Another addition to A3 being pure evil with the high lv charts, and I’m all for it!
It's like the director said "we can only release 19 footers at a certain pace" and the stepchart designers started saying "Okay, we will rerate this 19 footer into an 18 footer for release."
I realized that a lot of the notes in this chart align with the scratch notes in the IIDX chart

This kinda pops off but A3 really turned up the heat with the 18s. Almost all of them are top tier 18s. They really need to do a split at this point. Who really thinks this is the same difficulty as Air Heroes and Max 360?
I agree! Air hero’s was even upgraded to an 18 lol. Like Avenger CSP is a great example of a hard 18, max 360 is just tiring.
Maybe bring out a 20? Make endy the first 20
At the very least, a decimal system so that its clear what the hard stuff in a lv folder is versus the easy stuff. Cause besides 19s, all the folders have a lot of stuff, with a lot of stuff in each of the 10-18 folders scaling wildly in their own folder.
Instead of making easier 19s to close the gap they just started making hard ass 18s

@@ahchurro111 This is how the hardest difficulties in Jubeat are scaled. From 1-8 there's no decimals, but from 9-10 there is. This was a life saver for me, why give one game a better scaling system than the others lmao. Konami is just cruel.

You know this chart is fine. The entire IIDX gimmick was that the chart was physically really hard to pull off with the short bursts of disc scratch rape, so stuff like jump jacks, sudden bursts of difficulty, lightning fast crossovers on the scratches etc. is pretty faithful. I’m sort of glad that they managed to make BBB appropriately notorious on ddr (especially expert) the way it is on iidx

Seriously. This is why I can't play current DDR anymore, the charts these days are utterly ridiculous at times. Back when ITG released, it had insane difficulty that made DDR look like child's play. But the difficult chart patterns and stuff made sense. When DDR came back, by the time X2 came out, charts started leaning more towards "this chart was auto-generated by an AI who thinks this is what a difficult chart should look like" lol. Ain't no way my 36 year old ass is gonna be breaking my ribs, shattering my knees, and twisting my ankles trying to even attempt any of these newer songs! Even if I were still at my prime (back when I was 19), I'd still be apprehensive about stuff from X2 and beyond. I'll stick to my old man classics of DDR - DDR X, PIU NX - XX, and ITG 1 & 2 lol. StepManiaX has brought back that feeling of classic DDR somewhat but the songs are shorter and the charts sometimes don't have that feeling of being individually unique the way older DDR charts felt.

It’s definitely an 18.7, if not higher. It is said easier in the beginning, but that’s just to make you prepared for the harder parts of the chart. Justified 18.

Lmao welp. That means Pt.2 Long Train Running will potentially end up being a 19 👀 this shit looks gnarly. And those nasty open foot jack jumps suck because there is no way to bracket those kinds of jumps unless you just have REALLY huge feet 😂😂 (notes 283-287). Meanwhile, in the CDP chart, those jack jumps are at the center of the pads, so you can at least bracket them and preserve SOME energy, though not by much lol.
Idk, I think both the single and double charts meet the criteria to be Lv 19s just on complexity and chaos alone. 18 seems a bit underrated. But I think it's because pt.2 long train running's charts will probably end up being lv 19s, or at least one of them will be. I'm excited to see what they do with those.

I mean... I haven't been playing DDR anymore since COVID or even been keeping up w/ new charts in a minute, but this chart's kinda weird, lol. Especially cause the level says 118😂

I need more DDR charts that align with record scratches.
This seems needlessly overcharted. A Challenge 17 for this would have been perfect, with mostly the same rhythms but without the ridiculous gimmicks.
The jumps are bad, but funnily enough the 24ths aren't overcharted at all: ua-cam.com/video/p52GifpU1Q4/v-deo.html is the (note-accurate) IIDX chart, all of the 24ths are scratch notes from the original chart, and in fact even both 24th crossovers in the ending correspond to having to hit keys with your scratch hand while still doing scratches. It's clever, just also very evil.
Now, the 16th jumps I have no explanation for; even IIDX doesn't do scratches there to make the giant chord wall hittable. Either that, or they just decided to chart an IIDX chord-wall note accurately in DDR, which, in that case, all I can say is if we get HIMIKO we're all in trouble lol
@@Wrswest I was more referring to the excessive jumps in the course as well. I actually charted a 17 for this song myself a few months before this chart was announced. I like most of this chart's concepts, but I feel it goes just a little overboard.
HIMIKO does need a crossover and I wouldn't be surprised if it got a level 18 or 19 CSP chart. I charted HIMIKO a while back as a "entry level" 19 ua-cam.com/video/SXSqw0mlK6Q/v-deo.html , but Konami would probably rate it a high 18.

They've added challenge charts to songs that didn't have them before, ie. Prey, ZETA, and PARANOiA kcet among others.
