- After spending the previous night in the Scafells I drove around to Grasmere for a lower level chilled out camp before heading home. Got pitched up in the Hilleberg Allak just before sunset with lovely views towards the Langdales.
A 5 mile walk with 1309ft of ascent.

The Pleasuredome is a hilarious name for a tent, even more so if it’s a nod to the Skegness/Fantasy Island raves from the 90’s, given that the Lakes are so far removed from that 😂

I’m not the only one who has crap sleeps and in the morning feels terrible 😂 , cracking camp looked very peaceful and the light in the morning is always special .📷⛺️👍 well done on the 100th my 100th is about 5/6 camps away .

Like you said, they can't all be epics and why would you want them to be? We do this cos we want to be able to relax and enjoy it, it's exciting but it's not always fun doing 20 mile horseshoes and clinging onto a mountaintop in 60 mph winds.

Thanks for another great video. I recently bought a UCO candle lantern a tea light one. Check them out I think you would enjoy having one. They are small and don’t weigh anything. Good for warming the hands up and keeps condensation down in the tent.

Love the Skylarks singing , one of my favourite sounds . I camped on Birks last year and a Skylarks was singing above me in the dark at midnight , very strange but a welcomed sound .

In 2021 my wife and i walked through that up to Sergeant Man for our first wildcamp in over 20 years. Found navigating all the lumps and bumps quite confusing, but great views. Enjoyed this one. Congratulations on 100 camps, your experience shows. ATB, Roger

Super one, as always, Dave, and the chilled, shorter route videos are just as enjoyable as the epics as it's all part of the experience in the mountains. I had to laugh though - it's an easy one, he says, as he charges through Grasmere at warp speed and then puffs uphill like a steam train! I love that ridge between Silver Howe and Blea Rigg, with the views to the Langdales, so I recognised your pitch and remember it well. It's a super ridge to bimble along and just relax and explore all the nooks and crannies. Last time I was there, it was roasting hot I remember. Super sounds of spring to hear the Skylark and see the frogs spawn. Another sign of spring I love is the first Wheatear arriving back (or White Arse as it's also known, for good reason!). Congrats on the 100th camp - well deserved and don't do yourself down. You have indeed gained a great deal of experience in a short time, which is great. Quick question - what are the down booties you're wearing with your down pants in the camp? Are they Rab too?
Yes Irene. Don’t think I really do easy ones do I 🤦🏻♂️. It’s lovely up there and was so quiet for my trip. The boots are Montane Prism booties 👍. Take care - Dave

Hi Debbie. I don’t give out exact details of my route or camping spots. Instead I prefer to encourage people to do their own exploring, just as I do. There are lots of clues in my video about my location. Good luck with your exploring 🙏🏻
