    I hope American Steamship slaps some paint on their boats this year during lay up. Great video. I miss seeing the boats coming through. I can't wait for the Locks to open back up.

    I work at the Ren Cen and every once in a while that thing comes cruising down the river... It's always impressive. Cool to see it that close in all that ice.

    That ship can carry approx.65k tons of coal or taconite iron ore and unload it in approx.8hrs w/no breakdowns!!

      Anders K Andersson They are designed for practicality and not aesthetics. I find them beautiful. It’s all up to what you’re used to seeing. I’ve seen these ships ever since I can remember.

      I didnt realise your beautifull ship is bulk carrier mate. May she and her crew sail safely.I have a friend here in australia who worked on ulcc/vlcc ships as a cadet then captain for 40 years.I work as a volunteer deckhand on steam powered paddlewheel boats here in australia and my friend had told to me about big ships like this one that i find it interesting to see on here.

      These big ships are called "lakers" because they only sail the great lakes of North America. If they went out on the ocean they wouldn't last very long!

      Abhijit Shetty The water is stained from the clay bottom and the minerals from the forests and rocks. It’s pretty interesting actually.

      The water has a natural stain from the forests. It's actually pretty clean for harbor water.
