    having a passive 1/1 or 2/2 is extremely strong, as you don't always have a low cost play to counter it and advance your other lane too

    Interesting meta analysis. From testing I think Waru may struggle against the extremely high representation of Sigismar, without great Robin Hood luck Sigismar can really run away with the game. I think Sigismar may be the deck most capable of keeping others "fair" in their win condition by producing consistently good value without as much potential for explosive plays. Looking forward to the PHX Grand Tournament!

    • @TricksterCG
      @TricksterCG  2 місяці тому +5

      @@matheusvicente1961 you are not wrong. I think that the alternating turns is the biggest thing holding cards with a high mana cost back right now. They'll need to make those types of cards even more powerful or find a way for players to keep interacting with their opponents after playing a big card for them to be more viable. Some heroes like Sierra and Auraq can get away with playing higher cost if they rotate into popularity.

    • @RarecuisineSaucegod-ig8bc
      @RarecuisineSaucegod-ig8bc 2 місяці тому

      Yes right now it's too difficult to play high cost cards. It's unfortunate because that's my favorite play style is dropping 4-6 cost cards every turn

    Waru and Mack running against the clock is a definite concern I think a lot of players will overlook when picking up the deck. Especially as rounds go on and you start feeling mental fatigue.
    For me, if I was going to Phoenix I'd be on Fen & Crowbar or Teija & Nauraa.
    You talk about this, but the ability to squeeze in more utility stuff in F&C is huge. Not to mention you always "draw" 2 which is huge. I don't run Festival in my list as I find it a bit too labor intensive and don't like how vulnerable it can be. Magical Training is very good in the deck. I definitely feel like it has improved my win rate by a percent or two.
    Teija I see as a more linear Waru & Mack. Of course I'm on a Monolith list so it plays closer to that. Overall I find the matchup spread very winnable and find the gameplay loop a lot less taxing on the brain than Waru & Mack and that means a lot to me when picking a deck for longer events.
    Thanks for the video Trickster! Incredibly informative and great to hear your takes on the meta.

      Festival in fen gives her options while baiting removal. its enter ability lets you choose between 3 different modes, and your opponent can't afford to leave it in play since you can get the win out of nowhere.

    • @TricksterCG
      @TricksterCG  2 місяці тому

      @@Monkey_D._Elliott I'm definitely excited to keep optimizing Fen over the coming months. It's too bad you can't make it to the Phoenix event. I think your picks sound strong and mine will partially be influenced by what uniques were available outside of just the strengths of the heroes.

    • @Monkey_D._Elliott
      @Monkey_D._Elliott 2 місяці тому

      @@TricksterCG I definitely think Fen is going to keep getting pushed into more and more optimal lists. Has an incredibly high ceiling. So it goes, can't make them all. Uniques for sure make a big push in one direction or another. I think even 1 highly synergistic one can push your deck up and if you have 2 or the full 3 you're very incentivized to play leaders that benefit from them. As far as winning the event is concerned, my money is on you.

    Hi, isn't only 1 Festival Risky ? What happens if it goes in your mana zone ? You can't win with it.

    • @TricksterCG
      @TricksterCG  2 місяці тому

      @@PixlPixl I think it is mostly a backup plan and players that run 1 would rather see 0 than be stuck with 2 when it isn't good. That being said a lot of other players do run 2 but either way you're usually not planning around it and focus mostly on the standard victory condition. The threat of festival is often good enough to mess up your opponent even if you don't pull it off too because they'll hold on to removal or male suboptimal plays to avoid the auto loss.

    Hi, i have a question for anybody that wants to help me:
    When an anchored character is sent to reserve by a card effect, does it keep the anchored status or does it just lose it? I read basically the whole comprehensive rule file on internet, especially when i started playing because some things were not clear but i couldn't quite find and answer, English is not my first language tho and i think some sentences on the file are very technical and i may have not fully understood them lol

    • @TricksterCG
      @TricksterCG  2 місяці тому +1

      @@tommasomoro8773 hello! If a card is sent to the reserve or discard it loses anchored. Anchored means it will not go to the reserve during rest and instead loses anchored but a card effect can still move your card out of the expedition (at which point anchored and boost tokens are removed). If a card has anchored and fleeting the first rest it will lose anchored while keeping fleeting and the next day during rest it will go to the discard pile because of the fleeting status. Hopefully this helps with some of the situations you will see!

If you face decks with permanents or that start the turn with characters on the board you need something with seasoned from a previous day to catch up... but that can easily be dealt with using sabotage or removal.
