College shouldn't be free in the US but it should definitely be reformed as to where the money is going. They really need to revamp the syllabus and include better and more relevant skills. I know kids graduating from engineering school who aren't even trained in basic commercial software that universities have the ability to get for free.
I think college should be free because. It can motivate people that go to public school specifically to keep going because they can have free college but even if college isn't free it should have a "trial" for college and see if they should go and if they do they can start getting money if they haven't been saving already.
Intercollegiate athletics in the US are way out of whack. I know some people getting into university because of gymnastics or some shit and get tens of thousands of dollars worth of training. This really sets back academic research for people who WANT to do it.
Work hard in high school get great grades and test exceptionally well on placement exams and your college is free or almost free in most states. Don’t want to work that hard? Fine, but don’t put your hand out. You didn’t earn it. community college. It’s an economical way to get started and get into a university especially if you don’t have the grades/test scores from high school (that’s what I did and no one gives a damn that half my classes were taken at CC). Finally, if you want a free education, free room/board and pay, join the military and give something back (I did that too).
Im with you either work you ass off in school and get a acholarship or join the military and trade your time for free college fee there way to get into college without paying for it aint gonna be easy but nothing in life is free lunch is the biggest lie out there
