  • This is the ICS CXP MARS PDW9 S3, their 9 mm SMG style platform.
It has been out for a while but it’s been on my wish list ever since it was announced about 4 years ago. I am a little late for this review and unboxing game but I’ll give you my thoughts on this platform. We will go over the external features in this video and I’ll check out the internals separately.
Check out the second part of this two part series where I go over the internals of the PDW9: • ICS PDW9 Stock Interna...

is it compatable with polarsar f2 engine? and what other mags can you use with this gun?

I understand it to be compatible with AN F2 since it's a V2 gearbox but you'd need to consider the wiring due to split gearbox design (the ETU wires to the engine selenoids so may be tricky to open the gun) and also the nozzle length is not a standard M4 nozzle but I believe polarstar has options for ICS nozzle lengths.
Mags are a bit annoying in that they are proprietary so ICS PDW9 mags are the best option. Honestly their PDW9 mags are quite nice. They also have a 9mm adaptor for the ICS drum mag. I've heard some people have succeeded getting other similar 9mm mags work but with modifications. The main issue is the mag catch system is different on the PDW9. I've only tried ARP9 mags and they don't work as is (I did not attempt any modifications).

@@DucknDiveAirsoft Thanks for the quick reply! I'm gathering info because I just bought it without any research. Yeah, the mag compatibility is bad, and the ICS PDW9 mags are nice but quite expensive in Europe. Regarding the PolarStar nozzle compatibility, I found a few options on their website: 1. ICS MP5 A/SD length - 1.205 2. ICS SIG 550/551/552 length - 1.3435. Which one should I go for?
I have a Maxx M4 hop-up unit lying around and I hoped I could use that with the PolarStar F2. Will it be compatible with the PolarStar ICS nozzle, or do I need a different PolarStar nozzle? Should I even change the hop-up unit, or is the stock one good enough?

@kamikadze_official id hit up polarstar either on their Facebook or email to confirm the nozzle variant. They should reply quick.
I'd just leave it as the stock hop. In my opinion, the stock ICS hop is fine! Even with a short barrel I have no problem hopping 0.32g bbs 50m to 60m . I've had nothing but trouble trying to change hops on guns. It's hit or miss at best. If you did go Maxx there are specific ones marketed for ICS and then also ones specificly marketed for polarstar engines (I'm not sure if there is a polarstar + ICS version lol). I also don't really know what would be different between the various models of hops that Maxx has. I havnt dug deep into it so I'm not confident what would work best.

@@DucknDiveAirsoft Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely reach out to Polarstar for confirmation on the nozzle variant. I'll stick with the stock ICS hop-up for now since it seems to be working well with. I agree, changing hop-ups can be hit or miss. If I decide to go for a Maxx hop-up, I'll make sure to do thorough research to find the right one for my setup. Appreciate the insights!
