  • ATTENTION: FOREST CLOSURE DUE TO EXTREME FIRE CONDITIONS: On May 25, 2022, the Lincoln National Forest entered Stage 3 Fire Restrictions, closing the forest due to extreme fire danger. There is no public access allowed on any part of the forest. All trails, campgrounds, recreation sites, picnic sites and dispersed camping areas are closed until conditions improve or until July 30, which ever comes first.
    Cloudcroft provides good options to ride if you are looking for a good mix of climbing challenges and fun descents. There are a few sections containing a lot of loose rocks but that seems to be the standard for trails in this area.
    Trail was created for the High Altitude Bike Shop annual race. Trail is well maintained and best uses are mountain biking and hiking. The High Altitude Race Course contains fun single-track down hills, with some fun technical portions and steep climbs. This trails contains markers to help guide you through the trail.
    Make sure you check out Bailey Canyon trail. It is one of my favorites in this area. This trail ascends through pine and aspen forest before opening up into a series of clearings or meadows. Because this trail is common for horseback riding, the trail is narrow and scooped for a large portion, especially entering the meadows.
    My highly recommended restaurant seen in the video is Cloudcroft Brewing Company. Link: www.cloudcroftbrewing.com

    This video was filmed days before the forest closure (25 May). The Lincoln National Forest is schedule to re-open 30 July 2022.

    Hey man I found you when as I was looking for videos on Pikes Peak Plummet. A buddy and I are hitting that in a couple weeks. Anyway, I've enjoyed all your videos since! Great content and editing, good flow and music. I hope to get to NM in the near future as well!

    Awesome video are you using an E-bike ?

      Sometimes I wished it was an ebike. It’s an analog bike…no motor. It’s a Yeti Sb140. If they made an ebike with this frame and model, I would consider it.

    You still need to try the down hill bike trail in Cedar Creek. It is my favorite trail so far.

      @@DavePFilms parts of it but never the whole thing. We have some really fun trails in Ruidoso that absorb most of my time! I used it to do a really fun long decent from sunspot down to high rolls and then back up karr canyon

    My wife and I recently started riding! We fell in love, it’s super wild you ran into Guido on the trail! We actually see him on the trails here in El Paso and my father in law knows him well!!! Actually bought a bike rack off of him. Super knowledgeable and nice guy!! Your videos are sick, keep’em up 🤘🏼

    Beautiful are u still all about the 27.5? I ride 27.5 as well but have never experienced a 29er

    • @DavePFilms
      @DavePFilms  2 роки тому

      I love my 27.5. It’s so nimble and easier to climb techy trails. But my 29ner rolls a lot faster.
