar tones with the Boss OC-5 pedal.

Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for doing it. Enjoyed the playing and your down to earth conversation about your interaction with this pedal. Cool

Very nice demo of the new Boss Octave efx pedal! Much better harmony than the old Octaves with just plain unison bass - this OC-5 definitely sounds more "live", especially with the bass cut-off frequency selector... great recording tip too!

    Excellent playing!!

  • @gss.L-05

I bought the pedal after watching your videos because you demonstrate with nylon string guitar which sounds very very nice with the oc-5. Great guitar playing!

Thank you for showing your Octave OC-5 settings on screen. I hope you will do a video talking about your equipment, and recording equipment, and software.

G'day Peng, I like it as an embellishment, maybe not on all the time. I'm guessing you could also use it to fatten up single treble note solos too.🐨

  • @devrimyoldas

Hi Peng, thanks for the video. A little suggestion: You can use DPA 4099 or Neumann 414 through Eventide Mixing link preamp and then pass the signal through C5, what do you think?

  • @koroespinacas

Hi Peng Chen, great video. I have a question - I just purchased the OC5 and using it in a very similar way to yourself (with a nylon string guitar with a pickup/condenser microphone system in it) but am having some serious tracking issues with it For instance when I play any kind of chord constructed as root, fifth, octave, third (such as the basic E chord we all learn as beginners) the pedal picks out the fifth (B) rather than the root (E). I was thinking maybe the pedal is faulty, but when I try it with electric guitar it works fine! I even tried using a compressor before the OC-5 and it helped a little but not much. Are you using any kind of pedal before the OC-5 to get the signal to work well with it?

  • @byroncrump4390

Much better with oc5 Especially through the tiny iphone speakers

  • @JohnKenneymusic

Boss OC 5 really fills out the sound plus your playing is great!
