Such a pretty project. Also I wanted to let you know about this, add a touch of vanilla to your coffee dying papers. The smell lingers on your pages and it is lovely.

Nice tip! I always keep the vanilla pods leftovers when I make French toast, and put them in a tea bag to add to my journal. The smell goes right through the porous paper and makes the whole journal scrumptious 😊

Hi Barbara, I have enjoyed watching your process. You always make everything look so easy. Today's color combinations are beautiful. I have been watching Maud's channel since your collaboration. Not sure if you have had time to visit, but thought you might like to see her Journal with a Girl and Kitty on the cover...she added mini lights and Framed the cover with other things, and then she added a water color/drawing booklet above the light battery matchbox and signature on the other side. Hello Barbara, what fun to see this process and in Art Nouveau! Your cover turned out gorgeous! I studied Art Nouveau in Art History in college and my first fave was William Morris, second runner up Klimt.
When I use gesso to journal over I sand with extra fine sand paper and it makes a lovely smooth page to write over.

I have always loved this style of art and I am saddened that there is little representation of it In my home, Canada. There is a group of artists that I do love here known as the, The Group of Seven”, that I enjoy and you might as well. It is very stylized and and beautiful as well and often has a natural theme. The group had visiting artists, one from BC where I am. Her name was Emily Carr.

Enjoyed the historical review and local connection. Lovely journal. I don't mind the little movement on the stenciling. You can always add a fall green color to add to barely outline the portion of the image and makes it look like more foliage was there.

You could glue tissue paper over too dark stamping to give you a writing space. Tissue paper is fun to write on.
This has been a great series to watch for inspiration as i am about to enter my first altered book swap so thankyou for all the great ideas.

totally love your entire book. What about adding some of that lovely copper paste to the edges of the book cover? blend it softly....wouldn't that be the cat's meow???

That stiff bristled brush doesn’t allow you to lightly blend in your your gesso. Try thinning it and sponging it on, or use a soft brush.
That is BY all means...
Marks on paper are added charm.
Looks like you need some reinkers for your distress oxides lol
