I have been living in Staten Island for 20 years after growing up in Brooklyn and I must say thank God I brought up my children here, Its the most family friendly place in the city, I am glad most NYers dont really care and /or visit the borough. I believe this place is a hidden secret. This place had the best Chinese and Italian food/Pizza in the city. The mall has everything no need to leave the borough. Yes please keep ignoring this place...getting a little to crowded.
I moved outta staten 4 years ago and it was the best thing i coulda ever done. The drugs, the fake ass people. The places i used to eat at became garbage. My own deli getting robbed . The place became a shithole and I recommend everyone to move if they can. I still visit my mom in staten every now and then. But just for a day. I could not see myself staying more then a week down there again. Everything became some touristy cash grab spot. The mall became expensive garbage. Idk if they built the ferris wheel by the ferry but they where building a mall. But the roads will always suck ass and eat away at your struts and suspension
It's June 14th, 2020. What are the average gas prices on Staten Island right now? Yes, Jerry's Diner is awesome for breakfast. The parks are cool too. I have been visiting New York for years (my mom lives there), however my first time visiting Staten Island was December 2019. I fell in love and have visited the city twice in the last 6 months. BTW, I live in Georgia.

So is Staten Island expensive?
In relation to other parts of the Five Boroughs of NYC, we are actually one of the most affordable to live in.

$2.55 for gas. In South Carolina I just paid, as of yesterday Friday, $3.07 per gallon. Wow! Staten Island has cheaper gas than South Carolina.
So, I will be working at Staten Island Hospital, where should I look to rent an apartment ?
Depends on which hospital. Would be happy to discuss with you….feel free to reach out
The closest I've gotten to Staten Island was taking the SI ferry from Manhattan over & back😎

Current Gas Prices are between 2.05 and 2.20 a gallon, depending on what station you go to. Thanks for your comment!!

I hear trade jobs are in HUGE demand on Staten Island especially due to the ongoing development of the island.
