Jane and Serge had a 12 years relationship and a daughter (Charlotte Gainsbourg) but were not married (they both were married before to someone else, though).
Jane’s signature style still looks as fresh, modern and innovative as it did 60 (!) years ago. I can’t think of any other fashion icon who transcends time like that, she was one and only… RIP🕊️ and thank you for your tribute, Mary!
It is really disappointing to see media reducing her life to 10 years with Serge and always 20+ y.o. fashion icon. Therefore, I really like that you mentioned her later years and included photos of her being older. She was so genuine in her style and it’s amazing how she expressed it through the decades.
Absolutely fascinating. Well done on a very interesting presentation of Jane Birkin's amazing style. She really was a natural beauty. Unique. Who knew that a white T shirt and jeans could look so fresh and, well, stunning. I remember when her record with Serge Gainsborough was in the UK charts, I was maybe 15 years old, and it was so scandalous, no one had ever heard anything like it. Fun times. The best times. RIP Jane Birkin, thank you for making our hum drum lives better and more exciting.
your born with class ppl think they have it but they dont once in a lifetime are there some ppl that are classy they dont try to hard they just have it e.g grace kelly lana turner diane carroll twiggy britt ekland just natural beautys that know how to dress the list goes on but in my view as a woman those are the ones i chose and this woman jane birkins rip sweetie
Effortless chic. RIP JANE. ....(her mother JUDY CAMPBELL was a beautiful lady also , WATCH her sing a nightingale sang in Berkley SQ on u tube ..MAGICAL)
Yes, in photography we can make a dress look almost transparent. Even if in real life, it is not. The flash, the lighter printing of the fabric area are the main factors. Backlight too is a factor. Very nice video. Thank you for this tribute to Jane Birkin.
She was like Debbie Harry in her heyday, they could wear a bin liner and they would look stunning! RIP phenomenally beautiful and stylish lady. And thank you for that classic breathlessly sexy song.
JANE BIRKIN "the dream in the drawer" and in the THOUGHTS of all the boys of that time: her very sweet and sensual voice given to us when in 1969 she imprinted on vinyl the few phrases of the song JE T'AIME ... she made the world fall in love whole and not just the male one. She had CHARM and possessed a NIGHTMARE BEAUTY!!! She was also a successful woman in the arts for a good decade. I sincerely hope to be able to meet her BEAUTIFUL and HAPPY again in her new home and sing with her and endlessly a hymn that will vehemently make all the souls of heaven gasp: “JE T’AIME”…!!! 💔❤
What a beautiful way to honor this gorgeous woman. And although it's a sad occasion, I enjoyed watching this new episode of your style analysis series so much. These will always be my favorite videos of yours. I have the biggest respect for how much effort it must take to do such a good research and presenting it in such a nice and adequate way.
Thank you for this straight forward video that pays homage to this wonderful icon at different ages. She's so much more than the bag that's become a status symbol.
Beautiful, well done video! I think the word "iconic" is overused in fashion but Jane truly was. So influential with such a casual, carefree style. P.S. I'm so happy you called out her collab with A.P.C.
Jane birkin is unique bless by bless of nature objective beuty period no need of stupid implants or fat weird lips etsy so she is absolutely an beuty stylish icon not even vogue directors are....and yes they can wear that mini mini cause her body is awesome not vulgar
did you notice that Serge is carrying a large berkin (or what looks like a large Berkin) in the first photo of the two of them walking through the airport(?)
she herself was not just bags and clothes, she was a real artis untill the end. not her fault if people care more for the bag than the lady herself. as says Lala ace in one of her songs, you want a birkin, you don't even know Jane ...
I think her style an aura in the early years is phenomenal still. I don’t like her look as a more mature woman at all though. It is like she herself has said in an interview, that there was a point when she realised she had lost it. Her beauty. But she also lost her style and shine.
Jane and Serge had a 12 years relationship and a daughter (Charlotte Gainsbourg) but were not married (they both were married before to someone else, though).

Right! She married John Barry for 3 years. Split

Thank you for such an informative video. As I own two Birkins too, this was very interesting. I didn't know that Margiela was a designer at Hermes.

Ironic that I became mesmerized with her about two months ago and am about done with Munkey Diaries. Sad to hear she passed.

Yes! He originally had the HAC. Good eye!
Мне очень жаль…
Sweet freedom beautiful it girl
Great video! Serge and Jane never married though!
Nice comment on Jane Birkin’s style.
That rattan bag is SO impractical for a woman really walking the city streets.
It's workers and sellers are cheap
Maybe big H will make a Birkin with patches and baubles in her honor.
She was like a supermodel
She was never married to Serge
r.i.p. jane. it's the end of an era.

OMG! Yes❤
Celebrating her for what?! For wearing clothes and sometimes not wearing anything?! Get your priorities straight, people!
...why did you even bother clicking on this video since you have so much more important priorities than the rest of us.
she herself was not just bags and clothes, she was a real artis untill the end. not her fault if people care more for the bag than the lady herself. as says Lala ace in one of her songs, you want a birkin, you don't even know Jane ...
