Be here in 2 weeks, we cant wait to get away! Prices are high but it doesnt mean you have to do any of those things. We will just enjoy the beach and our alcohol package while here!
Debbie O. Right I agree 💯👌🏾
EXACTLY! People complaining about the prices but he listed a host of thing that were free/included. I bought my drink package on the ship as well and I'm gonna enjoy the beautiful FREE beach! LOL
That is unbelievable. I can’t believe those waterpark prices. I am having second thoughts on planning a trip there.
Wouldn't it be interesting if the RC community turns their nose up to the prices and stays on the ship ? The crew love it when we hit a port because we get off and the ship is quiet. What if over half stay on the ship and keep our money in our wallets ?
Notice most 7 and 10 day trips now include this crap. Well maybe time to try Norwegian
For me this is common pricing asi live in Florida volcano bay in Orlando is $100 off season
Nikki Foster Volcano Bay STINKS! The Disney water parks are around $65/day and Aquatica can be as low as $20.
What’s wrong with 100$ price for a full day on a nice water park? People pay without blinking 200$ to go on Atlantis! If you can’t afford or don’t want to pay, just stay on the beach or even Blue Lagoon pool! I was on coco Cay on the beach and had an amazing day!
Like the concept but come on with those prices.
popatop912 worth the price.
Looks like fun but not feeling all of those charges.
Squeezing every last dime out of their passengers. Unbelievable prices, was onboard last month and noticed everything is going up in cost at an alarming rate.
This will be me and my kids first cruise vacation omg we are too excited. These videos will help sooo much and yes we will be vlogging. 🥰
Have a great time!
Wow....$1500 for a cabana? For a day? Better come with a butler, dancing girls and a Gucci gift bag.
It comes with perks, either admission to the water park or Coco Club depending on the cabana you choose.
hahhaa! you got that right!
Miami view by drone
@@williamlayton1827 private access to a presidential suite and a private strip club
Chinise lady gift me massage whit the foot hahah
Perfect day for rich folks....
I was surprised that they are charging for the waterpark however the cost is really good in comparison to other attractions in Florida or here in Newfoundland Canada where we live. We got a great deal on our Sept 2019 cruise on the Mariner so this extra cost is no big deal for us. Can't wait to get there!
Just got off a cruise that stopped at CocoCay and that timeline for the construction is so off /: The dock is nowhere near being finished and we were still using tenders to get to the island. basically the only thing that’s open is the beach and parasailing and snorkeling. Island looked super disappointing
I’m so excited we are going March 2020 it’s overwhelming already but we have plenty of time to prepare and plan it out just right! Thanks for this vid can’t wait to share it with our party of 19
Too expensive
No way I'm paying those prices for just a few hours.
You don't have to purchase a thing. You can go and enjoy the beach, pool, and eat for free.
Well we'll be doing all the free stuff next year
Omg will be there may 2019!!! U just made my day!!!😁😁🤗🤗
Me too I’m soo happy 😆 I go may 31st
You mentioned in the beginning some areas that are complimentary, but flash through he pictures so fast! We booked Harmony in July, and was very disappointed once we looked at the cruise planner to see that there was an excursion fee to enjoy the slides. We would have booked a different itinerary if we knew there would be more of the nickel and dime charging.
Dang, I've only done Disney cruises (which are véry all inclusive) and decided to look into cheaper options, but they turn out even more expensive with all those added expenses....
I would very much love to go on a Disney cruise with my little family but I heard it's far more expensive than the other Cruise lines and you're not getting that much more for your buck
@@marykay8587 I just booked our 4 night Disney cruise yesterday, which has 1 day Nassau, 1 day Disney's private island and 1 day at sea. It was about 30% more than the same itinerary with Royal Caribbean. I'm a huge Disney fan and I love the service you get from their, all of their staff is super highly trained and very involved with you. So for me, it's worth the extra bit sometimes, but I can totally understand that for families, it's often too expensive. I always go with friends or older family members and we each pay our own trip. There are some extra perks to the Disney cruises, like family rooms which fit 5 people, and their rooms are about 25% larger than other cruise lines' rooms. And of course the Disney entertainment you can't find anywhere else, but if you're not a big Disney fan, I understand that's not something you'd want to pay extra for.
@@marykay8587 Disney is exponentially better than the supposed value lines. They don't nickel and dime you to death and even give you a free umbrella to use on their island.
@@jaredbarousse8855 haha free umbrella hey? Nice 😀
Massive thumbs up for ya!! And I hit the subscribe button so I can find your video blogs easier as it gets closer to my next cruise for planning purposes! Thanks for the great video about CocoCay!! All my questions were answered in ONE spot, and it was soooo fun to see what the island will look like when it's done. Thanks for the super video! :)
Glad you found this all helpful!
I’ve never sailed with RC but damn, do they really try to nickel and dime you for everything ..?
they all do
Not really any more than any other cruise line, I think it's just more prevalent on this island.
It’s won best cruise line 16 years in a row... like anything you get what you pay for.
@@paulwilliams8548 Think you might like to do a little more research into this statement as the overall "Best Cruise Line" award for at least the last 4 YEARS has been Princess Cruises with RCL picking up awards for mainly "Best Family Ship", "Best New Ship" and "Best Entertainment Onboard" but there is a lot more to consider when booking cruises, i.e. value for money, service, food quality and choice etc etc.....
Donna Farias sane as any other cruise line
okay, wow! sounds like a travel agents nightmare. You better Werk!
Thanks Matt you cleared up alot of questions I had. I'm not tripping about the prices b/c it is all OPTIONAL. I will be enjoying all the free/inclusive attractions.
Great!
That looks really cool
That island is like a black hole, but instead of light been unable to escape your money will be unable to escape.
Best statement of all!!! And I couldn't agree more!!
I ALREADY WENT! IT WAS AWSOME!! Best daayy
I’ve already ordered tickets for it
Thereal_ Gage
Me too, can’t wait!
Thank you for the information. It will make it easier for us to plan our future cruise.
This blog is great. I just booked my coco Cay yesterday on Navigator for Sail in Jan 2020. The prices are crazy. The half of day at the water park is $44.00 a person I believe and that is all we would do lol. The cabana and all that other jazz is just way too much. In all honesty, people who can actually afford an over the water cabana for $1500 for 8 hours, would probably not be on Royal Caribbean.
yes we are
@@pjm3290 not me. We spent that type of money on our Mediterranean cruise in 2017 and it wasnt with royal Caribbean, but to each his or her own.
dude, can you please stop like randomly screaming into the mic. It is a great video but you need to keep your volume at roughly the same level.
Sounds like you would like a robot instead
He's talking about the actual volume level; it does fluctuate quite a bit with Matt's enthusiasm.
A good compressor in the video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, would fix this.
narrator, slow down !!!!!!!
@@joeyg9334 He's like that in all of his videos. Just his style I guess..
Magnifurcent person
Totally agree...he is merging words and not pronouncing fully as he is going too fast
We might go there in April looks great
Matt! I enjoy your Podcast and Post! yay! I DO have a question, I was looking at a ship for 2019(I think it was Anthem) It list the stops as Port Canaveral then CoCo Cay then CoCoCay Perfect day. Is there a difference between CoCoCay and CoCoCay Perfect day or is that a mistake?
Not entirely certain at this time. We were discussing that very topic here: www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/6498-multiple-stops-at-cococay/
Oh. My. Gosh.
IS THIS SERIOUSLY WHERE IM GOING TO IN DECEMBER?!?! EEEEK!!!
I love water slides, couldn’t live without my water slides and roller coasters! Can’t wait
LpsAliTv depends. Are you going in December of next year? It won’t be ready till fall 2019.
Autumn Tolbird No. I meant to edit this comment, cause I realized most of it won’t be finished til next year. I’m going December 2018. Ik in this comment I was excited, but now ik it’s til next year.
LpsAliTv I’m going on November 2019 love all that too but I’m hoping all the construction will be done by than
If you pay for the RC drink package. Do you pay for drinks
If you have the drink package, drinks are included on CocoCay too
I just told my mother about this and I can't wait to go there i'm so excited! :D
The price to Cruse is staying low , the price of doing stuff is going up up up
This island is cool but it's just waiting to be slammed by a hurricane
That's literally the same thing I'm thinking. I think all it would take is for a category 3
It's all good. Disney has a private island that seems to do fine
most cruise lines have their own private island - most are pretty cool -
I would like to know what will happen to those expensive cabanas after the first hurricane passes through the area, the hurricanes will be the only ones that will give a use to those cabanas.
May someone please explain what does half day and full day mean?
It's pronounced "CoCo Key"
Not "CoCo Kay"
That it is included on cruise price??
I loved the Spanish part "No Dinero". I have always said that if something is so expensive it is because there is someone with enough money to pay for them, but this is ridiculous. On the other hand I would like to know what will happen to those expensive cabanas after the first hurricane passes through the area.
Holy crap those cabanas can get $$$$$$!
I am going here in the summer
We going there for spring break
Do you think there will be anything in this video there right now? I’m going this week
"Don't forget to invite your favorite youtuber." Lol
Can we stay in the ship on that day instead? Pool in the ship will be mostly empty and better to enjoy, and it’s free!
Yes you can
So the slides that are complimentary look way cooler than what you would have to pay for.
My best friend is having her vow renewal ceremony there next year? Does anyone have photos of possible ceremony spots?
January 2019 and RC still can't stop at this destination because of rough seas.
What about the drink packages. Do those apply on the island?
Yes, drink packages work on the island.
Pero, DCL ya incluye en el precio las atracciones de su isla privada, so, RC, baja los precios si quieres competir!!!
I thought in the beginning he said a lot of these things were "complimentary." ?? Whatever with the entire cruise industry. It's all become nickel and dining. I'm off on my first AI land vaca in 2019 because the price is now less, at a 4-5 star resort than a basic balcony cruise.
My dads pretty crazy when it comes to fun so I can expect go on crazy water slides and a zipline😁
Thanks
Im going
Matt we just visited CocoCay in Oct of 2018 and we loved it. Did you say the Island will no longer have any free beach chairs any more??? Are the current awesome food venues all going to be gone also??? Is the snorkel beach area still going to be open??? Loved the free snorkel vest they handed out to anyone who wanted to snorkel off the beach. Do you think the ships will overnight on the Island??? You made another great video Matt thank you.
OK I just watched the video again and it does look like most of the basic nice things on the island will still be free mostly.....
Definitely will be free beach and chairs available
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog We have decided to sail on Royal Caribbean at least once a year.......we are also trying to sell on friends on that also.
I am about to be 10 so going to there for my birthday in August 17, that's
cool!
WHAT? No special area for suite guests? Still? I hope there are at least...AT LEAST some discounts or fast passes for the attractions then..
I get, I guess, that the actual land mass of Coco Cay is much smaller than Labadee but still....paying so much already...
Damm I will be thete March 2019
In which country is this...plzzzz answer me...any body
Bahamas
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog ....can I come from Pakistan...how to booking
this is for rich families. and also imagine even going there with boat.. that's also money. rip wallet
Sooo i can go here and wait in hour long lines with 1000s of passengers. Or pay the same price and go to Atlantis water park in Nassau. Yeah ill take atlantis.
I don't suppose (or see) that this place has a lazy river, do they? I love those things and would travel just based on a good one, lol.
No, there is no lazy river.
Thanks! I might just stay on the ship that day :)
Slow down Matt, you go way too fast, and your words get jumbled too much. Also, watch your levels when you get excited. It gets too loud, and then what you say after gets lost. For example the NO DINERO was way too loud.
Not cool. You've already paid THOUSANDS to be on the dang ship! This is a private RC island only accessible by their cruise in the first place then they nickel and dime you for the activities once you get there? Cabanas are 1 thing, fine, charge the people who want to pay for them. But slides and water play are another. Cruises with this as a port are already 50%-100% more expensive now than they were before the upgrade so you're already paying a premium just to be there, even if you don't get off the ship! $1500 and up in the summer for a 3 DAY cruise in a basic ass room, not cool.
Hope I win some money in the casino and then I will try these:))
Ridiculously expensive. Its more than the damn weekend Cruise. Ridiculous.!!! You not even there for 9-10 hrs for those prices.!!!
I’ll take my chances on land with them prices they trying to charge. And at least on land I’ll get my moneys worth and won’t pay that much for the water parks
Love it! #CaribbeanCruising
I cant even ride the rides on this or the ship rides not wheelchair accessible
Get someone to carry you. Like the one a Throne..... I'll leave now
mo money, mo money, mo money!!!
The construction on the island will not be completed until late 2019, then it will use it's reimagined name Perfect Day
jjl2290 it's about 50% done now......
They lied!!! A perfect day would be 100% complimentary!
Coool
2 MILONLL
Pronounced "Key"..
Well they need to change the spelling HAHAHA
But that's like someone pronouncing your name wrong and telling you that u need to change the spelling when u correct them.
Is it actually pronounced “Cay” and not “Key”?
Mmmmm cay
"Key". I actually worked in a cay in the Bahamas for a year 😇
Oh hell no

This does not appeal to me at all I much prefer Labadee. This looks like a giant over priced kiddie amusement park.... Very glad we're one of the last cruises on the Allure that goes to Labadee instead of this monstrosity.
Not spending that much for 6 hrs. Don't have enough time to enjoy all of that stuff
Wait.. there is a fee for a beach umbrella? LMAO hard pass. More like Perfect Pay Island
Most of the seats with umbrellas are included.
once again they left out the 55+ age group. dont hear anything for them to do
55+ folks don't like the beach or pool?
that seems to be about it. thats my moms complaint. if she didnt get in the water, nothing else for her to do and no she didnt want another nassau bahamas t-shirt. no ride/walking tours, cooking sessions, dancing/classes, games, bingo, scavenger hunt, group activites for 55+. i can go on and on.
Autobot Diva a lot of the stuff you mentioned can be done on the ship. This island is going to be amazing, but you know the saying you can't please everyone...
Nom Nom
True & evidently age 55+. Hopefully RCCL will listen as NCL has plenty on their smaller private islands.
Another nice little island destroyed by a cruisel line. Guess I won't be getting off the boat here either,
Your loss.........
@@commonsense246 our gain!
Perfect Day is Bitter-Sweet....looks like a "sweet" day of fun for the entire family, yet the extra expenses are rather "bitter." I'm a Loyal, Royal Caribbean cruiser of 25 years, but all the extra expenses over the years are becoming discouraging$$$
We might go there in April looks great
How can they not have special options and areas for suite guests? I mean if you're already dropping $10K on the cruise throw me a bone. LOL.
One of the reasons I love all inclusive resorts over cruising is there are no hidden fees. Cruises nickel and dime you to death and at the end when you go to settle up your bill it can be sticker shock if you didn't keep track of spending.
Yeap, my sons found that out when they left the ship on our first cruise. The wife and I have been on others since then, but they have not. They WERE warned, but did not heed... :)
Love Love Love your blog...and Royal Caribbean :)
I've been on several Royal Caribbean ships! I think it's so sad they're charging these outrageous prices just to make the shareholders happy!👎👎
George Castro they spent 200 million on the upgrades... they have to make it back somehow, guy
I grew up (sorta)on this island and I can't believe how it transformed. I spent all my summer and winter breaks on this island because my dad worked there as a tender captain. I wish this was around during my time. I will be taking a trip when this project is complete. SO EXCITED!!
Tamra Rigby wow I remember going to this island two and three days out of the week for a few years when I performed and saying on the softener of the seas remember that ship LOL I always love the island it was peaceful can’t wait to see what the end it’s gonna turn out to be
Jahzeel Mumford Yes, I remeber that ship. I thought it was the most beautiful ship, until the Oasis of the Seas. RCCL really put alot of thought into the things they do. Forever loyal to them.
To me, a "perfect day" would be seeing real nature... not a cheesed up theme park... with local people working and benefiting. This is crap
I agree 100%!
Bobbi Cavin unlike you, some of us will enjoy a “cheesed up” waterpark. You don’t sound like the target market for a cruise - recommend you stick to the yoga meditation retreats and drum circles
its pronounce (key) Cay
RC pronounces it Kay (like okay), which is why the rhyme.
Maybe they should change it....Perfect sea, Coco Key? lol
Thanks Matt! You cleared up a lot of questions.
Some of mine were answered as well. Now the only real question is when the heck can I get down there to try all those slides!
Too confusing and too much. Rethinking my plans.
They want a thousand for a Cabana? They must be hallucinating.
Roger didit I said the same thing and only for eight hours I’ll take sunburn for 200 alex
@@charoletteduffy6797 exactly! I can use $5.99 sunscreen and stay on the beach for a few hours before going back to the ship. Hmmm. Maybe a pedicure.. A massage...... Hmmm. That thousand is gonna spend BIG!
Btw, i just checked how much they will charge for this excursion ..109 for adult and child For 1/2 day (4hrs) For both ziplining and water park.
Senai Acosta cool
I was just there 2 weeks ago, the island is a wreck. I realize they are supposed to be under construction to renovate into this, but it's still no excuse. They should shut down to do this instead of having customers inconvenienced, and money wasted. I doubt all this will open on time with the streets of things we saw.
We love royal carribean, enjoyed the other ports, but they should just go to Labadee until this is finished.
Michelle L Young Would you recommend just staying on the ship instead of going to the Island? We leave on this Cruise tomorrow (7/2/18)
Leslie M Im so sorry I didn't get back to you before your trip. I hope you had a good time. Don't get me wrong we had a good time on our cruise, and I would have said, yes get off the ship and make the best of the day. I just wish they had told us the island was under renovation, I wouldn't have spent the money on the bed. I really don't have any desire to go back once this is complete. Does it look cool, sure but I didn't spend the money to go to the Bahamas to swim in a damn pool. I want to spend the day on the beach, under a palm tree, swimming in those gorgeous blue water...... not on a water slide..... I can do that at six flags here. Plus as much as we pay for these trips, the shit should be included..... especially since this is royal Caribbeans resort. Labadee was nicer, I could spend the entire 7 to 10 days there. Please let me know how your trip was..... we are looking forward to another cruise in 2 years.
M MLY do you think it will be finished in May? I will be there then I really hope so 😩
Support some of the comments. Like standing in front of a machine gun firing words. How about doing some quick summaries of costs of various days out for say a couple or a family of four.
Is access to the snorkel beach still free? We've always brought our own snorkel gear and hit the water as soon as we got there. The free food used to be awful. Has it improved any?
Nice royal Caribbean. Nickel and dime your customers. Let them pay for the cruise and then charge them for the water park. You guys should rethink that, people will avoid your cruise ships that has that port in their itinerary. Water park should be FREE!
Absolutely it should be FREE! it's like having a monopoly..they own the ship and they own the island..no port fees...charge for the waterpark and other attractions..there should be laws preventing this! It only benefits the cruiseline. I'd rather go to another port where my funds will benefit the locals and not the cruise line SMH...just greed! They're figured why pay them, we'll just purchase our own island and cut out the middleman 👺
