I love the independence. The climbing structure for children was so great for kids to burn off some energy. You can lounge while they climb around safely. The food was good, we truly enjoyed Indy
Bro didn’t tell us what would happen to us if we hit the golf balls off the cruise ship lmao. Charge us for them and probably ban is for life from their cruise if we hit the balls off the ship on purpose.
Brilliant Matt, thank you! I have a transatlantic and fjord cruise on Indy in 2025. So glad I could send this to my mum, as she'll be joining me on the transatlantic. Cheers!
Wonderful and helpful video, thanks Matt. Many years ago, my wife made a cartoon for an English sports instructor, with the title "Fish and Ships" Maybe the name stuck! Can't wait to try that delicious fish!
We’re taking our kids this November and we can’t wait!! It looks like there’s so much fun stuff for them to do. My son was super bummed that the Skypad shut down cuz he LOVES VR but that’s ok. I liked this style of a ship tour- just showing the highlights instead of just walking through the whole ship - that can get kind of tedious to watch.
Going on Independance next week, I haven't been on it since all the way back in July😋, I just got off Explorer on Saturday, it feels like the little (but somehow much older) brother of Independence.
@nellymccrory2649 Yes, you are right about that! Royal Caribbean has the world-records for biggest ever cruiseships . . . and has set new records each decade for the past 30 years. Hard to believe that Independence of the Seas and that class of ship is so huge but was launched so long ago . . . and now there are Icon-class ships that can hold over 7,000 passengers plus employees = over 10,000 people per cruise!
Saw this ship returning to Miami after a 3 day Carnival Conquest and wondered what it was like. This will be our next cruise. Hopefully a 4 or 5 day cruise
Just got off last week! It was my first repeat ship, i do like the freedom more ( ik they are sisters) i like the pool deck colors and el loco fresh more than fish and ships
Can I offer a suggestion to improve your video? Add time stamps for each section you go over. As a single adult with no kids I don’t really care about the kids areas and would like to skip this part of the video. A time stamp where I could click on to move to next area would be really nice! Other than that your ship tour videos are the best on UA-cam
Not sure if this is something you could do easily, but can you make a video on the explorer of the seas? I have a cruise booked on it, and was curious what it's like before I go.
Do you know why in 2025 they are not doing any longer western med cruises now this vessel is sailing from Southampton? They use to be regular 14 night cruises, from what I can see they are only doing 1 12 night canary cruise and the rest are only 9 nights.
On Oasis, the ice skating show had a sand painter, the most enchanting and beautiful segment of the show. Is there a sand painter on Indy? (Going on Indy for Xmas)
matt, the B&J Cows are gone? i just booked that "B&J sweet", please tell me that you can still enjoy the old amenities that were being offered when they were partnered with B&J.
I was on Indy last week for 5 nights. We've also ruised on Vision, Liberty, Mariner, Symphony, and Serenade and MSc and celebrity.. This was our least favorite Royal cruise, but it didn't help that it rained a LOT (September being the rainy season). Lots of rowdy passengers, LOTS of school age children. Audience members talked and got up all through Grease. Just in my row, I had people get up and pass me 8 times during the show. That was a new low in my experience. It just feels like the passengers are getting increasingly obnoxious and over-served. I heard a lot of yelling and profanity on this cruise and I just didn't find that relaxing. I'm not sure when this footage was taken but it I feel the ship looks a bit more worn than this. There's much more visible wear and tear in public areas (worn out furniture, drapes, etc) and cabins and many, many more passengers. Look at this footage and quadruple the people on the pool deck, in the spas and in the pools, bars and Windjammer and Promenade and you'll get a more realistic idea of what the actual cruise experience is like. That shaded section on the Fish and Ships side of the pool deck shown in the video? All smoking area. The kids were having a great time in the splash area. However, they were all over the main pools and spas, too -- including babies in diapers, so on the last day one of the main pools was closed due to a poop incident and the day before, the largest spa was closed for the same reason. We did not have a good experience at our 3 main dining room meals (chewy fish?!?) and were sad not to hear oldies playing at Johnny Rockets (not the best JR food either, compared to other ships). However, Fish & Ships was great and convenient and the service at Playmakers was terrific. We enjoyed the ice skating. YMMV, but I wouldn't repeat a cruise on this particular ship.
My daughter and friends just were on Indipendence. Very disappointing. Poor service, unresponsive maintenance, bad food, hairs in drinks. As an RCC lifer, very disappointing.
I'm sorry but those fish and chips look like a poor interpretation of the British classic. Do they do mushy peas, gravy and curry sauce with them? Guess I'll find out next May.
Bro didn’t tell us what would happen to us if we hit the golf balls off the cruise ship lmao. Charge us for them and probably ban is for life from their cruise if we hit the balls off the ship on purpose.
Going in 6 Days for Independence of the Seas for my first cruise!
Did independence of the Sea last year for my very first cruise. Loved the “Grease” show and the ice-skating show.
Awesome! But watch out, cruising is so amazing that it becomes addicting! 😂 Have fun!
@@brianh6499 82 days and counting until adventures of the sea will be our second cruise
Must try..Johnny Rockets double burger 🍔
I think we on the same cruise haha
Going on this ship next month for my birthday! So excited
I was on the Independence in September. Had a great time! I also had fun watching dolphins and flying fish from my balcony one day while cruising.
Perfect timing. Going on my first RC cruise on Indy next month.
Amazing ship tour as always!
Indie was our first RCL cruise ship and we absolutely loved it!
I love the independence. The climbing structure for children was so great for kids to burn off some energy. You can lounge while they climb around safely. The food was good, we truly enjoyed Indy
We loved the Independence of the Seas

Perfect timing, thanks Matt!
Just went on independence of the seas. It was amazing. Hope you guys enjoy.
Whoooaaaa. Easy with the hockey smack talk😉
😆
I second that @royalcaribbeanblog . We got canadiens on the ship
Was on this ship this past May for my anniversary, it was a blast!
Congratulations! How many years/decades are you celebrating?
I was just looking at cruises on this ship after watching another vlogger speaking about Fish & Ships, one of my favorite dishes is fish & chips.
Love the Freedom Class ships, sailing Indy to Norway next summer can't wait. Thanks for this great video Matt!
Just booked my first cruise with my man for the Indy In January 2025. So excited!

Finally getting to see this boat in 7 days !! Whoohoo !
Brilliant Matt, thank you! I have a transatlantic and fjord cruise on Indy in 2025. So glad I could send this to my mum, as she'll be joining me on the transatlantic. Cheers!
Going on Independence Feb 17th, its a cococay one too. Super excited!
So excited for my first RC cruise out of Miami end of next month! We’re gonna tear it up
Nice timing, going on Indy for the first time in 9 days. Thanks Matt for the review
Going on Indy in November and cant wait!!
Wonderful and helpful video, thanks Matt.
Many years ago, my wife made a cartoon for an English sports instructor, with the title "Fish and Ships" Maybe the name stuck!
Can't wait to try that delicious fish!
Loved the Indy in the past sailing out Southampton & Miami now its coming back to Southampton in 2025 will be on again in May 25 cant wait .
I love Indy! Tons of amenities for the price.

The escape game is amazing, wow !

I miss this cruise man 😭😭😭
Looks so huge! We’re going to UK next April 2025. Can’t wait

Will be on Independence in March!
Going October 5th-10th! Thank You.
Independence looks pretty good. I would have thought it would be boring and without many of the fun and things for kids such as the water slides
Saw this ship returning to Miami after a 3 day Carnival Conquest and wondered what it was like. This will be our next cruise. Hopefully a 4 or 5 day cruise
You forgot to mention that you can get shakes At Johnny Rockets with the refreshment pkg or deluxe pkg. no extra charge.
Thinking about booking Indy in January!
Just got off last week! It was my first repeat ship, i do like the freedom more ( ik they are sisters) i like the pool deck colors and el loco fresh more than fish and ships
I think of all the RCL ships I've been on - and it's only been 3 - I enjoyed Indy the most.

I love the Indy. Come back to port canaveral
Can’t wait to sail Indy next year! I’d be curious to know if anyone has done an all access tour on this or one of the other freedom class ships?
Be on it in Jan!:)
Not sure if this is something you could do easily, but can you make a video on the explorer of the seas? I have a cruise booked on it, and was curious what it's like before I go.
Going on Rock Legends 2025 cruise in February 😊
Magnifique 😮
looks like an awesome ship!!! are the other freedom class ships the same?
Yes, freedom and liberty
Why is the sky pad not used for the trampolines anymore? Love the video!
Royal never said 🤷♂️

Do you need to carry a cup with you at all times in order to use the Coca-Cola Freestyle Machines? (w/ a beverage package)
This is my bride's favorite ship.
Is Fish and Ships complimentary?
Why do they never redo the rooms? They are old and worn
matt, the B&J Cows are gone? i just booked that "B&J sweet", please tell me that you can still enjoy the old amenities that were being offered when they were partnered with B&J.
It’s gone

We had the exact same experience when we cruised on this ship last March. Won't be booking this ship again.
i wanna know what company is sending their higher ups on a cruise for a conference meeting😂 a public cruise at that
Is it true they are banning the outlets on the Seas ships?
Power outlets have always been banned, but they added some new verbiage: www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/09/19/royal-caribbean-bans-multi-plug-outlets
My daughter and friends just were on Indipendence. Very disappointing. Poor service, unresponsive maintenance, bad food, hairs in drinks. As an RCC lifer, very disappointing.
Hairs in drink? Don't be ridiculous? Bad food? Bad service? So your daughter and friends are divas and liars!
I'm sorry but those fish and chips look like a poor interpretation of the British classic.
