I need to see the licorice faces! Will update after watching the video also its Scandinavian Candy. Edit: Holy Crap, you guys are two champs! High Five for tasting the salty licorice! I am not a fan of it but the face expression was worth it! I will unbox your Canadian Goodies asap!
It's not about taste it's about being a coward. Noone likes salty and soar candy first time they try it but after a while it is way better then that fat and sweet candy
Epo! I agree with everything below the first sentence, but that doesn't change anything here. The fact that people called her a "bitch" and a lot of other names like that, invalidates all of your stupid points. Muting post.
The swedes (and most nordic countries, actually) have a bit of an infatuation with "salty" candies, but they actually use ammonium chloride, not table salt. It is a very intense, almost tongue-numbingly salty flavor that supposedly balances well against the intense herbal flavor of licorice.
Swede here, I wouldn't describe it as tongue-numbing. If compared to real salt, it's much sweeter and less of that 'painful' feeling of salt, and also slightly sour.
Angus Helldin It's cool if you like it, everyone has their own tastes. I've had plenty of it, I know what it tastes like. But let's be real here. I suppose some nuance might arise in baked goods that use it sparingly, but that's predominantly from chemical reactions it promotes, not from the salt itself. Ammonium chloride straight is astringent and intensely salty, and it literally numbs the tongue by disrupting certain ion channels. It also definitely has a stronger taste, because it's detectable at much lower concentrations in solution. That's not opinion, that's objective analysis of its chemical properties. Like I said, it's perfectly fine if you like it, but I'm pretty sure the only reason you would think of it as sweet, or enjoyable at all, is because you've grown up eating it and have associated it with sweets. -Hell, it wasn't even originally a candy flavor, the industrial revolution made manufacturing the salt a possibility instead of mining it, and because it's an expectorant you guys start putting it in cough medicine and lozenges. These evolved over the last ~150 into the modern candy trends.- The sources for this are actually really sketchy, so nevermind that last part if it doesn't sound right.
***** Either way, a spoon of straight salt of any kind is gonna be awful. But ounce for ounce, I'd take the table salt every time. I think that's down to a very personal level, though.
Pause, you fought like a true damn champ in the footage that you lost, and I just wanted to say that I respect you now. You are the sole winner of this season, not the fucking dragon.
i just have to say since we basically have the same candy in all the Scandinavian countries the product info is in no=Norwegian se=Swedish and dk=Danish. and we all love black (salty) liquorice. its delicious
Most people in Sweden love salty licorice, and personally I love it! But for example the djungelvrål gets really sweet after the salt is gone so if you want to try the taste you could've gotten rid of the salt before you ate it :)
You know its the (Not) UHC finale when it's an extra long episode ;). You've done a great job pause, in the actual uhc and in this awesome series you gave us as replacement for the lost footage, Well done!
Just gonna point out that Fazer is a Finnish brand. Not really a surprise that you got it from Sweden since we share a lot of the same candy in the Nordic countries. 4:24 But they're delicious! :D 5:10 The salt in salty liquorice ("salmiakki" in Finnish) is ammonium chloride. 6:35 "Pulver" is, in fact, powder. 9:05 XXXXXX''DDDDD OMFG Djungelvrål, yep game over, no salty liquorice is saltier than that, lol. 10:05 Your life has been a lie, then. :P 10:21 Lol nope, bullets. 12:28 DK would be Danish. 16:28 Why would you wanna close a box of delicious candy? :P 24:52 Yes XD - And I'm surprised that you opened the bags with your mouth, you should be able to just rip any of them open with your hands fairly easily. Also, I'd eat _all_ of the salty candy you got all in one day, any day.
19:47 Come to Gränna in Sweden. It's a charming little town (with a camping site) where the main export is Polkagrisar. REAL Poklagrisar that taste just fantastic. Not the fake supermarket bought ones. There are a lot of different flavors as well (American cola, cherry, SALTY LIQUORICE :P).
The reaction you had when you said "Liqourice is so good you don't have to add salt" is the same reaction I have to eating non-salt Liqourice. Why take away the good part?
Are you kidding? He said in the first episode of this his footage got corrupted... and the reason he is uploading this stuff was too entertain his viewers -_-
I watched both yours and beefs reactions and I know there's no competition but omg I'm glad you showed beef how it's done (especially Andrea) just because you dont like something doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. She hated one of the salty ones but laughed as she tried it. Personality = Winners!!
This is so funny! I am Swedish. A tip for the licorice candy, get through the coating and they arw much sweeter. Djungelvrål, after the salt is gone is very sweet licorice. The patroner (cartridge) are very salty, but get better after the coating is gone as well. Tyrkisk peber (finnish by the way) my personal favorite licorice! The middle part after you crack it open, so good! Awesome video, you get a like and a sub!
omg pause that enderman came out of nowhere. shame your vids corrupted tho. unrelated note, I would def like to see more of these types of vlogs in the future.
Aleks Kisilenko Yeah definitely. I don't see the point in watching people complain and eat nasty candy. At least talk about why they're strange and reflect on it.
What else would you choose after basically winning a UHC (the "ender gragon wins" thing is meh) and having the footage corrupted? You see, Pause is salty.
+Kylie Funkhouser You can't take advantage of the fact that winning meant killing the dragon, and then win without killing the dragon. Therefore the Dragon truly won, no matter who was left at the end.
Swedish salty candy is as salty as it is because way in the past, up here, we used to have one way to preserve food: Dunk it in salt. Everything goes in salt unless you just caught it, because then it'll be good even throughout the six months of winter when everything instantly freaking dies as soon as it sets food outside. So naturally, our food has always been quite salty, that carries on more or less as tradition, and as a result we develop quite a tolerance for salt. So when we want candy to have a bit of a punch, we really do have to literally dunk it in salt to get any kind of measurable effect! The Finns are our best friends because they invented salmiak (white liquorice (almost pure salt)) which we now use for everything. Edit: Pretty sure most of those chewy ones got screwed up during transit. Either they're a bit old (older they get, they chewier, even within the expiration date) or they may have been, like, frozen and thawed on the flight there, which might mess with the consistency. They're normally not THAT hard!
Quadrant555 It's not about her personality at all then. It's about your interpretation of her, which is clearly false. There was nothing wrong with any way she acted.
Salt licorice is a taste that is popular in Sweden that you grow up with. Perfect for travel when you want to have the candy for yourself. But the chocolate is appreciated.

As I wrote on beefs candy-video. Tyrkisk peber, crush them up, put it in a bottle and fill up with vodka. Then just put it away untill it has all disolved, shake it form time to time during. Excellent for shots.
salty licorice is my favorite. It´s different from table salt (that would taste horrible), it is ammonium chloride as opposed to table salt (sodium chloriede).
Pause as much as I loved seeing you and Andrea eating the candy this was one of my least favorite Non-UHCs because we didn't see the real star of them Buster!!! But in all seriousness I loved these and hope you continue to make these. Love this channel no matter what though
This is fun to watch as a Finn since I know how everything you tasted tastes like. I can't stand black liquorice unless it's salted and your hate for salted liquorice makes me laugh so much :D It's a shame you didn't get salted pingvin candies since they're the best!! But thanks for your not UHC, it was fun to watch :)
I need to see the licorice faces! Will update after watching the video also its Scandinavian Candy. Edit: Holy Crap, you guys are two champs! High Five for tasting the salty licorice! I am not a fan of it but the face expression was worth it! I will unbox your Canadian Goodies asap!
Varför skickade du ingen Daim? :(
OOOO IT'S DAT BOII!
You are amazing!
How do you rate pause's pronunciation?
du är svensk?
As a Northern European I assure you: Black licorice does need salt to be good. :P
Also, you two were really brave -- unlike Beef and Sara....
Mostly Sara tho
Agreed.
So the cancer has spread here too, idiots complaining about people's taste, and really hating on them over it...
It's not about taste it's about being a coward. Noone likes salty and soar candy first time they try it but after a while it is way better then that fat and sweet candy

conpa18dany Conquests aside, Nords are actually pretty chill.
Pause, you fought like a true damn champ in the footage that you lost, and I just wanted to say that I respect you now. You are the sole winner of this season, not the fucking dragon.
her name is Glydia!
Nope, dragon won. Thems were the rulz.
First Beef and now Pause. Really proud to be Swedish right now.
Same! :D
thackeyou
cant spell
+William Weatherford Arguing over what country is better in the comments. lol
+William Weatherford Yea right xD
i just have to say since we basically have the same candy in all the Scandinavian countries the product info is in no=Norwegian se=Swedish and dk=Danish.
and we all love black (salty) liquorice. its delicious
You have to bit into the "salta patroner" cuz it's salt inside as well 😂 I love our Swedish candy ❤️
Amazing job on the UHC pause! Still sad about the lost footage but these Vlogs really made up for it!
Favorite quote "there's more salt in the salt"(19:28)
Mine is 'are you yourself feeling salty about all saltiness?' by Andrea at 30:57
"It's from Swederland" So now we're a combination of Sweden and Switzerland? I guess we're heading in the right direction at least
Most people in Sweden love salty licorice, and personally I love it! But for example the djungelvrål gets really sweet after the salt is gone so if you want to try the taste you could've gotten rid of the salt before you ate it :)
You know its the (Not) UHC finale when it's an extra long episode ;).
You've done a great job pause, in the actual uhc and in this awesome series you gave us as replacement for the lost footage, Well done!
god dammit pause probably had the most interesting season by far and it got corrupted, guess the dragon is the true winner lol
Loved the video!
Andrea's Swedish pronunciation is surprisingly on point.
I live for djungelvrål! I'll eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner, SO GOOD mhmmh
Love it how the first candy is actually made by Finnish brand Fazer.
Just gonna point out that Fazer is a Finnish brand. Not really a surprise that you got it from Sweden since we share a lot of the same candy in the Nordic countries.
4:24 But they're delicious! :D
5:10 The salt in salty liquorice ("salmiakki" in Finnish) is ammonium chloride.
6:35 "Pulver" is, in fact, powder.
9:05 XXXXXX''DDDDD OMFG Djungelvrål, yep game over, no salty liquorice is saltier than that, lol.
10:05 Your life has been a lie, then. :P
10:21 Lol nope, bullets.
12:28 DK would be Danish.
16:28 Why would you wanna close a box of delicious candy? :P
24:52 Yes XD
- And I'm surprised that you opened the bags with your mouth, you should be able to just rip any of them open with your hands fairly easily. Also, I'd eat _all_ of the salty candy you got all in one day, any day.
the sound of a proud sweedish XD
X- Tontaube I'm actually Finnish, I just happen to also speak Swedish.
+fdagpigj E alrighty
Dog be like "hey you eat stuff...I want a bit" but being a Canadian dog it is just too polite.
You and Andrea are adorable! I hope you do more videos with her.
19:47
Come to Gränna in Sweden.
It's a charming little town (with a camping site) where the main export is Polkagrisar.
REAL Poklagrisar that taste just fantastic. Not the fake supermarket bought ones.
There are a lot of different flavors as well (American cola, cherry, SALTY LIQUORICE :P).
Damn , Pause had one job to not run straight into the ended man
he didn't, he hugged an enderman
Im so impressed by Andreas Swedish understanding, she correctly translated so many words!
Pause the powdery stuff was Swedish cocaine. He had figured out how to safely transport it
lol. wtf that's amazing
+ally Bruce no it isnt lol
youre a good troll
Must be really mild...
+TeqHDcasper it's a fuckin joke, people.
Love this! I'm actually kind of glad your uhc recording didn't work. Loving this story that is your guy's life!
The reaction you had when you said "Liqourice is so good you don't have to add salt" is the same reaction I have to eating non-salt Liqourice. Why take away the good part?
4:50 hahaha your dog is like "hey humans, what are you eating? can I have some?"
4:38
Lmao Zelda is like "can I haz"
Legit. This is much better than watching UHC. Do this like every other day or like one real life video every three days.
And this was the uhc you DIDNT record... :/
Are you kidding? He said in the first episode of this his footage got corrupted... and the reason he is uploading this stuff was too entertain his viewers -_-
well he did but it was corrupted..
Dumb
I watched both yours and beefs reactions and I know there's no competition but omg I'm glad you showed beef how it's done (especially Andrea) just because you dont like something doesn't mean you can't have fun with it. She hated one of the salty ones but laughed as she tried it. Personality = Winners!!
"DK" stands for Denmark while "D" stands for Germany.
Nah, man. DK, Donkey Kong.
lol no
Germany is DE
SwedishMindwacker Not always. Most of the times it's D actually (If I'm not mistaken) but DE is also being used.
Gabeleeen I've never seen D, always DE. Will keep a look out for it though.
Please keep doing vlogs after uhc, really enjoyed it and beer had the same idea for halloween
Djungelvrål are like the best thing ever
Anonym NEJ det är det sämsta
This is so funny! I am Swedish. A tip for the licorice candy, get through the coating and they arw much sweeter. Djungelvrål, after the salt is gone is very sweet licorice. As I am from Sweden, this is hilarious to watch. And good job on the translations
I just watched beefs uhc now Im watching not uhc
Omg pause, loved the UHC ending (the actual one)
U have almost the opposite reactions compared to Beef's, since u actually like Licorice.
They couldn't stand most of the salt licorice they are though...
Was honestly kind of refreshing seeing them being much more positive over all unlike Beef's girlfriend lol
Aleks Kisilenko Yeah definitely. I don't see the point in watching people complain and eat nasty candy. At least talk about why they're strange and reflect on it.
I love the reactions people get from eating some of our candies, so funny. Great entertainment, well done!
I LOVE SALT im swedish btw
we have salt on popcorn lol i hate sugar on popcorn
Really loving these vlogs that you're uploading
All these flavors and you choose salt!
What else would you choose after basically winning a UHC (the "ender gragon wins" thing is meh) and having the footage corrupted? You see, Pause is salty.
Hi, im new here :)
As far as I'm concerned, Pause is the true champ here. Glad u won the UHC and hopefully your footage won't be corrupted next time
+Kylie Funkhouser
You can't take advantage of the fact that winning meant killing the dragon, and then win without killing the dragon. Therefore the Dragon truly won, no matter who was left at the end.
Much better than the vid of beefs open minds here:)
Im more impressed that Postnord actually delivered the candy and that the box looks fine
in sweden we dont eat sweat cnady we eat salt
other than Marabou. Salt and Marabou
true so true
95% of the swedish candy is sweet, not salt.
Swedish salty candy is as salty as it is because way in the past, up here, we used to have one way to preserve food: Dunk it in salt. Everything goes in salt unless you just caught it, because then it'll be good even throughout the six months of winter when everything instantly freaking dies as soon as it sets food outside. pause nice job on winning uhc
He didn't win. The Ender Dragon won.
winning to the best he could. technically the dragon won but he was last man standing so I count it as a win too
Patron means catridge and I love both them, the turkish pepper and the djungelvrål/junglescream
Giving trick or treaters salted liqourice for Halloween?
I really like you two. You have such a nice family togheter!
did u beat the dragon?
Spoiler
No, death by Enderman in the End.
Whos footage did you get that info from?
lol, pause makes it solo all the way to the end (and the End), but ends up losing all his footage. Lammmmeeee
beef's
Doc has the footage
This girl is brilliant. she translates a foreign language like a boss
this > (Beef's vid)^99
Yeah, Andrea > Sarah.
Cause apparently you idiots think that taste is objective, and feel superior for some reason.
+Quadrant555
Liking more kinds of candy doesn't make someone better in any way.
Tasorius And? Did I say that? This is not about taste AT ALL, it's about personality/how someone comes across.
But the chocolate is appreciated.
you guys are the cutest couple ever :-)
She's so damn linguistically intelligent! Every damn guess is spot on! A keeper for sure.
Congrats on the win. Such a damn shame about the footage :( Ugh
but he didn't win. He was last one alive, but he did not win.
Aukavis he did, out of everyone he won.
+Mr King No. They said if they couldn't defeat the dragon, the dragon wins.
Aukavis he still won out of everyone.
+Mr King but the dragon.
The MVP of UHC
NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THE DUMLE. youre supposed to eat it like a lolipop X3
Pause DK is Denmark, I died when you thought it was freaking Germany.
Pause go on the Mindcrack podcast!!
pls poose
I love the reactions from these types of things!
The salted stuff isn't really THAT popular.
I guess people just like sending that stuff to foreigner to get the reaction.
Like a mellow version of Surströmming.
Knowing the languages at hand (both Swedish, Danish and a couple of them being Norwegian), their names do have some (at times weird) meanings:
Gott & Blandat = Good and Mixed (think of Ritter Sport and their slogan)
Bilar = Cars (that's a thing up here, for some reason)
Skolekridt = School Chalk
Pulver = Powder (also that Hockey Pulver-bizz is damn weird)
Patroner = Bullets (not patrons, for whatever reason)
Hallon Skalle Skum = Raspberry Skull Foam (yeah...)
Flæskesvær = Roasted Pork-skin pieces (quite delicious, if cooked right)
Pingvin = Penguin (Pingu is often used for these sorts of things)
Plopp = No idea, probably something disgustin' tho
Kex = Biscuit
Also, can't believe Skipper's Pipes existed in Canada aswell! Hot damn!
And yep, Mjölk is milk
Vem är svensk här :)
Neo Falk jag :)
Neo Falk jag
Jag också
Learn to open Swedish candy!!! You pull from the top😂😂😂
Its actually better from the bottom. You should try it :)
Compare this to beef n his GF h😂😂😂😂
Here comes the sneaky husky from the background to ninja up all the candy you're throwing away.
I would like to take a moment to say that Fazer is finnish so like the turisk peppar and gaisha is not Swedish candy and I wish people stopped claiming that it is. This is like the third or fourth video of swedish candy with Fazer candy in it so really it's swedish and finnish candy tasting.
Fazer is halfed own by Marabou which is Swedish so yeah its both Swedish and Finnish u fuck...
IIVGameForceIIV still half finnish so it is still both. Can't have one without the other.
Stop saying its finnish then :)
IIVGameForceIIV just reminding people of the other half. It's getting annoying after a while to hear we are tasting Swedish candy when it's not just Swedish. They really should look up the things they are tasting because they
they will just insult people otherwise.
Really loving this series.
pause you are the winner in our hearts
I wants the UHC content! Your comeback was PHENOMENAL! !!!!!!
Pretty much all foods and other items in Sweden have the same text/info on them in Swedish, Danish(DK), Norwegian(NO) and Finnish(FI).
7:42 it's chocolate covered marsh mellows with gum in side
I like how beef and pause got the idea to give it out for halloween :D
As a swede is lovely to burst out in laughter watching this. Thanks +Keralis for sharing it with them
This was like a really relaxed Canadian version of a Good Mythical Morning doing a "Will it Swedish?"...and the answer was no.
i freaking love you two. your reactions were hilarious
I'm swedish and I Love all of the salty candies, fun to watch you try them 😂
Zelda's food for me face was amazing.
I swear dude, I love these Vlogs
Pause trying to open the packages is so fun xD
"Is that just salt?" Haha that cracked me up!
ALL candies from Fazer are NOT from Sweden. So not the first one, either the Turkish Pepper and also not 23:53, 30:48. Marabou chocolate got over 10 different kind of tastes, love it!
I am from Sweden and it's sounds so funny when you try to talk swedish!
Lol, Beef had the same idea. Giving the salty candy for halloween :D
Its so fun for me a swedish to hear you try to spell the words.
As a swedish person I can tell you that your wife is really good at guessing swedish words, she got most of the words if not all the words right
Looooved this. You guys were such good sports about it haha
Pause as much as I loved seeing you and Andrea eating the candy this was one of my least favorite Non-UHCs because we didn't see the real star of them Buster!!! But in all seriousness I loved these and hope you continue to make these. Love this channel no matter what though
2 minutes in and Andrea is such a trooper! So much better than Beef's tasting video. You guys were so much more willing to try stuff and be positive!
We normally have close thingys but on boxes but I guess the Geisha did not since they are individually wrapped.
The Nöt-Crème was originally made to be used as a topping for cakes or cookies but as children, we would eat it straight out of that package.
Awsome Pause & Andrea.
Greatings from Sweden ;)
11:58 lol I really thought he was being sarcastic and bend over to spit it out
Btw, u should try snus!
