Fieldsports Britain - Cai's big UK pig
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Action and suspense in the woods for Cai Ap Bryn as he heads to the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire as part of a team shooting British wild boar for the table. The guys at Deerbox.co.uk are struggling to keep up with demand for boar. It’s a tough outing for Cai in freezing temperatures but wait until you see his smile… Meanwhile, Dave ‘the Dog’ Templar is training a spaniel to work open ground. He offers his tips on that. And there’s a battle brewing over deer between two of the cheerleaders of the Scottish land reform movement. The Assynt Crofters Trust is fed up with wounded deer staggering off neighbouring John Muir Trust land, and is now considering buying out the JMT. You couldn’t make it up. We are giving away five pairs of tickets to the Great British Shooting Show at the NEC (17-19 February 2023), David reads the news on the news stump and James Marchington has Hunting UA-cam. It’s all in another magnificent episode of #FieldsportsBritain

Really good watch thanks team. Thank you for mentioning my video, much appreciated!
Keep up the good work chaps!
Thank you Charlie and team for the latest updates for a brilliant video.
Brilliant guys, fantastic topics.😊👏👏👍❤️🇬🇧
Hello Charlie and the team, awesome videos for this week with great footage, sceneries and contents, loved the Red deer in Scotland, use to hunt there when i was in London in 1970s.Thanks and thumbs up from Down Under,, Tony.
Thanks very much, Tony. all the best to you, too. / Charlie
Hey Charlie. Loved the piece on Scotland and the wild boar. Love the longer episodes. Well done all.
Thanks
Many thanks to all for another awesome show. We only have feral pigs down here ,so a lot of pest control goes on but not a lot go for human consumption.A bit too risky disease wise in some districts but it can be done if you check the health of the animal. Thanks again from Australia.
I remember the Asterix comics and how they always hunted and ate wild boars. What is it like in Britain?
This out of season cull at Assynt, needs to be stopped. What do the John Muir Trust think they are doing?
I once learned there are no wild pigs in the uk. When and why did it chanced? It‘s probably answered later in this clip? Thanks for support!
Thinking of the Forestry Commission's guesstimate of wild boar numbers, when you contrast their number of circa 400-500 with the numbers killed over a year on the roads, you cannot but wonder at the accuracy of the FC's guesses. I myself think they're guessing low by about an order of magnitude.
terrible form to be shooting into a mature tree to zero
That's fucked up man. No living being shut be stabbed like that. I'm a big hunter and vermin control hrer in Ireland. I own over 8 knives. I would imagine it's no a nice way ta go rather than be just dropped on the spot with a licensed firearm. 🤷♂️
My favorite part of Wednesday!
Fascinating with the British Boar, mainstay of many a young knight to be baptize as the practice for later camåaigns to come through the ages.
Good shooting looks like a good night well done
In the southeast US, we use 5.56mm out of AR platforms. .308 sounds big for a pig but it will work well!
Shooting wild boar at night with a thermal And blowing holes in mature trees come on Charlie, you can do better than this
Where’s David’s producer/director editorial head at ? Filming shooting CF rounds into a tree ( really bad form ) and leaving it in the final edit ? Put aside any and all arguments regards this no matter how you dress it up it’s is not a good look, especially when there are plenty of people just waiting to jump on the least little thing to call us all out .
Could of easily mocked up an earth zero back stop and cut that in the edit or just leave that out completely with K explaining on camera the rifle has been successfully zeroed 🤷♂️.
I live in the forest. Ive shot 2 pigs in the last week both just over 85kgs
First👍
Do you have any problems with trichinella in uk?
Here's 1 solution...Let The John Muir Trust track n tag the Deer to be culled and let the Customers of Assynt do the shooting. I'm sure the Customers will understand that only tagged Deer can be shot to secure their Survival.
If you want to experience a mass cull fly to Texas. Depending on the size of the plot of land and the group of hunters I have seen people take boar in the teens. Quite a lot to gut and dress out but the meat is beautiful and basically all you do is pay for the ammo that you use.
That clip with the stag being stabbed was absolutely barbaric, what is wrong with these people, disgusting,
Protecting trees but zero into a nice tree 🤦🏻♂️
1 boar and 1 dead tree, well done boys 😠
Having a closed season for boar 🤣🤣 they don’t breed like deers as they breed and have young all throughout the year.
Many times I’ve had them with piglets and also already pregnant again with 6-7 inside
Self imposed season….. 😂😂😂😂😂 Yeah ok
I find the music so irritating whilst people are talking.
4:00 unethical shot.
Slow the speech a bit. Sounds like loose false teeth.
First
And they wonder why I unsubscribed from this the shooting world is under enough pressure as it is putting my livelihood at more risk it’s obvious it’s run by a load of amateurs
Kitfinder? Shitfinder more like. Entered all the details and uploaded photo's 3 times. Get to the end and it immediately puts you straight back to the start. The only thing I found was inner rage.
