I unfortunately served over 5 years in prison due to heroin addiction and was lucky enough to be able to loan this album through a public library in Colorado. This album helped me get through a super rough patch in my life and I will always be grateful for that. I somehow got lucky enough to meet Brendan at a local hardcore venue in Colorado Springs when Counterparts was on tour about a year ago and he was definitely one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever talked to. Nothing but love 💪 🤘

Honestly man, I believe these are the perfect videos for this scene.
I don't know what happened - and looking back I don't know how I made it this far in life. From broken promises, lost friendships, betrayed partnerships, poor families and lost minds - I made it up to having a loving family, a partner, dreams coming true and friends gathering around me. I was close to killing myself, but music like this helped me to understand, that I am not the only one who thinks this way. I just hope that these bands continue as long as they can. If they'd only knew, how many people they have saved. Thank you all, thank you for the love - thank you for the scene we had 10 years ago. Alot of us broken children became grown, solid and strong women and men.

this is why i love music. ive always been the person who completely hides what im feeling.. ive turned into an emotionless and dead shell. i can only really express myself through other peoples expressions because im too afraid to be alone.. the feeling of finding someone who really empathizes with me is a feeling that i cant compare to anything else. the amount of happiness that i get from being around people who i can really connect with makes life so much better. letting go of those thoughts and feelings is the most liberating thing ever... UGH i hate sounding like one of those "music saved my life" kids... but its true.

after looking up the lyrics to their songs I realized that I can connect on an emotional level with their lyrics.Ive felt this way so many fucking times. They get it and tell it how it is. Cant believe i just listened to them, can't wait to be part of that crowd one day

3:10 on randomly popped in my head, haven't listened in a few years but I was still able to place the song immediately. so nostalgic, still one of the best songs

saw counterparts live and when this song came on, half the people there crowded around Brendan during the part of the song that says "i fucking hate the world, i fucking hate myself etc.." and it was so fucking powerful.
same thing happened when i saw them :) i was lucky to be in the crowd around brenden and screamed with everyone it was magical.
I remember in oakland they had a sign saying "dont climb onto the stage" but when this part came up we all just went up and swarmed brendan it was awesome

i heard about these guys in a psych ward, im so glad i met someone who got me into metal that wasn't just slipknot and suicide silence

I respect your comments, don´t get me wrong I like new bands, I have 38 years old and I have heard HC since i was 15. It's just that the guys now seem to care only for the look and not to "change the world" if you know what I mean, I don´t want to sound like "in my times..", but most media corporations looking to make money of everything all the time and if it sells, they packaged, labeled and give the shit to swallow it.
