Matt Laidlaw says you have to do these upgrades within 60 days of purchase for it to be covered by the factory warranty? Is that always the case? Me I don't worry warranty issues because I bought used, a 2015 Iron 883. Love it! Doing a stage 1 upgrade now. Thanks Doc and keep'em coming. Rode safe!
I did a Stage 2 torque upgrade on my 2018 Fat Bob fxfb. I kept getting a check engine amber warning lamp. The DTC codes were indicating history codes related to O 2 sensors both front and rear. I took it back to the dealership and they reset the push rods and sensors. Now there is no issue after a tune and the power is now outstanding. The only point now is that there is a ticking sound from the engine which goes somewhat like “tik tik tik”. The dealer says that it is normal and there is nothing to worry about. This was not there during Stage 1. I also noticed that during a cold start in the morning the sound is not there but as the engine warms up after riding a couple of kms the sound can be heard. Can someone throw a light .
Thanks Doc. I've always wondered what each stage was in layman's terms and you just translated it all for me so that even "a 5th grader" could understand. Thank you much! Could you do the same for HDs stereo system upgrade stages? Thanks again
So what are the average costs of a Stage 2 torque install. On a 14 SGS with SE intake, V&H exhaust, Bone shaker exhaust V&H tuner . Just wondering for a rough price Thanks for the Videos ..
Hey Doc. I did the biggest upgrade on my 2016 ultra sound system. What do you mean by software upgrade??!! They didnt upgrade my software at all!! I spent $2,000 on boom box upgrades and I all I get is bass and treble adjustments!
HD should get with the times and offer some optional higher performance engines that the customer can order...The "wrenchers" are far and few now, unless a screwdriver with instructions can somehow pop out of a smartphone for this generation, they're lost.
It's the Screamin’ Eagle® Path to Performance Brochure, your local dealership should have copies on hand. If they don't, we can send you a pdf version if you send an email to doc@lowcountryharley.com requesting one.
Stage 3 and 4 should come out of the factory, stock. I buy a bike first for the engine as that is the most expensive to mod vs suspension that is less expensive and easier to adjust to your riding style. Harley is a premium bike but to spend thousands more just does not make sense.
tim tripp Your comment doesn’t make any sense! Nobody said the parts weren’t good you don’t have to replace anything. Look at this way I know and I’am sure you know plenty of people with sports cars like Camaro, Mustang, Challenger etc and they are always replacing something on their cars there was nothing wrong with their cars they just want to make them better at something like engine performance or the Stereo or wheels or paint maybe suspension why because they like to do it, nothing wrong with that and motorcycles aren’t any different, I know guys that change things on there metric bikes as well and there wasn’t anything wrong with their bikes either. Harley-Davidson isn’t going to build a particular bike to be real fast because everyone doesn’t want a fast bike they might just want a cruiser so they build just a basic bike and let the rider decide what they want. I really can’t understand why you can’t seem to understand this about people doing upgrades to their bikes & cars! 🙄
tim tripp - I am certainly to Harley fan, but your comment shows you know nothing about motorcycles. People dont replace parts on their bike because they came from the factory crappy, they replace parts to customize and individualize and make their own. For example, i have a 2016 Victory Magnum, beautiful bike, but i did the exhaust, air cleaner and cams not because i had to, but because i like the look and sound it now makes. I spent $300 on a gel insert in the seat which since having done i can now ride all day. I put in an ECU tuner, added custom bars, lots of things can be upgraded, they all come off the line the same, but i want mine to look and sound different. I did the same thing with my 2014 Indian Chief.
the faster the heat gets out the more power you get , removing baffles and jet , more power , the pipe size really will not change performance , US Air force used a 12 inch pipe on fighter engines in ww2 short can be better but diameter is everything. that is why they use a 2 inch pipe . car headers twist and curve before reaching the exhaust pipe but the diameter is the the same on headers , to match the port .
I don’t see anything for V Rods are you like the rest of the crew that don’t like VRods , that comes from the poor service I’ve gotten from Harley Davidson dealerships ?? !!!
No fancy music, straight to the point, thanks Doc.

Just did a stage 2 to my 18 Ultra with the torque cam. Love it. Keep the videos coming
Great Explanation of all the stages! Great to see you making new videos again! Ride Safe!

Thanks Doc, very good info for a Harley noob or first time upgrader.

That all good info Doc but at some point you might also have to upgrade some of the primary components.
Great info on power upgrade. Thanks
Does Harley-Davidson have the same formula for a 2013 V Rod Muscle? Thanks again for another excellent video 👍🏻
Anyone do a stage 2 torque on a 2019 RGS? Curious about the difference! Pulling the trigger in 6 days!
Great job that’s the best explanation I’ve heard yet
Great info on more power Doc. Thanks
Better software for radio???

What about older sporsters? So 20+ years?
Be happy to send you some information, can you send an email to doc@lowcountryharley.com so I can have your contact info.

Long time no see.
why don't Harly just build the bike with good parts in the first place?

Spend thousands on upgrades and still not have the performance of some others right out of the box.
Does doc Harley remind anyone else of Walter White from Breaking Bad?
Myself learning good to motorcycle ? I don't tell 😗😗
Slip-ons are going to give you anything more than the stock mufflers. Still using the same restrictive headpipes
the faster the heat gets out the more power you get , removing baffles and jet , more power , the pipe size really will not change performance , US Air force used a 12 inch pipe on fighter engines in ww2 short can be better but diameter is everything. that is why they use a 2 inch pipe . car headers twist and curve before reaching the exhaust pipe but the diameter is the the same on headers , to match the port .
Hope you've got LOTS OF $$$$$$$$$$$ COAL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
