Interesting idea to use magazine visuals as journaling prompts. Love it! This was not what I was expecting when I pressed “play”, but am so glad to find it and to find you. I love these magazines and have many; now I have new ways to treasure them and be inspired to make words as well as projects. Will definitely subscribe. Thank you ❤
Oh wow, thank you for journaling ideas, I never thought of using magazine pictures to use as writing prompts. Never heard of those magazines you mentioned, thank you so much. You broaden my horizon, love it!
What a cool idea! I love how you do journalling research projects inspired by these magazine prompts. I have something kind of similar - I call it my Miracle Book, based on the saying 'live as if everything is a miracle'. I choose a topic (plants, animals, natural phenomena, inventions, etc.) and look up some facts to write about it. But I just use stickers to decorate it - using these kinds of visual prompts is such a cool idea. Thanks!
What a great idea to use a magazine image as a journaling prompt! Love it. I like all the mags you mentioned, and I also like Daphne's Diary for the beautiful images and Where Women Create for their gorgeous art room spreads. I've certainly been inspired by your idea. Thanks so very much!
So weird! I just saw Somerset Studio magazine today at Real Canadian Superstore and was blown away by the content. It’s so well done and the art and idea’s are just amazing. Then…I happened on your channel, and you are raving about it ! What are the odds!!! I have never seen it before anywhere, but it is my new favourite go to magazine. Also love that you like to put full page’s in your journals, me too! Thanks for the reinforcement that it’s not just me😅. Looking forward to your videos. Hello from British Columbia Canada.🎉
I've done papercraft for many years and a year ago began Junk Journaling. Since this time I've learned so much and have branched into different types of journals. One of my favorites I made using only pages from a magazine called Cowboys and Indians. I'd never heard of this magazine before and came across it at a thrift store for 50 cents.
I cannot help coming back to this video and watching it again and again. Thank you for sharing. I just started journaling and found this video very inspiring.
I love adding magazine cut out to my creative journal. They are excellent at filling up the page and helping me write about a topic. Thanks for showing these magazines 👏
New sub here! 😂. I almost missed this, when trying to find something else! Loved every minute with you indulging in these iutstanding journals. Your idea of how to utilise the content in a journal is priceless and much appreciated. ✨️ frim Denmark 🇩🇰
Thank you so much for your insight. Since my first mixed media class I’ve been using cutouts from Stampington magazines in my journals. They are the best! And if I share my piece on IG I definitely tag the artist and Stampington Company. I had not thought about writing a story and I love the idea! Thank you so much for sharing!😊
These are some of my favorite magazines and I keep them all. I think it’s genius how you use the images to prompt your journaling. And you use a lot of my favorite journals! Just subscribed. 😊
Fabulous video! I already do this with some of my journal pages. Someone gave me a whole stack of Faerie Magazine and once I've read them, I use them again for my journal pages. So much fun. Thank you for giving me a lot more resources to use. I love the way you create the pages with art journaling on one side and written journaling on the other. I'll do a whole journal that way.
Great ideas! Not many have have done such descriptive vids on using magazines and the magazines that can be used except you and Natasia at Treasure Books, at least not that Ive found. Awesome video. Good ideas. Btw, you can reduce the glare on mag. Pages with clear matte gesso, if applied lightly with a sponge applicator. ☺
Sam's Club use to carry some of the Stampington magazines but mine stop caring magazines. If yours does check. Also Jo-Ann's carries them as well as the UK stamping magazines that come with stamps and dies. I love Daphne's diary magazine and have a hard time cutting it in any of the stampington's up. The journaling magazine definitely gives you good ideas.
Getting them at Joann's is full price and you can't use coupons. I tried subscribing to some of stampington's mags but was always missing issue. Got to the point they probably thought I was making it up since it happened so many times that they cancelled my subscription. customer service was not easy to work with. They would say, very derogatory, again, really? Like they didn't believe me.
Extraordinarily wealth of ideas....first time I came across your video...as a person new to journal making, can't thank you enough for all these creativity ...All the best...Priya from London ...❤️🌹
Hello my first time here. Like your take on journaling. I like summer set magazine, Daphnies Diary, Real simple, and recently love Emily stone collage magazines
In the beginning I had a hard time ripping the pages from my magazines. 😮 Learned to be creative by photo copying if a page has a great image on the backside, too - I use everything. Even use the magazine cover to take and decorate over a plain travelers notebook. 😊 Thank you for sharing your tips! 👍
I couldn’t cut mine, either. Then my library started a magazine exchange area and I ended up with waaaaay too many stashed away. It was easier to chop them up after seeing the pile!
New subscriber I love using magazines also! My local library purges every so often and I take stacks of them home with me, go through them cutting what I want and store the pages in clear page covers (can't think of what they're called) in a binder.
This sounds like fun! I always feel so blocked trying to be creative but this is doable! I have the same Gingersnaps in my home now! Happy beginning of Autumn!
I only have one local store which carries them reliably. Every time I go, I buy three bags just in case I can never get them again. Hoarding gingersnaps? Yep!
Hello! Very unique (to me at least!). I do use magazines, but not in the same way. Perhaps I need to start as I have so many! I was just gifted some vintage Country Living magazines. And discovered some children’s magazines while looking for some items for a Mary Poppins journal. Wee Wisdom is not a magazine I had heard of, however it has great illustrations and articles that have my mind buzzing with ideas. Bonus, they can be found for a very reasonable price. The covers are awesome, however I found a lot of 10 without covers on EBay from the 1920’s. Less than $2 (plus shipping). Not only will I use for journals, we are enjoying reading them and playing along with some of the “games” (like hidden items pictures). Thanks for sharing and inspiring! (My hubby is from Ohio!)

🌷 You’re so welcome! And I really like the idea of a Miracle Book celebrating the wonders of nature. I might just do the same!
Love all things journaling. Ive found great inspiration with “Daphne’s Diary” too. Love me anything by Somerset.

First time here and LOVE this Video!!! Thank you for sharing!!
I love these types of episodes! Thanks so much!

just discovered your channel. Delightful and informative. I love collaging and enjoy different ways to use that type of art. Carol from California

I use art books also for journaling and for pictures in my gold vintage frame for my gallery wall
Yes! So many of the Stampington pages are frame worthy, and the paper is sturdy enough to do it without wrinkles. 😊
These are really cool ideas I haven't thought of. I must say I'm so glad I found your channel. Love it so much!

I keep hearing about Daphne’s Diary and need to try it!
I was watching this I kept thinking how disappointing it was that Sam's no longer carries magazines. They did have several of those.

Page protectors for the win! 😊

Country Living Magazine inspired three generations of my family in allllll our decorating. I should look for some vintage copies. Thanks for the idea!
We also have Edible Magazine here in Canada. Free at some local stores or subscription. Features local fare, great photos and non-shine pages.
Does your Maine Acadia journal bulk up with all the pages you add to it? It looks really sturdy. Thanks.
No, not at all. I’m surprised! It’s about half full, with something on every spread, and when it’s closed I can’t even tell.
Stampington magazines and subscriptions really expensive here in Canada.
I like the discounts available via the back issue sale online, but I bet shipping costs are frustrating.

I have a weird style 😂 but I love Charleston style & design, lurzer archive, mantra wellness. Love this idea of the images prompting the entry!❤
Mantra Wellness looks fun! I'll look for a print copy. Thanks for the tip.
Kinda funny, how you said... Favorite, HUMAN beings... this almost sounded like, you're not..??👽🤣
Ha! I do feel like a cat sometimes - pretty much nocturnal with lots of naps and minimal attention span. 🐈
