They’re millennials. They’re energy is different. A lot of millennials are still big kids. Especially if they’re born in the late 80s and the 90s born ones. 1987-1996 those are young millennials so I’m not surprised by their reaction. I’m a young millennial but I wouldn’t have been reacting this way, it’s cool to laugh and have fun but still I get what you’re saying.
Be professional at the same time. There’s a time and place for everything. Some places aren’t meant to always make everything out of joke. Shawn is a older Generation-X so he’s 57 years old talking to a bunch of guys in the prime of their lives from the ages of 27-33 years old.

However I’m sure my military experience probably helped me mature MUCH FASTER than most, as well as how I was raised. However I have ALWAYS felt like MOST millennials were LAZY and LACKED MATURITY, which I still feel to this day. However I must admit I never considered it the way you so clearly and eloquently stated it. I’m not saying it’s fully swayed my opinion BUT it has given me something to consider the next time I feel shame or get embarrassed (aka gringe as the kids say today) by a millennial, thank you for helping me understand better.
