The Start of a New Beginning | New Mexico Mountain Biking

  • Early 2022 I moved from Colorado to New Mexico due to service obligations. It was a difficult transition moving from a city surrounded by mountain biking trails to the dessert. However, I was fortunate enough to live by the Sacramento Mountains in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Anything is possible where there is dirt.
    This video is the start of a new beginning here in New Mexico. This was filmed in Alamogordo, New Mexico, 3 hours south of Albuquerque. After talking with local bike shops and doing some research on Trailforks, we have MTB trails outside my area. In the future, I will be showcasing trails within Las Cruces, Cloudcroft, El Paso (Texas), Ruidoso, and more.

      This area in alamogordo is stunning however the trails are a bit challenging to ride. Lots of loose dirt/rocks. Trying to explore more trails out there. More to come! I will eventually ride in El Paso. Seems like some good trails out there. Thanks for watching!

    Hah. I actually moved from El Paso to Denver and found your channel to explore the Palmer Divide trails. If you want any guidance towards spots and things to do in that area, I lived there for 4 years and explored any and everything around. While mountain biking in the Sacramento Mountains is far more multi use trails than anything else, Ski Apache does do bike park service during the summer, and the Spaghetti Bowl is one of the better places to ride around there. I wouldn't suggest anything except the Monks Trail and Lazy Cow trails in El Paso, honestly I found riding in El Paso to be far too rocky to be enjoyable, every fall is a big slice or going into a cactus. Don't miss taking a ride on the Rim Trail too, or any of the forest service roads that go up into the national forest around cloudcroft, there are a lot of trails that are multi use but unpublished on mtbproject or trailforks. I wish I had been able to start some kind of trail group around there, because there are so many good places to ride that just need advocacy. Enjoy the time there! I loved it! Don't miss out on a trip to Mad Jacks!

      I'm happy for you brother! DEN is a great place to be. Experience the Colorado Trail. Also my favorite trail out there was Floyd Hill. So much fun! I appreciate the intel on the trails out here. So far Ruidoso has been my favorite area to ride. Ski Apache opens up end of month. Stoked about that. I'll be riding the Rim trail next month when the High Altitude shuttle is available. What is Mad Jacks?

    im thinking of buying bike mtb glasses, what would you recommend?

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому +1

      The brand sunglasses I recommend it Oakley. The reason is because of the lens. One of the lenses I HIGHLY recommend is the “prizm trail torch” lens. The contrast of the trail is impeccable through these lenses. I can see detail much better with these lenses than clear or any other sunglasses on the market. On top of that, Oakley has a wide variety of styles you can choose from with these lenses. I recommended this to all my buddies. And they do not regret it. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
