    Timely video Doc! Been having an idling issue after warming up my 94 FXR Super Glide the past month. Bike starts, runs, acceleeates great. Idle doesn't come down (the past month). It's almost as if the choke cable is always engaged. Thanks for helping us with diagnosing issues. All my best

  • @patrickzambori473

    My VOES test is quicker. I just use a long needle nose plier, reach under the tank and pinch the vacuum line. Start the bike and let the idle stabilize, then release the pliers. The idle speed should jump up and smooth out. If not, further diagnostics is needed. Note on adjusting the VOES, always hold your thumb over or otherwise seal the end of the tower when testing the setpoint between adjustments.

    I have a carbureted 2001 Indian Scout with an S&S motor (Harley clone). When I start it, the bike does not idle. It races instead. I don’t think it’s an air leak. Could it be the VOES?

  • @dilo777
    @dilo777 10 місяців тому +1

    The epa (while it has done good things) needs to be reigned in. I wouldn’t wholesale say they are bad. But they are constantly making it harder and harder. Why do they have “noise” emissions? How does that affect co2 production? How does that make an engine burn cleaner?

    Hey Doc, I'm new to your page and having the exact issue with the VOES. You said on the video, to find out if the VOES is causing the rough idle is take it off and start the bike. I did take off the VOES, but it wouldn't start. I covered the inlet brass nipple on the carb where the VOES is connected, but still won't start. Can you give me an idea, if i am missing a step or just my voes is going bad. Last thing, will the bike starts even without the VOES? Thanks in advance!

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
