Doing the Lord's work
I stopped sleeping on whiskey years ago. I bought a bed and pillow. Way more comfortable.
Underrated comment
And more affordable
Damnit. I hate that I laughed at this
Truth hurts interwebers
Looks like you slept through the lecture on figurative language in English class.
This is my favorite format from BJs. Light and fun not yet replicated anywhere else on WhiskeyTube, not too forced, knowledgeable and honest enough that I want to go buy the recommendations. More of this. THANKS!!!!
Totally agree with the John J Bowman. Great Blantons alternative.
I have a JD SBBP that is insane! Totally banana bread with peanut butter. Not even a store pick. Great stuff.
Got some last weekend and agree it’s awesome and smooth for such high proof
Cooper's Craft is $28.99 in PA, I bought 4 more after trying it. So good.
I must say, props on the Bowman whiskey pick. I love them.. if you need more..all over VABC 's. No problem grabbing one for you all.
Does this offer only extend to them? Inquiring for a poor Florida resident who doesn't see them ever.
Those heat-cycled warehouses at Old Forester are straight-up magic.
Ironically, I picked up the Sagamore Calvados finish yesterday and had a pour last night- BANGER! Going back to get another today, there’s no way it should be this good. God vid, cheers!
On Sean’s side for once-Evan Williams SiB and Chattanooga being included garners some respect. We gotta get another bottle of Chattanooga for our blind pool. Great list on both sides guys.
Haha! Love the transition to the skin care products..I was honestly hoping for a bidet ad
idk if we can put that on youtube....
@@BourbonJunkies probably true. If you guys ever get affiliated with Hello Tushy... I’m all in 🥃🌬🚽👍🏻
Being from Virginia it's nice to see a Nice single barrel so good and affordable. Good pick with the SB Bowman.
I'm moving to Virginia Beach in July, I'm not looking forward to the ABC store process. Is it as big of a pain as I think it will be?
@@oboecoe I’ve had pretty good success navigating the ABC process. Come up to Fredericksburg and check out Bowman. As the guys mentioned, the bourbons are good and the port-finished bottle is a great value. Good luck, and welcome to VA!
@@oboecoe yes it is but when you do find a good bottle it's at a MSRP.
You guys are the reason I go to local distilleries get stuff that tastes great not a lot of people know about it and price isn't stupid high.
Just got my first bottle of New Riff Single barrel Barrel Proof.. 🤯 unbelievably good
Tin Cup. It's a really nice rye at a good price. Plus a free tin shot glass with most bottles (fyi try drinking it out of a metal cup, really improved the flavor profile)
My number one most underrated whiskey is Davidson Reserve Sour Mash. PLEASE try a pour if you get the chance! Based out of Tennessee, costs around $30 depending where you're at!
I got the Bowman standard and love it. The port finish was more expensive than Angel's Envy... Haven't seen the single barrel yet.
Chattanooga 111 and Cooper's craft are fantastic. Cooper's craft 100 will be a fantastic early time BiB replacement when the early times label goes away to BT. Sucks cooper's craft isn't a 1 liter though like early times :(
That Chattanooga is so good...thanks to you two I own a few of these....guess I'll move on that EW next.
I agree 100% with the Jack Daniels Barrel Proof and the Chattanooga Whiskey 111 Cask. Two of my favorites. I always have them on hand.
Sean nailed it outta the gate! Evan Williams SBV is price per quality one of the best out there. Consistent, flavorful, available, and cheap are not often qualities found in bourbon in most liquor stores. E.w. sbv, breaks the rules for that. It's a staple in my collection and should be for everyone especially beginners just starting to acquire a few good bottles.
Yep. EW SB is the first bourbon I had that opened my eyes that there is more out there than Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. Then my journey began.
Blue Note uncut unfiltered. Picked up a barrel pick recently. Smoothest 120 proofer I can remember drinking
The entire Redwood Empire line is excellent! Lost Monarch is just special
Craft distillery in Indiana called Starlight. Their double oaked is amazing , NOT sourced over 100 proof and available in store picks.
Totally agree that Redwood Empire bottles are sleepers. Haven’t seen Cooper’s Craft on shelves in my area yet, but hopefully that will change soon. Gotta disagree on the Chattanooga 111. I know most reviewers love it, but it’s just too aggressively young for me. You can tell there’s amazing quality in the distillate, but it’s too pointy, tight and green for my taste. But I know I’m in the minority. Anyway, another great video. Thanks!
I actually just cracked my coopers craft tonight just before starting this video. I would definitely have to agree with you this is an excellent bottle for the price and a neck pour at that!
Shout out to Terry at my local, he gave up a boootle of Lost Monarch he was hoarding. Otherwise I would have had to have driven 55 miles.....bottle #2 love em
The John J Bowman SiB is allocated here in Florida (ABC Vault). Friend in VA mailed me one last week...delicious!!!
I walk past Bowman every time I go to the ABC store. Will pick it up next time
Our pick for most slept on would be Penelope Barrel Strength. Four grain MGP with tons of flavor.
I picked up a bottle of that Cooper's Craft back in 2019 via a recommendation from a super nice KY liquor store owner (I was on vacation at the time) and it's so good. Cheers, gents!
Definitely agree on the Coopers'. I'd also say Russell's Single Barrel Rye. People seem to disregard it, but it's so rich, easy, and delicious all at once. Quite possibly my favorite rye.
Bowman's SB is great, definitely worth picking up if you like Buffalo Trace mashbill 1.
Chattanooga 111, port cask and rye are awesome! Gotta let the port cask open up though.
I've tried the Coopers Craft and it is a good buy at $30 here in SC, and just bought the Chattanooga 111 last week and its a hitter for sure!
Wilderness Trail BP rye is another BP rye that is somewhat available and great. Love the list
Wilderness Trail is putting out some excellent product.
At last! I have obtained JJB in the Orange County area. cheers BJs!
I know it's not everywhere, but Huber's Startlight in Indiana are delicious!
Yea we just did our Starlight pick, can't wait for that one to come out.
Just bought the Cooper's Craft 100 on your recommendation. $32 here in Florida. Worth. Every. Penny. Very nice 100 proof for $32. Thanks guys!
Glad you're enjoying it!
Hell yes!!! Chatt Whiskey and Coopers Craft... both are fricken stellar. Coopers 100 proof has become a staple in my daily drinkers. Only thing I hate about these lists... now these will become a little tougher to find or they will go up in price. Love the Redwood Empire too! Cheers fellas.... and Dan didn’t completely piss Sean off!
Larceny... great “daily” and always on the shelf
I've been drinking a ton of coppers craft before seeing this video. It is amazing
The coopers craft is amazing. Love it!
Yellowstone single barrel is another good one not to sleep on. Reminds me of the better expressions of Bookers.
Glad to see that Chattanooga Cask getting some love. Some good juice!
a year ago, i would have said James E Pepper 1776 Cask Strength rye.... but they discontinued it.... probably for their Old Pepper Single Barrels (110 proof). but those are solid too and shouldn't be slept on either.
Love the list. Evan Williams SiB was my very first daily drinker. Several others on the list looking forward to trying.
Same wave length. Just emailed you boys about wanting to send you guys a bottle of Coopers Craft 100! Its on of 5 bottles that everyone needs to have.
Sagamore Double Oak all day. they need to do that one > 100 proof
Glad to see two of my picks make your list. I didn't think I liked Jack Daniels either until I tried their single barrel and reserve pick- so good so value!
Love the Chattanooga products just picked up the 1816 Chattanooga 113 so good.
I want to like Jack Daniel's but I can't stop tasting bananas!
The redwood empire rye and bone snapper rye are in my top 5 favorites!
Just got a bottle of Redwood Empire Lost Monarch from my brother out west, can't wait to give it a try per the recommendation.
Haven’t watched the video yet seeing there was an ad but GIVE KELLY HER WRENCH BACK!
Haven’t found Cooper’s Craft up in Seattle but I pick it up when in Portland for around $30 a bottle.
Cooper’s Craft BIB was one of my favorite pickups when I was in KY a few weeks ago. Right up there with Early Times. 😉
I got a bottle of Eagle Rare for $33, 10 year, 90 proof, helluva good bourbon for the price.
I have to stop sleeping on high west stuff. A really good, cheap, high proof sleeper is Old Grand-dad 114. You can find it all over the place. Great video guys!
Rumor of the old grand dad becoming allocated
D@MM!T, now the Cooper's and Chattanooga are gonna disappear from the shelves and I'm a fan of both of those hitters. I thought the Bowman was meh and very relieved when you said the single barrel is legit but the SB is meh since I had the SB... Thanks for the excuse to go to the liquor store tomorrow! I know TONS of words!
Good stuff guys! Gave me a couple new things to look for and a few things I hope nobody hears about because I love them dearly! Gotta love Coopers and Chattanooga, great picks.
Great lists! Lost Monarch and all the Sagamore Spirits are awesome pours! J J Bowman SB is a great pour and value in my area at 27.00 bucks!
I'm glad Dan first put me on to Redwood Empire last year when named Lost Monarch on his "best boujie daily drinker list." Emerald Giant is $27.99 at my nearest Total Wine hahah.
Best lead into a commercial ever!!!!!! Well done
Thank you
Love Brown-Forman and gonna have to give Cooper's a try based on this.
Bought coopers tonight, I love OF, but the $22 OF is better than the $30 Coopers. IMHO I mean coopers is OK. but it should be closer to $20.
I love the EW Single Barrel. Great whiskey for the price.
Agree on the Bowman to.
Chatt whiskey cask has become my weekly drink. Love that stuff!
That Evan Williams Single runs about $60-$80 in Tennessee I have never seen it for $30 and it’s rare
This is a great concept for a video. I may do one of these myself. Thanks for the inspiration guys!
Also think people at least here sleep on Turkey and Russels and Belle Meade
Love the reg Sag Double. Have a High West double rye finished in calvados and its fantastic. .
Y’all are awesome. Love your videos! I agree with the John J. Bowman.. I actually prefer that over Blantons and EHT small batch.
Great to see the Coopers on here. Could not agree more!
100% agree with the Redwood Empire Lost Monarch. Absolutely fantastic!
Chattanooga is so good and it’s in my back door. Good list guys.
What do you guys think of Woodinville ? And thanks to you I'm using the Tiege
its great.
Its a Jim Beam product. Jim Beam double oak is great. Here in Tennessee it’s $20.00 a bottle.
I would have to add Knob Creek small batch 9 yr! Great at $27! Totally agree with Evan Williams single barrel! Cheer's
Lost monarch is the most flavorful non BIB that I have tried in a long time! I have had it 3-4 times now and I'll keep enjoying it especially for $34.99
I've had too much Crown Royal to know a good whisky from a bad one. However, I can always tell when it's not Crown.
All these are now allocated 🤣👍🥃keep up the great work
Fun list. Love, love, love Chattanooga. I would add Woodinville, Starlight and French Lick to the list. Cheers!
Woodinville yes! Smooth yet Smokey!
I think have all but a few of those. I would add the Woodinville Port Finish.
Anything from Krogman's in Indiana! Honestly though, they are making delicious whiskey, and totally transparent with their mash bills (MGP). Their labels are hilarious, and worth collecting as well. All under $30 in my area. 👌
Lost Monarch and Emerald Giant are fantastic! I knew LM would be on Dan’s list. I’ve been passing up EW SiB every time at my Jewel store. No more, Sean. Cheers!
EW Sib is a fantastic summer crusher.
@@BourbonJunkies A bourbon I think alot sleep on is the Woodinville Port Wine Cask Finish. I absolutely love it and can't get tired of it.
I have 2 Total Wine's less than 10 miles from my home & 1 more about 15.
Of your top 10 list, only 4 are available:
1) Evan Williams SB - $26
2) JD SB BP - $32/375ml $66/750ml
3) Bone Snapper X-ray Rye - $55
4) Sagamore Spirit Rye DO - $48
Total Wine has 6 other Sagamore Rye's ranging from $30 - $84.
The Cask Strength is only a 375ml bottle for $50. Reading the tasting notes; I'm torn between the Port and Calvados finishes 🤔
Dan would say Calvados finish and I'd say do the double oak. Also the JD SB BP is worth the pick up at $66 allllllll day
@@BourbonJunkies Going with the Double Oak this time around as I'm buying a Dalmore 12 plus a few other beverages for Mother's Day as well. Calvados will be next month.
Evan Williams single barrel is one of my favorites. I’ve been collecting them I have a 2010, 2011, 2012, now just added a 2013
Felt proud I already had 4 on this list and have been debating grabbing one more
George Dickel 15 year is a tremendous value at $60-70
1. Russell's Reserve Single Barrel bourbon and rye.
2. New Riff Single Barrel bourbon and rye.
Done.
I also cut my teeth on gentleman Jack. That just made me appreciate your channel even more.
Willett 4 year rye;
Old Scout 4 year rye;
Old Scout single barrel project.
Boom!
Hey guys great list. Totally agree on the EW Single Barrel which is a very tasty, great value. The rest I've not tried but have put on my list to see if I can find them in the Chicagoland area.
There are a few that I wanted to tell you about that not a lot of people have heard of before, but maybe you have?
1.) J. Henry & Sons Small Batch Bourbon. from Dane County Wisc. A guy I work with turned me on to this, and it's amazing Bourbon. When looking up the reviews on it, one reviewer said "It's the best bourbon you've never heard of" and I totally agree. 92 proof around $50, available in the Chicagoland area and Midwest region. They also make a couple of "Reserves" which I've not tried yet, but would like to.
2.) Blaum Brothers (Bourbon and Rye), distilled in Galena, IL. Both the bourbon and the rye are really delicious, but the rye is one of my all-time favorite rye whiskeys. I've poured it for people who say they hate rye whiskey, and they say "damn, that's good"! Available in IL., WI., KY., TN., CO. If you are ever visiting a liquor store in IL, search it out. Cheers!
Barrell Bourbon batch 28 is fantastic and still available on Mash and Grape website
The LCBO (provincial-controlled liquor in Ontario, Canada) just bumped up the the price of Evan Williams SiB to $83. Bonkers.
The EW SiB I've seen are always around 6-7 years. Mine was "put it oak" in 2012 & bottled in 2019
I guess I've really just stopped reading the age statements on them, I thought they were all like 8-9 year
JDSBBP is one of my favs.
I wish people in NJ would have passed on the Jack Rye. Couldn’t find it anywhere.
