@garrettfaulkner what gets me with Ford is that they're still coming with the CP4. Something just doesn't add up. 😂 Why still come with something that is a proven liability?
I’ve heard(and don’t really know) if they change it, it would be an admission of guilt that they know it sucks and class action suits would make them go back and pay for everyone and everything that has had to be fixed since they started using them. It is wild to me but I’ll only keep a truck within warranty, so here is hoping I don’t have any issues/downtime and luckily it won’t cost anything if I do.
@@garrettfaulkner It's not that bad, Keep the def out of the fuel tank, run good diesel and stay ahead of the maint. and it will be fine. There are many stock cp4 trucks out there with more then 500K
I was in the market for a 2500/250, I felt the f250 felt bigger on the inside, I liked the bang and Olsen system way better than gmc premium system. f250 is a quick truck, I kind of made my decision on my truck on a just walking by and the wife seen a ram 2500 limited, she said im going to look at that truck, she got in that truck after test driving the other two and feel in love with it. they all have the pros and cons, I am surprised with the ram 2500, I do feel they have the best exhaust brakes out of all the trucks and the harmon kardon system is really nice. I was on my way to go look at a ford f250 before picking up the ram 2500. so far im kind of impressed. but never know down the Road, one thing I see online is along of the underground guys have a easier time putting the f 250 on a diet then the other new trucks. enjoy and good vid.
Ehh. It’s really 30k more for a diesel with similar standard options? Like the high output etc? But for me I like the tech features. I also like the value retention in the upper trims, yes you pay more in the beginning but you get more back out at the sale… so it’s not really an extra cost over the lifetime. But extra features like blis, back up cameras, heads up display. Massaging seats, better build/quality matls, pro power, nicer touches etc all sway me to get a higher package I get my money back with anyway.
I am a GM guy for sure. I would definitely want my trailer brake to work. I am personally not interested in the automated driving stuff… I just don’t trust it. I understand mitigating loses as much as possible, but there is no way to know the market a couple years from now. The GMC does look better, but if you want to full time and will be pulling all the time, then the Ford makes more sense. I personally think the solid front axle will handle the constant work better. So I can understand that. At the end of the day you seem like someone who knows how to make and manage money, so at the end of the day go with what you prefer.
We are buying a Brinkley too. Great choice. I need to upgrade my GMC 1500 and have been going back and forth on Ford F350 vs GMC 3500 Denali Ultimate. I am shocked that GM hasn’t corrected that trailer brake issue. I tried to make a deal on a ‘24 Ford Limited at the end of the year but my local Ford dealer is a shady place and offered me $12k under trade in value on my current truck. So I walked out. I also really like the features on the ‘24 that they removed for ‘25. This was an extremely helpful video. Thank you and enjoy that beautiful 5th wheel!
I’m glad I could help brother, I don’t think a f350 is going to be much different other than wheels and tires, cost, suspension, brakes and turn radius. Just have to figure out if it’s worth the extra cost. I don’t really look at the extra cost because when I sell/trade in the future it will still be worth more and come back to me is the way I justify it, same with going with a better trim package, demand is more supply is less so you get more out of it later in a sense.
Great video had both and went back to a 24 f350 after a gmc. I will never go back to a gm Went with the 24 over the 25's because of the newer feature loss. The numpad was a huge deal for me as well. One thing I will say with the pushbutton start the numpad is all but worthless now. The door will unlock with the fob in your pocket and you dont want to keep the fob in your truck with PBS. With my last ford it used the regular key to start so I would leave the key in the truck and just lock the door. Can't do that anymore. Now the only time I use the keypad is to open the door to hit the garage remote at home and I don't have the fob in pocket. Agreed with 99% of everything you said while comparing the two trucks.
And seat comfort, it’s overlooked but ford wins there too. Yeah we have the g3950 toy hauler and love it, more videos to come on all of it! Thank for the support!
Real leather to fake leather seats. I had them both. Real leather is a huge pain to keep clean and also is like sitting on plastic chairs. Fake is extremely better. My 2024 doesn't have the lock on the door. My 2020 did. The amazing features of it are the two bottom numbers. With the vehicle running or not. When getting out with the extra key or fob in your pocket. You just close the door. Push the two button buttons at the same time. The vehicle is locked. I do really miss that one. Nice truck.
Great video. Just scrolling around and the title caught my eye. I'm subscribed to JB Reviews, Truck King, Ben Hardy, TFL Truck and quite a few more and just subscribed to yours. I'm not a diesel owner now, but did own a 00 F-350 XL with the 7.3 and then an 06 Harley Davison F-350 with a 6.0. It was a dealer demo with 5600 miles. I didn't need a diesel anymore and traded it after 11yrs 183k, without any major issues for a used 15 F-150 Platinum 3.5 ecoboost , completely loaded with 26k miles for 44k. Sicker was 61k. In 23 i found a 22 F-150 Platinum 3.5 ecoboost completely loaded with 19k for 68.9k. Sticker was 75.5k. They gave me 31k for my 15 with 83k miles. I was so impressed with the 15 and this 22 has really blown me away. I think the only thing i don't have is the CCD suspension, onboard scales and Smart hitch. I've done the usual mods on both . Leveled, tint, ceramic, bigger tires etc. I've only owned Ford, but it's great hearing other peoples opinions who have owned other brands. I recently watched PD Diesel Power who is a Ram guy and just added a 24 F-350 SRW Limited to his fleet. He also gives some great opinions. Thanks for keeping it real Garrett !
Maybe one day… plan on going full time rv living soon, will be a neat video explaining expenses and how we are set up to do that with our businesses etc. stay tuned.
im not brand loyal, but my second truck is 2024 f250 7.3 with 8 ft bed (must) and my first truck was f150 6 ft bed. I use my truck for my hvac business, i do not go for loaded work trucks, but XLT is the least I'll go for trims. i did test drive the gmc 2500 6.6 gas and diesel (AT4), and found more negative reviews with GMC's transmission problems at early miles like some less than 10k miles.
Enjoyably video, share many of your opinions. Ordered & almost 10 month wait for ‘24 F450 Limited Carbon Grey, lost patience on month 8, test drove Top trim 3500 Ram and GMC…plenty discounted on lots. After a few road tests, convinced me to wait… and I was a GM Owner and Jeep Grand Cherokee. With 2025 changes, and Limited trim drop… glad got the 2024! My first Ford and couldn’t be happier! The Interior in my opinion is outstanding in beauty and function… in a sort I appreciate the nice looks but more functional design and layout. The screen position and continued use of manual knobs is a premium. Comfort not even comparable, at 6’8", the cab spaciousness, larger seats well above GM and Ram. Visibility over hood, mirror placement, Running boards drop lower and extend further out, Tailgate Dual operation, Full LED lights, Smoothness of 6.7 HO not even challenged and butter smooth on the Auto Cruise, Size of Huge Sunroof over a small portal sunroof provides a much more enjoyable visionary drive and light, and ability to use ForScan are a few of the selling points. A few things wished better: Interior Dome lighting, position & size of console vault knob, and manual lower mirrors… small negative list. Amusingly, We’ve been evaluating 5th and focused in on Brinkley 3950 Full Paint Dark. Possibly have MorRyde IS installed. But holding til full retirement… maybe an even better model released…. Liked the 4000 til 3950 released. Will easily fit & carry a SmartCar. The quality, design, and engineering of Brinkley clearly show why it’s become so popular so quickly. If enjoy Truck customization: My mods after 1 month Ownership, installed solely by myself. Added Rt Auto lock hub ( replaced blank) and vacuum line kit, (TintWorld Installed) Full Ceramic Window Tint on Windows & Sunroof; greatly lowers temp and night glare…didn’t go dark, Ceramic Treatment, Install full Carli suspension, King shocks, Carli Radius Arms, Radius Arm Drops, Torsion Stabilizer Bar, Dual Fox Shock Steering Stabilizer, Sulastic Shock Absorber Shackles, AirIQ Dual Air Lift with Air compressor & 3 Gal tank, 22.5" NorthStar (Alcoa) Polished with Goodyear Fuel Max RTD 255/70R22.5 16 Ply 3 Peak, Centramatic Disc balancers. Banks Dual iDash Pod custom color matched, Banks MAP relocator, Banks Monster Pedal, Banks Air Intake and DPF-Back Exhaust, FASS Fuel & Water Filtration Kit, H&S Upper Fuel filter relocation Kit, SPE Components, Hi-Idle Kit, Kline 3 Trumpet Air Horn & Compressor, 5 Gal Box tank, Pace Edwards Electric Tonneau Cover, BedPad cut for B&W Goose ball mount & stays. Getting near done… maybe. Handles winds, curves beautifully and smooths out bridge aprons, cracks and rough roads beyond expectation… rides probably smoother than F250.
Opinions are like 💩 holes. Everyone has one and they all think they are right. Just get what makes you happy. All I hear is a lot of whining. I have own them all and they all have problems. Ford in the past has by far had more diesel engine problems than any other manufacturer.
Well my 2020 2500hd LTZ L5P was a complete lemon. Experienced 53 codes over the 4 years and 61k miles of ownership. Two different chevrolet shop managers told me to just delete it. They couldn't figure out several of them so it was best to just keep doing regens and clear the codes. The banks system really made that part easier, however, having to drive an extra 20 minutes to do a complete regen here and there was such a waste of diesel, def, and frankly time. It left us stranded in 7 states. I won't be back to another chevrolet product. They just don't know how to fix them frankly. When onstar tells you to, once you are stranded on the side of the road towing your TT, to just turn it off, open your door wait 25 seconds, and then close the door to see if your dash comes back is just a marvel is problem resolution... Oh, and my favorite was whem they put a larger fuse in to keep the cruise control and trailer lights to stay working without popping fuses.
Sorry to hear about your issues… I didn’t experience any truck related issues but more so features I missed or liked from one platform to the next lead me back to fords path.
3 different reasons for the trailer brake issue all have solutions. Rogue power from the trailer is back feeding thru the 7 pin cable corrupting the GMC trailer brake control module. There is a service bulletin for the fix we just did it. The problem is GM not notifying customers and lazy service advisors not looking it up. We just went thru it.
I talked about it in the video, why would my 25 not have the new tbc controller when the bulletin was put out almost a year ago on 24 models? That in itself is weird to me and makes me question too much about the safety of braking for me hauling in the future.
Post a review on the lane centering working when your towing. I thought it only kept the BLIS live, but not centering. If it does work that’s a game changer.
Will do, like I said in the video fingers crossed cause I don’t see a lot of info out there but it’s like a $1400 kit, so I would hope that it does for that cost alone. But I will be happy to report back once I get mine in and installed.
Yes! I wish something like this was out there when I got mine in November and kept me from buying the wrong truck to begin with. I know it’s a long video but it all needed to be said!
Honestly the problem is just buying a truck newer than 2015, long gone are the days of bulletproof trucks due to “emissions” and unnecessary electronics
Great video you hit a lot of great points. I also own a 2024 Ford 450 Limited and also own a 24 Brinkley Model G 4000. I love my setup, and i'm sure you will love yours as well. I liked listening to all the comparables and in the end, i'm glad I went with a ford as well. I love the turning radius and the high output engine tows the Brinkly outstandingly. You've earned a new sub from me. Cheers!
I know you prefer the Ford and did a good job of explaining why and you have good reason but GOD DAMN the grille and headlights are probably THE ugliest I have even seen on ANY truck EVER. Its butt ugly, dude. The GMC looks WAAAAAAY better and even the GMC is meh.
I appreciate that man! And yeah 😂 I def like the looks inside and out of the gmc over the ford(main reason I got the Denali ultimate in the first place) I’m going to do some mods eventually and make it look a little better.
I honestly agree totally with this. At this point it just comes down to features for me, used to be aesthetics, and before that was reliability, which I think none of them win in sadly anymore, all about the same.
Good Grief!!! No disrespect but your doing life the hard way. All you need is common sense. All of this assistance crap is ridiculous. Just drive where you need to go and tow what you need to tow. That’s it. No big deal. Good luck!
Sorry bro, but the EPA regulates both Ford and Chevy. It’s not like you’re gonna get away from some huge problem and go to some paradise on the other side. It’s not like that in that truck is ugly by the way looks like a freaking electric robot that supposed to be.
Then it’s ford all day hands down. Major complaints on gm comfort. Before 24 year models came out it was even worse, so the 24s is their new and improved comfort seats and it’s night and day difference still from a ford. I don’t understand why they make their seats so hard…
So in your opinion, which truck has the worst emissions DPF system on their diesels is absolutely horrible. Ford seems to be the best GM. I'm not too sure how many issues it has with the death system but the more computer controls it and you have no say and when it does, it's so-called region the more problems you end up having.
Their ALL struggling and basically all you wanted was more features. I don't own either one but you are the target consumer on making the vehicles iphones on wheels. That's why the quality, durability and longevity of them ALL are in the toilet....BUT, you can connect your phone easier, better backup camera, bigger screens, blah...blah..blah....happily pay asaperatted prices on products that are at the lowest quality in decades. When you talk about the failures of mechanicles of vehicles it's a direct reflection of the focus away from the 3 aforementioned staples of a vehicle, especially a Truck. It's your money too do as you please.
Most deliveries on 25s in upper trims still havnt happened yet. Been a shift in the truck market that sometimes takes up till march to see the new year models come to stores, so yes it’s new. They won’t start bldg the 25 platinum ultimates until march from what I hear.
I agree except when death wobble occurs for no reason and has to be fixed only with beefy expensive aftermarket parts, luckily never experienced it. Don’t think it’s much of an issue lately though.
You do realize that the 2wd trucks do not have solid axles , right? The only benefit to a solid axle is offroading. They are a nightmare for maintenance, tons of wear items , never see a ifs death wobble.
Just drove 1800 miles in December 2019 ram 3500 dually .900 with empty box trailer 900 miles full and 1 k in bed. Approx 10 k total. Had to stop get kidney belt and mouth piece.
still running my 99 f350 6 speed 7.3 it outlast any of new trash there selling the last 10 years trucks have been going downhill bad and there all junk now there always at the dealer for some dumb reason or another
I Havnt. Maybe in the future, go check out @rockyrhode channel he has had several and he has the new version set to be delivered in a few days as one of the first deliveries in the us.
Thinking A RAM Powerwagon Myself🤔.... AT4X HD or 1500 2nd Place but seeing the rear suspension Axle Connection Design on the At4x...and we'll all others... It's clearance is too low and it's vulnerable.. seen a couple At4x HDs sitting Kiddy Whompus because they hit a rock or sum with the rear suspension where it connects to the axle...Tremors Too.... The Powerwagon's Design Has A Higher Clearance And Looks More Solid/Stronger
Did you consider a Feightliner Sport Chassis? Much more capable than the standard 1 ton from the big three. Yes cost is a little more but not too much but you get so much more truck for the money
I don’t want a “big rig” this will be my daily driver when we go camping and leave the camp ground to do everything with and I didn’t want anything bigger than a dually pick up. Great option for a lot of things for sure, and super capable with tons of room but just not good for all the running around when not towing.
GMC sucked I been watching a lot of videos of them breaking down and going in the shop for more than 6 months That’s why I’m going with ram and ford and maybe Chevy
Drove Ford Diesel GM Diesel and My Ram Cummins Diesel bitch slaps them both Cummins forever because those who know know. Longevity trumps everything else.
You couldn't give me another made in mexico dodge/fiat/peugeot /stellantis thing. That gen 5 cummins which is the only good thing on that truck is not that great of an engine either. 25's might be a little better since they will be getting away from the toyota 6 speed tranny. Have to wait and see if the zf 8 speed can hold up to the torque. To many downsides to the truck with the only upside being the cummins badge.
Brother trust me. Things aren't too much brighter here on the Ford side 😂
It is just a truck at the end if the day right? lol. They all have their pros and cons.

As a new owner of the Brinkley G3950 I needed this video
Cheers!
Thank you so much! More to come soon!
Watching this reminds me of why Gm should come out with a Denali or at4 version of the 4500 pickups
Trust fund babies are what is keeping the auto business alive and well and overpriced
Dang… I want in on that. How do I apply? 😂
Man I never even got a chance to clean the GMC!
Sad truth is all brands are crappy if only in different ways. Odds are better at winning the lottery than not getting screwed over by brand x, y or z.
I honestly agree totally with this. At this point it just comes down to features for me, used to be aesthetics, and before that was reliability, which I think none of them win in sadly anymore, all about the same.
Love the keypad also!!!! Makes no sense to me why they are getting rid of it!!!!
Crazy!
ford transmission is the best. only problem is c3p pump but mine is fine 12 years 8k hours run time. delete them off warranty for sure.
I gave you a follow been torn between the gmc and the platinum
I tell why you should choose the super duty is be sure of the cp4. There awesome! Lol
I haven’t had any issues with the CP4 but I know a lot of people have. I don’t plan to keep out of warranty either 😅
@@garrettfaulknerI think you can bullet proof it. So then you won’t have to worry about it
Well I guess this sums up what I am going to buy
Hey, I’m glad I could help! Either way good trucks imo but features from one to the next was my main buying point in going with the ford.
@garrettfaulkner comfort is my main concern
Then it’s ford all day hands down. Major complaints on gm comfort. Before 24 year models came out it was even worse, so the 24s is their new and improved comfort seats and it’s night and day difference still from a ford. I don’t understand why they make their seats so hard…
@@garrettfaulkner well thanks for helping make my decision a lot easier man God bless
So in your opinion, which truck has the worst emissions DPF system on their diesels is absolutely horrible. Ford seems to be the best GM. I'm not too sure how many issues it has with the death system but the more computer controls it and you have no say and when it does, it's so-called region the more problems you end up having.
At least he keeping it real. I got to try to your channel
Thanks, I’m always trying to keep it real, hope you enjoy!
Why I would never buy a any new truck. To expensive for the same trucks just a different year.
These Canadian prices? 105k for a platinum? 115k for limited that’s wack
I wish I was lying! Getting ridiculous!
@ looks like I’ll be getting the xl model lol
It still has a CP4😂
Thats a year old truck buddy. Not new by a long shot. 2025s are here.
Most deliveries on 25s in upper trims still havnt happened yet. Been a shift in the truck market that sometimes takes up till march to see the new year models come to stores, so yes it’s new. They won’t start bldg the 25 platinum ultimates until march from what I hear.
No we not mad 😂😂 Fix Or Repair Daily = FORD.
Get Moving =GM
Especially when you can tow with super cruise 😂😂😂
You’ll be back!!
Super cruise isn't available on the HD models... only half ton.
The same thing for every vehicle
Solid axle is sooo much better than a control arm suspension.
@@Rccrdawgs💯
Garrett Faulkner i love your 2024 Ford F450 Super Duty Platinum Crew Cab Fx4 6.7 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Dually Truck Do some mods to it man !!!!!!!
Thanks! It’s coming!
still running my 99 f350 6 speed 7.3 it outlast any of new trash there selling the last 10 years trucks have been going downhill bad and there all junk now there always at the dealer for some dumb reason or another
It does have that😂 just say it’s cheaper
Ford just has bad a lot of issues
You just paid more for the ford with fake leather seats hahahaha
Ehh, it’s ok, I don’t mind.
Have You Tryed RAM?
Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. I would love to hear a good, honest review of the Ram by an everyday consumer.
I Havnt. Maybe in the future, go check out @rockyrhode channel he has had several and he has the new version set to be delivered in a few days as one of the first deliveries in the us.
@ Thanks man
Thinking A RAM Powerwagon Myself🤔....
FORD > GM
No more gmc trucks
My mom asked what truck I wanted and I told her either ram or ford cause GM suck and I don’t want to end up having problems with GM if I did drive one
They all have their own pros and cons for sure!
Drove Ford Diesel GM Diesel and My Ram Cummins Diesel bitch slaps them both Cummins forever because those who know know. Longevity trumps everything else.
I’m excited to see the new ram this year and hear the reviews…. May be next on the list.
Enjoy those hydraulic lifter failures
NO ONE CARES...✌️
Sorry to disrespect your truck buddy. Wasn’t my intentions, just didn’t work for me right now.
@garrettfaulkner Disrespect my Truck!? Idc what other people drive I just find it VERY PATHETIC Grown men have to go online an Cry! ##GROWNMANCRYBABY
